The primary aim of this workshop was to train young individuals to enhance their knowledge on global affairs, cultivate cultural awareness, and develop an international outlook.

Vachan Prerna Din - 2024

Podar International School ICSE-ISC celebrated Vachan Prerana Din with great enthusiasm and inspiration, honoring the spirit of reading and the legacy of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Our students engaged in an enlightening PPT presentation that highlighted Dr. Kalam’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a pioneering scientist and the beloved President of India.

The presentation sparked insightful discussions about his dreams, vision for India, and the importance of education. Students reflected on Dr. Kalam’s belief that “Dreams are not what you see in your sleep, but dreams are things which do not let you sleep.”

Experimentarium Grade 5 to 8 - 2024

‘A Colorful Journey Begins at ‘The Experimentarium!’

The special feature, "The Experimentarium: Perspectives in STEM, STEAM and LOGIC," aims to help students explore the integration of logic and art in the examination of chemical properties. STEAM Education combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to enhance learning and critical thinking. By integrating art into STEM, it fosters creativity and makes learning engaging. This hands-on approach empowers students to explore and understand the world, equipping them with essential skills for the future.

The students of Podar International School ICSE-ISC, Nerul dove into the fascinating world of liquid density! Through hands-on experiments, they explored how different liquids, like oil and water, interact based on their unique densities.

Students from Class V to VIII participated in these activities. Our science labs and classrooms buzzed with excitement as students explored chemical reactions, creating stunning art pieces with turmeric, lemon juice, and soap water. They made predictions, conducted experiments, and observed the amazing phenomenon of oil floating on water. They also blended creativity into their science exploration!

Students successfully completed worksheets based on Experimentarium, reinforcing their understanding of scientific concepts through interactive and experiential learning. Engaging discussions sparked curiosity as they connected their experiments to real-world concepts, like why some objects float while others sink.

Experimentarium Grade 1 to 4 - 2024

Students of Grade I to IV at Podar International School - Nerul ICSE took part in the special feature The Experimentarium, using a STEAM approach. STEAM approach of teaching includes Science, Technology and Engineering, Art and Mathematics or a combination of any two of these subjects to explain a concept. Students in this special feature used science and art to study the concept of solubility using different materials.

Students of Grade I & II explored the solubility of colours in water through art, using lemon as a marker. Students of Grade III & IV learnt about the 3 states of matter by observing, conducting, and evaluating the Magic Balloon Experiment. Teachers introduced the concept of non-Newtonian fluids.

Both experiments sparked curiosity and excitement among the students, making learning enjoyable. They were able to grasp scientific principles in a fun, practical setting, encouraging them to explore further.

Dussehra Celebration - 2024

"Celebrating Navratri with cultural pride!"

Podar International School, ICSE-ISC, Nerul, promotes holistic education by integrating cultural heritage. As part of this endeavour, a vibrant Navratri celebration was organized for classes 5-12. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who immersed themselves in the festive spirit. Various performances showcased the rich cultural heritage of India, fostering a sense of unity and joy among the students.

Class X D conducted a special assembly to commemorate Navratri and Dussehra, emphasizing the significance of Indian traditions and their contemporary relevance.

The event featured a dramatic narration of Ravana's story, showcasing his arrogance and downfall, followed by God Rama's inspiring story conveying valuable life lessons on discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Navratri Celebration - 2024

Podar International School (ICSE) celebrated the vibrant festival of Navratri with great enthusiasm and joy for students from Classes 1 to 4. The event was graced by the presence of our esteemed Principal, Dr. Bhushan Bonde, and Vice Principal, Ms. Zareen Poonawala, who added warmth and encouragement to the festivities.

The students came dressed in traditional attire, bringing the spirit of the festival alive. The young students performed Garba with much zeal, filling the air with music, dance, and excitement.

On 4th October 2024, the students of Grade I and II from Podar International School ICSE had an enriching field trip to the Muso (Museum of Solutions). The highlight of the visit was an incredible opportunity to meet India’s “Golden Boy,” Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic gold medalist in Javelin throw. The students were thrilled to interact with him, learning about his journey, discipline, and dedication. Mr. Neeraj shared inspiring stories of his challenges and victories, encouraging the young learners to aim high and pursue their dreams with passion. This memorable interaction left a lasting impact on the children, sparking their enthusiasm for sports and hard work.

On July 31, 2024, Podar International School ISC, Nerul, hosted an insightful seminar via Google Meet, connecting top performers from the 2023-2024 12th grade board exams with current 12th-grade students. The event aimed to provide insights into effective study strategies, time management, and maintaining a balance between academic and personal life for the achievers.

The event began with Ms. Kavya Thomas, Master Syed Amaan, and Ms. Kristy John introducing the toppers. They motivated and encouraged the upcoming batch of Grade X by discussing the importance of prioritizing tasks and setting realistic goals. All the speakers emphasized the need to maintain a healthy balance between academic pursuits and personal well-being.

A highly motivating video was sent by Master Param Bhaiwal, who secured AIR 1 with a score of 99.8%. Param shared his study techniques and offered advice on preventing burnout.

‘Every Day Earth Day’ assembly conducted by Class V E on August 2nd at Podar International School ICSE-ISC was a significant event aimed at educating students about the critical issue of plastic pollution. It focused on the impact of plastic waste on various habitats and species, particularly highlighting the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

The assembly featured an anchor and several characters representing different creatures affected by plastic pollution: Mr. Moo (a cow), Mr. Shellback (a sea turtle), Ms. Seagull (a seabird), and Mr. Mann (a human). Each character shared their perspective on how plastic affects their lives and communities. The assembly emphasized the importance of reducing plastic use, especially single-use plastics, and highlighted the need for immediate action to mitigate the environmental and health risks posed by plastic pollution.

Abhivyakti 'Debate Competition' - 2024

‘Abhivyakti - The Annual Debate Competition’ was organized by the ISC team of Podar International School, on the 25th of July, 2024, held for the grades XI and XII from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00noon in the Ashoka Hall of the school.

The purpose of ‘Abhivyakti’ was, as the literal meaning goes, to provide students with a platform to express their opinions, present their perspective in an organized form and to enable them to test their oratory and persuasive skills.

The twelve participants from XI and XII standards were divided into groups of two members each, such that there were six teams. Each team had one participant presenting his views ‘for’ the topic and the other advocating ‘against’ it.

The topic- ‘Do advertisements exploit social issues for commercial gains’ was given to the participants an hour before the competition, and they were given access to the library resources to procure information and prepare their arguments.

The dedication and enthusiasm of the participants were palpable throughout the competition. Their commitment to preparation and the spirited exchanges on stage were a testament to their passion for discourse and critical thinking. The performances not only captivated the audience but also inspired them to engage deeply with the issues at hand. Jumpstart Activity 'Plastic Plastic Everywhere - Breaking The Plastic Spell (Morning Shift)' - 2024

PODAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ICSE-ISC, NERUL organized the Jumpstart Event 'Plastic Plastic Everywhere' commenced on 22nd July 2024, aiming to educate students about the life cycle of plastic and the impact of plastic pollution. The theme encouraged students to practice plastic discipline and develop a sense of duty towards the planet. Two interactive activities were planned to engage students in learning about plastic pollution. Class V-VI students were supposed to Caption the picture which was depicting water pollution and Class VII-VIII students wrote their own reflections on the most commonly littered plastic found in a tourist place. These activities not only educated the students but also encouraged them to think critically about their own behaviors and the collective effort needed to combat plastic pollution. Guru Purnima Celebration 'Secondary Section' - 2024

Podar International School ICSE-ISC, Nerul celebrated Guru Purnima on 19th July 2024, focusing on the theme "Guru ke charno mein kruthagnyata vyakt kanre ka din." The event aimed to highlight the significance of guru in one’s life, among students. Class XI B, led by Ms. Ronak Thakkar, conducted the class assembly. The program included a song which sung by Ms. Shreya Rao, a short skit which highlighted the importance of Guru Purnima by Atharva Wala and Arva Shirke, and instructions on card making by Event Coordinator Ms. Chitra Parandwal. Class Teachers then facilitated the sample messages and pictures for better understanding for the students. The students then wrote the message and decorated the card for their parents, (their first Gurus). Class Teachers captured photos to document the event. Students participated enthusiastically, gaining insights into the significance of Guru Purnima and importance of Guru in their life. Overall, the celebration successfully promoted several values and benefits, including respect for a Guru, cultural awareness, character building, inspiration and self-discovery.

Ashadi Ekadashi Celebration 'Shaley Wari' - 2024

Ashadhi Ekadashi is a significant festival celebrated in the month of Aashadh every year in Maharashtra. It is an auspicious day when devotees perform various rituals and pooja ceremonies to honor God Vishnu, particularly in the form of Shri Vithhala. In Maharashtra, people traditionally undertake a pilgrimage, known as Wari, from different places to Pandharpur, where they walk to have a darshan (holy sight) of Vithhala. Those who cannot participate in the Wari, offer prayers and flowers to God Vitthal and fast.

In Podar International School ICSE-ISC, Nerul, the Special Assembly was conducted highlighting the significance of Aashadhi Ekadashi where the teacher explained how the festival is traditionally observed and underscored the planning and execution of Pandharpur Wari. Students of Grade V to XII witnessed the assembly virtually and imbibed the ethos of the day. The students of Grade V celebrated Aashadhi Ekadashi by participating in a symbolic Wari within the school premises called as ‘Shaley Wari’. The students not only dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire but also held placards featuring Abhangas of the Saints of Maharashtra. Abhangas are devotional songs or poems composed by Saints, expressing their reverence and devotion to God Vitthal. These placards served as a visual representation of the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Maharashtra, highlighting the contributions of its Saints to the devotional tradition. Students chanted ‘Jay Hari Vithhal’ and sang bhajans. Girls played fugadi- a traditional game. Some students gave short speeches on the Aashadhi Ekadashi signifying its importance. This celebration not only allowed the students to experience the cultural values of Aashadhi Ekadashi but also provided an opportunity for them to learn about the traditions and rituals associated with this festival.

Podar International School ICSE-ISC, Nerul conducted the activity ‘Special Feature - Mirror Musings: Reflecting on My Brightest Self’ on 15th July and 16th July 2024 to introduce students to the concept of a Growth Mindset, challenging the Fixed Mindset paradigm by demonstrating that abilities and intelligence can be developed with efforts. Podar International School celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2024, focusing on the theme "Yoga for Self and Society." The students of Podar International School, ICSE/ISC, Nerul showcased a diverse range of activities to honour English Language Day. The programme began with a soulful rendition of “A Million Dreams” by the school choir, setting a perfect tone for the event.

The highlight of the celebration was the roleplay segment by the 8th graders, who brilliantly brought characters from Shakespearean plays to life. To actively promote the students' interest in Mathematics and its application and encourage them to overcome their fear of Mathematics, PIS Nerul ICSE, ISC organized 'Mathematica'- a fun filled Mathematics Quiz Competition for the students of Grade V to IX on 7th February 2024. The competition was started with the introduction of the ten finalists from each grade during morning assembly, followed by a warm up quiz session for the audience.
