Podar Art Department: Cultivating Creativity Across Grades 1 to 8

Vision

A future where every student confidently embraces creativity, artistic expression, and innovation-making art a vital part of holistic education, personal growth, and cultural enrichment.

Mission

We empower art educators and students through an innovative, well-structured curriculum. By combining creative mentorship, meaningful resources, and engaging experiences, we aim to make art education inspiring, impactful, and consistent across all Podar schools.

Our Curriculum Development Process

Research-Driven Design

Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) at the Head Office research current trends in art, art history, styles, and mediums, exploring artistic utility in daily life and career opportunities.

Hands-On, Age-Appropriate Curriculum

Insights from research guide the design of engaging projects and activities tailored for students across Grades 1-8.

Regional Support for Consistency

Our Regional Art Facilitators (RAFs) visit schools regularly to observe classes, provide guidance, and support teachers in delivering the curriculum effectively.

Highlights of Our Art Curriculum

At Podar, we teach students using the seven fundamental elements of art-line, shape, form, color, texture, space, and value-to build a strong creative foundation. Students explore these elements through hands-on projects, while also learning art history and critique to appreciate diverse styles and develop critical thinking. This foundation is then brought to life in our Design Labs, where students create 3D projects, experiment with different mediums, and apply their skills in practical, imaginative ways.

Three dynamic modules - Design Lab 1, Design Lab 2, and Final Projects - each spanning 3 to 5 weeks.
Students actively create 3D projects, exploring:

  • Diverse art styles and cultural influences
  • Multiple mediums, including traditional and contemporary materials
  • Practical applications of art in daily life and career paths

At the year's end, students showcase their creative works and projects, celebrating:

  • Artistic achievement
  • Cultural engagement
  • Collaborative creativity across schools

We provide carefully curated art kits containing premium materials, along with art bags and pouches for students. Customized lesson resources and templates are centrally produced and distributed for uniformity and quality across all schools.
