The PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) formation meeting was conducted on 26-4-2025, marking a significant step toward strengthening the partnership between parents and educators.
The objectives, structure, and expected outcomes of the PTA were clearly outlined, fostering a shared understanding among all participants.
Nominations were invited for key PTA positions, followed by a fair and transparent selection process.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with all attendees expressing their commitment to working together in the best interest of the students and the school community. The successful formation of the PTA is a promising beginning, and we look forward to an active and impactful association in the times ahead.
On 24-4-2025, our school organized a refreshing Yoga Session for students to promote health, relaxation, and mindfulness.
Everyone participated with enthusiasm and energy. The calm and focused atmosphere helped students feel relaxed and rejuvenated. The session ended with a short meditation.
It was a wonderful experience that brought peace, positivity, and unity to our school community.
Our school successfully conducted its Parents' Orientation Program for Classes 1st to 10th, with the aim of strengthening the partnership between parents and the school in the holistic development of students.
Teachers from each grade level introduced themselves and provided an overview of the curriculum, assessment methods, classroom practices, co-curricular activities, and discipline policies. Special attention was given to the new academic framework, digital learning tools, and methods to support students in their learning journey both at school and at home.
Parents were also guided through the school calendar, PTM schedules, and were introduced to important school policies. The orientation served as an open platform for parents to ask questions, share their expectations, and better understand the school's approach toward student development.
Sessions on child safety, mental well-being, and responsible digital behavior were also conducted to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students.
The orientation concluded with positive feedback from parents, who appreciated the school’s efforts in creating a transparent, inclusive, and nurturing educational atmosphere. It was a fruitful session that laid the foundation for a strong school-home partnership for the academic year.
Our school celebrated World Earth Day on April 22nd with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of environmental responsibility. The event aimed to spread awareness among students about the importance of protecting our planet and encourage eco-friendly habits.
Students and teachers participated in planting saplings around the school premises.
The celebration was concluded with a pledge taken by all students and staff to be more mindful of their actions and to protect our Earth for future generations.

The start of a new academic year is always an exciting time for students and teachers alike. This year, PIS Shirur organized a warm and meaningful event to welcome everyone back. The day began with a special Tilak ceremony, a tradition in our school that symbolizes a fresh start and blessings for success, knowledge, and happiness in the coming year. Each student was greeted with a tilak, marking the beginning of their educational journey for the year.
One of the most noticeable aspects of the day was the students arriving in their civil uniforms. It was heartening to see them dressed with pride, symbolizing their commitment to their studies and school.
The day also featured a special assembly conducted by our teachers. This inspiring session included motivating speeches, prayers, and announcements that encouraged students to embrace learning with enthusiasm.
Our Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir’s welcome speech was the highlight of the event. Sir spoke about the significance of hard work, dedication, and discipline, urging students to approach the year with a positive mindset and a strong desire to excel. He also reminded everyone that education is about more than just academic success—it’s about building character and respecting others.
A productive and insightful PTA meeting was conducted at PIS Shirur on 22nd March 2025, fostering collaboration between parents and educators to ensure the best for our students.
The session included discussions on extending thanks for PPPL matches, Republic Day, Culminating Event, Art Exhibition, Science Exhibition, and Podar Volunteer Program.
School's Achievements: Interschool Science Exhibition, Elocution Competition, Surya Namaskar Competition, Shiv Jayanti Dance Competition, Mahashivratri Dance Competition, Rangotsav, and SOF Exam were also shared in the meeting with the PTA members.
School Coordinator Santosh Shinde Sir shared the upcoming events such as the New ILP Theme (Media Unmasked), School Reopening, and Timing for April Month with the PTA members and took their valuable suggestions.
Our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir, discussed various important topics and thanked all the PTA members for their valuable inputs and continued support given throughout the year in shaping a brighter future for our students.
A comprehensive 3-day Boot Camp was conducted at Podar International School, Shirur under the guidance of Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir, aimed at enhancing the skills of Hindi, Marathi language and Mother teachers. This event focused on fostering various essential aspects of language teaching, from creativity to professional development. The modules for this boot camp are devised by Podar Innovation Centre, Mumbai which aims to enhance teaching skills and introduce new methods for effective language instruction. Mr. Rohit Khomane Sir was the resource person for the session.
Teachers were introduced to the concepts of Differentiated Learning, Educational Approaches, Creativity and Creative Writing, Critical and Analytical Thinking, Professional Development, Mindset, Hindi Varnamala - Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing, and many other things.
To keep the atmosphere vibrant and engaging, various energizers and interactive activities were conducted during the 3-day sessions. These activities helped both teachers and students stay energized and active throughout the sessions. Energizers such as quick games, puzzles, and icebreakers also fostered teamwork and a sense of camaraderie among the participants.
Overall, the Boot Camp for Hindi and Marathi Language Teachers was an enriching experience, empowering educators to implement innovative teaching practices while enhancing their professional growth.
A Revision Test was conducted at PIS Shirur on 8th March 2025 to assess the student's understanding of the topics covered in the current academic term. The test aimed to provide both students and teachers with a clearer picture of individual progress, helping to identify areas where further focus or improvement is needed.
The discussions were productive, as parents received insights into how their child was performing not only in the revision test but also in regular classroom activities. Teachers offered personalized suggestions to help students improve their skills and achieve better results moving forward.
At PIS Shirur, International Women's Day was celebrated with much enthusiasm and gratitude, highlighting the importance of women in our lives. The day began with a special initiative to honor and appreciate the mothers and families of our students. Each student had the opportunity to give a personalized card to their parents, expressing their love and gratitude.
Our students took the time to present cards to the women working that play various roles within the school such as teachers, administrators, and support staff. The celebration concluded after school with a joyful and symbolic moment—cutting a cake to mark the occasion.
The International Women's Day celebration at our school was a beautiful success, creating lasting memories and fostering a deeper appreciation for the women in our lives.
The Thematic Unit: ‘Going Places’ culminated with the event ‘World Explorer Fair’ organized by the students and teachers of Grade I within the school premises.
The event started with song and dance performances by the students, based on the theme of the Thematic Unit. This unit aimed to deepen students' understanding of the amazing places around the world.
Our students explored different fun stations like Yummy World Snacks, Crafty Corner, and Dress-Up Fun. Through these activities, they enhanced their knowledge of culture, food, and clothing from different countries. All the activities and lessons in this unit focused on creating a holistic learning experience for every student.

In a grand assembly, PIS Shir proudly celebrated the achievements of students who excelled in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) exams. The event was marked with the distribution of certificates, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the students who participated.
Among the distinguished recipients were two exceptional students who were awarded the prestigious Zonal Award for their outstanding performance. Additionally, 19 students were honored with Gold Medals for securing top positions in the exam. Their remarkable performance has made the school proud, and these medals stand as a symbol of their hard work, perseverance, and academic brilliance.

The Indian Heritage Quiz Competition was organized for students of Grades VI to IX. This competition aimed to encourage young minds to explore, understand, and appreciate the vast heritage of India.
The students from four Houses participated in the quiz. Aqua House stood first in this competition, followed by Ventus, Ignis, and Terra Houses. The winners were appreciated and awarded certificates by our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir.

Students from Grades VI to IX also presented a variety of attractive projects. The event was a great success, with many innovative ideas and designs on display.

PIS Shirur recently hosted an exciting and vibrant event – the Migration Chronicle ILP Event, where students from various grades showcased their talents and brought together a celebration of culture and tradition.
The celebrations began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a lively ramp walk by students from Grade I to Grade V, who walked the ramp confidently, showcasing their enthusiasm and energy. The ramp walk was a fun-filled event where students displayed their creative outfits and took pride in their cultural heritage.
For students from Grades VI to VIII, the focus shifted to food, and they brought a variety of delicious dishes from different states of India. The students carefully curated these food items to represent the culinary diversity of the country, providing a delightful treat for everyone present.
To make the event even more special, the parents of Grade II and III students were invited to join the celebration. They had the opportunity to visit the food stalls arranged by the students, taste the different dishes, and appreciate the effort put into showcasing the unique flavors and traditions of each region.
Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir, said that it was a moment where our young learners took center stage, showcasing their flair and enthusiasm in a truly remarkable way. The 6th graders of PIS Shirur visited the old age home (Gokul Vruddhashram) under the Podar Volunteer Programme on 5th March 2025.
The people at the old age home were very hospitable and friendly, and they welcomed us with their beautiful smiles. The students had the opportunity to interact with the elderly residents of the ashram. They spent time talking with the seniors, learning about their lives. They also showed their care and concern by reading the letters for the elderly residents, asking about their health and well-being. These heartfelt letters provided comfort and conveyed the students' support, helping the seniors feel valued and remembered.
It was a meaningful experience for the students as they connected with the elderly and brought joy to their day. Our students promised them that they would visit again.
To help teachers reflect on their current work-life balance and identify areas where they can improve, a Connect Circle Session was conducted at PIS Shirur for teachers by our Wellness teacher, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma’am. The session began by discussing the concept of work-life balance and why it's important, especially for educators who juggle teaching, planning, grading, and personal responsibilities.
Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma’am distributed the "Work-Life Balance Wheel" templates to each teacher. They were asked to fill in each section of the wheel based on their current experience in that area (e.g., if they feel they have a good balance in the "Health" section, they can colour it more fully, while if they're struggling with "Work," they might leave that section mostly empty).
After reflection, the teachers were invited to share their experiences in small groups. They were asked to discuss what strategies had worked for them in maintaining a balance or what challenges they faced.
The session concluded by summarizing the key points discussed and encouraged teachers to set a small, achievable goal for improving their work-life balance. Our teachers enjoyed the Connect Circle and thanked Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma’am for conducting such a nice session for the teachers.
Today, our Grade I and II students, along with their teachers of PIS Shirur, had the wonderful opportunity to visit Manashanti Chhatralay as part of the Podar Volunteer Program.
During this visit, our students generously donated toys and stationery items to the children residing there. It was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved, as the students were able to share their blessings and spread joy through thoughtful contributions.
The visit not only taught our young learners the value of kindness and empathy but also highlighted the importance of giving back to the community. It was a memorable and meaningful day, filled with laughter, learning, and the spirit of giving.
On 1st March 2025, the Deccan Education Society English Medium School hosted the highly anticipated "Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Inter-School Science Project Competition," which brought together students from various schools to showcase their creativity, innovation, and scientific prowess. The students of PIS Shirur participated in this competition enthusiastically and displayed their projects.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from six different schools that presented a wide range of projects focusing on different scientific fields including robotics, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, and space exploration. The objective of the event was to encourage the spirit of inquiry, problem-solving, and hands-on learning among students, reflecting Dr. Kalam’s vision of fostering scientific curiosity and innovation.

The primary objective of the Indian Heritage Quiz was to educate students about India’s historical roots, diverse cultures, and unique customs. The quiz competition provided an excellent opportunity for students to gain knowledge about India’s past, including its achievements in architecture, literature, music, and science, and the role these elements play in shaping modern India.
The quiz competition was conducted in a fun and engaging manner, typically divided into multiple rounds such as: Non-Transferable Round, Transferable Round, Fastest Finger, Picture Identification, and Rapid Fire Round. Terra House won the competition, followed by Ventus and Ignis House.

The students of grade III conducted the assembly, which began with a prayer and pledge, where students vowed to uphold values of truth, discipline, and respect, dedicating themselves to knowledge and peace on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri.
The thought of the day was shared, and the significance of Mahashivratri was explained, emphasizing that it marks the night when Lord Shiva performed the cosmic dance of creation and destruction. It is a day of fasting, prayer, and meditation, encouraging spiritual growth and the purification of the mind.
The assembly concluded with a few cultural performances, including a devotional song and dance performance, followed by closing remarks that wished everyone a blessed and peaceful Mahashivratri.
An Interhouse Competition was organized at PIS Shirur on 26th February 2025 under the theme ‘MIGRATION CHRONICLES’ – Exploring Journeys of Adaptation and Integration. The themes and topics were designed to encourage students to explore important global issues related to migration, culture, and refugee responsibilities.
Two students were selected by the house leaders to represent their respective houses in one team. Every debate was carried out by two opposing sides or teams - the affirmative side and the opposing side. The teacher shared the parameters with the debaters a week prior so they could prepare for the debate.
For Grades III to VI, the topic of "Tradition vs. Integration" encouraged the students to think about the balance between maintaining one's cultural roots and adapting to a new environment. It was interesting to hear different arguments about whether blending traditions or keeping them distinct is the best approach when moving to a new place.
Meanwhile, Grades VII and VIII had a more global issue to debate—"Global Responsibility for Refugees." This topic likely challenged students to consider the ethics and practicality of sharing responsibility for refugees worldwide, opening up discussions about empathy, resources, and the role of countries in protecting those in need.
Lastly, the teachers announced the winners based on judging parameters and awarded them certificates and trophies. They were also given personalized positive feedback.
The Science Exhibition Day organized at our school was a grand success, bringing together students, teachers, parents, and esteemed guests for a day filled with knowledge, creativity, and innovation. The theme of this year's exhibition was Scispectra 2025.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome address by the host, acknowledging the presence of our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, respected guests Vasant Shinde, Krushan Pharate, and Nitin Ghawate, as well as parents, teachers, and students. The atmosphere was filled with reverence as the lamp-lighting ceremony took place.
The much-anticipated theme for the Science Exhibition, Scispectra 2025, was revealed. The theme captured the essence of modern scientific exploration and the vast spectrum of research and innovation that students had delved into. With the theme revealed, the event moved to the inauguration, where our Respected Principal and distinguished guests officially opened the exhibition.
The guests and parents were invited to tour the classrooms where the students had set up their creative and thought-provoking projects. Each class worked diligently on experiments, models, and presentations, and it was evident that students were eager to share their knowledge with others. From physics to chemistry, biology to robotics, the exhibits showcased a diverse array of ideas and scientific concepts.
The judging process followed as the guests evaluated the projects. Students explained their concepts, demonstrating their understanding and passion for the subjects. Their hard work and dedication to the projects were evident in every experiment and display.
The day was a testament to the creativity, knowledge, and future potential of our students.

The Thematic Unit: “Let’s Take A Trip”
Culminating Event - Grade: II
The culminating event “Let’s Take A Trip” was organised for the students of grade II at Podar International School, Shirur.
Thematic Learning is a way of teaching and learning, whereby different subjects are connected and integrated within a theme. Thematic learning replaces the regular curriculum for the four weeks of the unit.
Our young learners from Grade II enthusiastically participated in discussions and shared their favorite travel memories with classmates. They sang songs as well as performed a dance in groups, which amazed everyone. This interactive session helped students enhance their communication skills, recall cherished experiences, and learn about different modes of transport. The event fostered confidence, active listening, and joyful storytelling. It was heartwarming to see the excitement as students shared their travel stories through pictures and various models they had prepared.
The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Respected Principal Mr. Neeraj Rai sir and with the support of parents and the collective efforts of teachers and students of Grade II.
Podar International School Shirur organized Letter-writing and Greeting Card Making Activities (Under the Podar Volunteer Program) on 22nd February 2025.
The Grade III students participated by writing heartfelt letters to the soldiers, expressing their respect, admiration, and support. Each student carefully penned their thoughts, thanking the soldiers for their service and wishing them safety and strength. These letters not only provided a personal touch but also helped the students understand the importance of soldiers in keeping the country safe.
Meanwhile, the students of Grade IV got creative by crafting beautiful greeting cards for the soldiers. Using colorful paper, markers, and various decorative materials, they designed cards filled with messages of encouragement and appreciation. Each card was unique, showcasing the individual creativity of the students while conveying a powerful message of gratitude.
This activity allowed the students to express their feelings creatively. It was a truly meaningful experience, fostering a sense of respect, empathy, and patriotism among the young learners.
Through this activity, the students not only learned about the importance of acknowledging and honoring those who serve but also developed an appreciation for the values of service, duty, and community.
Our school hosted a grand certificate distribution ceremony to honor the students who participated in and won the Powada Singing Competition.
PIS Shirur organized a vibrant and exciting Powada competition on 14th and 15th February in honor of the legendary warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, to celebrate his bravery, valor, and leadership. Students from grades I to VIII participated enthusiastically, reciting and singing these historical ballads with great zeal and dedication.
A special assembly was organized where the winners were called on stage to receive their well-deserved certificates. Our Respected School Coordinator, Santosh Shinde sir, congratulated all the students for their remarkable performances.
We are thrilled to announce that two dance groups of PIS Shirur have received tremendous success in the Dance Competition (Cultural Program) organized on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti Utsav at Ramling.
Our dance group received the First Position on the theme Shiv Tandav (Grade IX- Girls), and another group was also awarded the Third Position on the theme Baji Prabhu- Shauryagatha (Students from V to IX) in the same competition.
The competition was fierce, with 16 skilled participant groups, but our teams' unique style and energy captured the judges' attention and earned us the prestigious honors. This victory would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our dance teacher, Gayatri Singh Ma'am, who guided students through every step.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Celebration at PIS Shirur was a grand event that honored the legendary Maratha king. The program commenced with a Shivaji Maharaj Palkhi March where students participated with great enthusiasm, marching to the rhythmic beats of traditional music, and honoring the king’s valor. The Palkhi march created a sense of excitement and pride among all.
Following the march, the Shivaji Maharaj idol was worshiped with reverence and offered the garland to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, invoking blessings for the community.
Our Podarites from Grades I to VII presented beautiful Powadas, a traditional Marathi war song, to pay tribute to Shivaji Maharaj’s bravery. Their performance was energetic and heartwarming, lasting six minutes, and they delivered it with full enthusiasm.
The students from grade IX performed an engaging skit that depicted the life and achievements of Shivaji Maharaj. This skit not only entertained but also educated everyone about the legacy of this great warrior. A short but impactful speech was delivered, highlighting the significance of Shivaji Maharaj's contributions to the Maratha empire.
The celebration continued with a beautiful dance performance, showcasing traditional dance forms and celebrating the spirit of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The dance left everyone in awe, adding a touch of cultural vibrancy to the event.

The International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is a prestigious exam conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) that encourages students to enhance their knowledge in various subjects like General Knowledge, History, Geography and Science.
PIS Shirur conducted an award & certificate distribution ceremony to felicitate the students for their outstanding performance in the Olympiad (IGKO) Exam. 66 students from grades I to X participated in this exam, and out of that 10 students received the Gold Medal.

PIS Shirur is glad to inform you that our school has won exciting awards and prizes at the National Level in Colouring, Handwriting, Collage Making, Cartoon Making, Greeting card Making, Tattoo Making, Sketching, Finger and Thumb Painting, Mask Making, Caricature competition for the year 2024-25 held by RANGOTSAV CELEBRATION.
The exam was conducted on 23rd October 2024. From our school, 292 students appeared for the exam, out of that 52 students received various prizes in this competition.
Today all the winners were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals along with trophies and certificates.
Respected Principal sir congratulated all the winners and encouraged those who did not receive a certificate this time. Keep in mind that each experience is a learning opportunity, and there will always be future chances to showcase your abilities.

A grand farewell ceremony was organized by grade IX for the students of grade X at PIS Shirur on 6th February 2025. All the students of Grade IX were happy and involved in the arrangements with full enthusiasm.
Grade X students received a warm welcome from the juniors as they entered wearing elegant attire. The function started with the auspicious lamp lighting and a welcome dance. A melodious farewell song was sung by the students and also glimpses of the school memories were shown through a wonderful dance and skit that brimmed the ambiance with the sea of emotions. A small token of love was given to the students through a memorable presentation that highlighted their journey at PIS Shirur. The Grade X students also expressed their joy and happiness by sharing their thoughts with everyone. A few teachers also expressed their thoughts and shared memories with the students.
Finally, the students were guided by our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir. It’s not a final goodbye, your success, happiness, and achievements will always be a source of pride for our school. You will forever be a part of our school’s story. Keep striving for excellence and never forget the foundation you’ve built here.

Vision India Healthcare Foundation organised a Cancer Awareness Program at Podar International School, Shirur on 27th November 2024. Mr. Vinit Singh and Mrs. Nanci Singh were the resource persons of the awareness program.
Mr. Vinit sir addressed the students during the school assembly about good living habits, healthy dietary habits, Cancer Control, Tobacco Control, Passive Smoking and warning signals of this disease in the primary stage in different parts of the body followed by distribution of awareness forms to the students containing all the necessary information.
Our students talked to the people and spread Cancer Awareness to their relatives, family friends and neighbours. Their hard work was appreciated in the assembly by presenting them with certificates.
Deccan Education Society English Medium School and Samartha Seva Mandal organized the Inter School Surya Namaskar Group Competition at Deccan English Medium School on 4th February 2025. The students of PIS Shirur participated in this competition enthusiastically and displayed their talent.
In a remarkable display of skill and teamwork, the Boys' teams of Podar International School Shirur bagged the Second Position and the Girls' teams secured Fourth Position in this competition. There was tough competition among 16 teams. The students demonstrated their dedication, perseverance, and passion for yoga.
The Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir congratulated the winners for showcasing their brilliance on the stage by presenting a mind-blowing performance. A special thanks to Gopesh Awhad sir for his hard work and preparation that helped to hold the position in the competition.
On the 4th of February, PIS Shirur celebrated World Surya Namaskar Day with great enthusiasm and energy. This special day was dedicated to honoring the ancient practice of Surya Namaskar, a series of yoga postures that promote physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual growth.
The day began with a morning assembly planned by the students of grade VI. The students, dressed in comfortable yoga attire, performed a series of twelve asanas (postures), each synchronized with breath control. As the group performed the Surya Namaskar, the positive energy and harmony in the air were palpable.
The students learned valuable lessons about mindfulness, concentration, and respect for nature. They also understood the importance of incorporating yoga into our daily routines and embracing holistic health practices.
To celebrate this festival, the students of PIS Shirur were filled with religious fervor and enthusiasm on the occasion of Vasant Panchami, a festival marking the beginning of spring and the Holi season.
A special assembly was conducted by Grade VI students, who were dressed in radiant shades of yellow. The event began with the lighting of the lamp in front of Goddess Saraswati. Prayer, pledge, and thought were followed by a divine rendition of shlokas, celebrating the harvest season of this Hindu festival.
Students beautifully portrayed the significance of Vasant Panchami through their vibrant dance dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, also known as the Goddess of wisdom and knowledge.
Under the guidance of our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir, the Wellness teacher of PIS Shirur, Ms. Snehal Daundkar, conducted a workshop for teachers on 1st February 2025. The workshop emphasized the importance of play in learning, highlighting its role in mental health, emotional regulation, and classroom engagement.
Various activities, including childhood games and structured play-based strategies, were planned in the workshop to help teachers understand how play fosters resilience, creativity, and behavioral management.
The workshop also focused on managing disruptive behaviors using the SEAT framework, implementing the "Four S’s" (Safe, Seen, Soothed, Support & Challenge) for a supportive classroom, and strategies for inclusive education for children with special needs.
The workshop was highly informative, providing valuable takeaways for teachers. The teachers of PIS Shirur expressed their gratitude to Ms. Snehal Daundkar for conducting this enriching session.
PIS Shirur organized micro-teaching sessions for teachers to make the teaching-learning process more effective. The session aimed to provide teachers with an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills.
Subject teachers of English, Science, Maths, and Social Studies conducted micro-teaching sessions on various topics such as Lesson Opening, Methodology, Activities, Lesson Closure, Recapitulation, and Homework.
The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir, appreciated the sessions, stating that micro-teaching helps instructors improve their planning and organizational skills. By planning and delivering a short lesson, instructors can learn to be more efficient and effective in their teaching.
Podar International School Shirur organized a Jumpstart Activity for the students of Grades I to VIII on 31st January 2025.
The theme ‘Pattern Prism’ aims to develop the students' ability to observe unrecognized patterns in their surroundings, both in the natural world and human-made ones, to build logical connections with patterns found worldwide, interpret such patterns, realize the problems that can be solved, and learn to create them.
Our students made various models that reflected distinct patterns. Classrooms were decorated with various patterns. The students of Grades I to IV wore costumes that had various patterns and participated in a ramp walk on the stage after the assembly.
Respected Principal Sir visited the classrooms, interacted with students, and appreciated them for their amazing creativity.
On January 30th, our school observed the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a day known as Martyrs' Day. This is the day we remember and honor the life of the man who led India to independence and who was a symbol of peace, non-violence, and truth.
The morning assembly began with a solemn gathering in the school presented by Grade VIII students, where we paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s memory. The time he was tragically assassinated was a mark of respect for his sacrifice and dedication to the cause of peace and justice. The entire school community, including teachers and students, participated in a special prayer session. Our students performed a dance on the song "Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram," often sung by Gandhi during his struggles, and remembered his ideals of non-violence and love for humanity. Students also presented speeches highlighting important moments in Gandhi’s life and the enduring impact of his work on the world, not just in India, but globally.
Our School Coordinator, Respected Santosh Sir, led a discussion on Gandhi’s philosophy of Ahimsa (non-violence) and Satya (truth). Students shared their thoughts on how his principles can guide us in our daily lives, encouraging us to work towards harmony and understanding in our communities.
On this death anniversary, we not only remember the loss of an iconic leader but also reaffirm our dedication to his timeless values. We pledge to carry forward his legacy of promoting peace, unity, and love in all our actions.
A mock exercise and evacuation drill was conducted by Mahendra Mali Sir (MIDC Ranjangaon) on 30th January 2025 at Podar International School, Shirur to educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency like a fire.
The evacuation drill aimed to acquaint the students with the safety measures that are to be taken in case of a fire emergency in school.
At the sound of the hooter, the students and their respective teachers deftly proceeded toward the exit gates and assembled at the designated spots on the school ground. A quick headcount was done by the class teachers.
The demonstration of the use of fire extinguishers was given by Mahendra Mali Sir and supportive staff in the presence of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir, and Co-ordinators.
On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, our school organized a special assembly to celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of girls' education, rights, and empowerment. The assembly aimed to highlight the significance of gender equality and the need for a supportive environment for girls to grow and excel in all spheres of life.
A group of Grade I students presented a dance that showcased the challenges faced by girls in society and how education plays a crucial role in overcoming those obstacles. The dance received a lot of appreciation for its thoughtful and impactful message.
Our respected Principal emphasized in his speech the value of educating the girl child and empowering her to become a leader of tomorrow.
National Tourism Day is celebrated on January 25th in India to highlight the significance of tourism in the country’s economy, cultural exchange, and development. The day promotes the exploration of India’s cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and natural beauty.
At PIS Shirur, students of Grade IX took all the students and teachers on a tour by conducting a travelogue assembly. Our students explained the north, east, south, and west tourist zones and shared how to travel in these regions while highlighting the importance of significant places in each area.
Through this assembly, our students not only learned about famous places but also gained insights into the food habits, languages, costumes, and various cultural aspects of different regions of India.
The culminating event ‘Fashion Fiesta’ was organised for the students of grade II at Podar International School, Shirur.
Thematic Learning is a way of teaching and learning, whereby different subjects are connected and integrated within a theme. Thematic learning replaces the regular curriculum for the four weeks of the unit.
Our students presented the songs that they had been practicing in the Music session. They also danced in groups on "Let's Get Ready", which amazed everyone. The students performed the role plays on different seasons and types of clothes. The fashion parade by the students marked the epitome of the event. The students were dressed representing the several states and seasons.
The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Respected Principal Mr. Neeraj Rai sir and with the support of parents and the collective efforts of teachers and students of Grade II.
The students of grade IV conducted a special assembly today to celebrate Indian Army Day to honour and remember the soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
Our students shared the thought and importance of the day. A dance performed by students added a special touch to the celebrations, as it fosters patriotism and provides an opportunity for the younger generation to express their respect and gratitude toward the Indian Army.

Khandoba Yatra is a significant event, especially in rural areas, and features various cultural performances, including folk dances, music, and rituals. The students of Podar International School Shirur participated in this competition with full zeal and enthusiasm.
There were almost twenty schools that participated in two categories in this competition. We are happy to share with you that PIS Shirur bagged First Position in the group folk dance competition.

PIS Shirur conducted the House Wise Poetry competition on 13th January 2025. Each house selected two students to perform their poetry on the given topic.
The rules were clear: each house would select poets to perform their best work, but the challenge lay in the strict use of poetic patterns. Students of each house gave their best to win the competition.
The Ignis house won the competition, chased by the Terra house. While the winning house was celebrated, all participants were praised for their dedication to the art of poetry and their ability to weave intricate patterns into their work.
Our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir said that the competition was not only a celebration of poetic craftsmanship but also a testament to the student's ability to engage with both structure and spontaneity. Podar International School Shirur hosted the wonderful culminating event of grade III-Map Quest on 11th January 2025. In this unit, students connected with the elements of the map like title, symbols, directions, and scales.
The young cartographers traveled through different cities, deserts, and continents. Students experienced hands-on activities such as making miniature globes. These young explorers of grade III have experienced the innovative blending of EVS and Mathematics.
To create a safe and respectful environment for both students and staff, our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai Sir conducted a comprehensive POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) training session for all teachers at the school on 4th January 2024. This initiative aimed to equip educators with the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent and address any incidents of sexual harassment in the school setting.
The training session began with an introduction to the POSH Act, which outlines the legal framework for preventing sexual harassment in educational and workplace environments. Principal Sir also discussed the procedures for reporting complaints of sexual harassment, stressing the importance of confidentiality, sensitivity, and timely action. Teachers were informed about the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and its role in handling complaints, ensuring that all staff members were aware of the channels through which they could raise concerns or seek support. Respected Sir emphasized that everyone has a role to play in maintaining a safe school environment, and teachers must lead by example in setting boundaries and promoting respect among students.

The ceremony began with floral tributes to her portrait, remembering her vision and dedication to empowering women through education. The students of Grade IX shared information about Savitribai Phule and also performed a drama that highlighted her role in promoting education for girls and shaping modern education.

Pune Zilla Parishad, Department of Education (Primary and Secondary), Pune, Panchayat Samiti (Department of Education) Shirur, and Shirur Education Broadcasting Board, C. T. Bora College Shirur organized the 'Shirur Taluka Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition' on 27th December and 28th December 2024, held at C. T. Bora College. Around 78 schools participated in this competition.
The students of Podar International School Shirur participated in this competition in large numbers. In the Elocution competition from the Senior group, Adwait Patil (Grade VIII) and Mudit Tare (Grade IX) received participation certificates. In the Science Quiz Competition, Arnav Pandey, Viraj Chavan, and Hardik Dey (Grade IX) received participation certificates, whereas Ojas Kulkarni also received a participation certificate in the Model Making Competition.
A competition was also organized for teachers for Making Teaching Aids. Megha Tare, Science teacher at PIS Shirur, bagged the second position in this competition, and Leelarani Ma'am received a participation certificate for the same.

Podar International School Shirur celebrated the 11th Annual Sports Day with the theme, Prayas 2.0 on 24th December 2024 amidst a lot of fun and frolic.
The eventful day began with welcoming Chief Guest Mr. G. B. Patil Sir, Principal of Podar International School Sangli, and Guest of Honour Mr. Ashok Shirke Sir (Karnataka Kesari, Maharashtra Kesari).
The Sports Day programme began with the lighting of the lamp. The students of Grades VI to IX performed a March Past. It was a mesmerizing and eye-catching performance, showcasing perfect coordination and discipline. This was followed by the Oath-taking ceremony.
Thereafter, there were some fun and athletic races for Grades IV to IX. Students displayed their vigour and athletic talents, which were appreciated by everyone present on the ground.
Adding a cultural touch to the event, students also presented a captivating dance performance that enthralled the audience. From graceful dances to melodious musical presentations, these performances highlighted the artistic talents of the students, making the day even more memorable. Meanwhile, certificates and medals were awarded to the winners who participated in various games conducted during the sports week.
Our Chief Guest, G. B. Patil Sir, congratulated the students for their sportsmanship. "Your enthusiasm and interest were reflected in the sports," he said. The Connect Circle serves as a supportive environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. Connect Circle activity was conducted at PIS Shirur for teachers by our Wellness teacher, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am.
Teachers were asked to note down the good qualities of their colleagues in one or two words. After collecting all the chits, teachers picked up the chits one by one, read them, and guessed the quality mentioned on it that matched the personality of the teachers.
After completing the activity, we had a brief reflection period where we discussed how it felt to receive feedback and what we’ve learned about each other’s interpersonal strengths. At the end, the Wellness teacher took feedback on the activity after conducting the Connect Circle.
Our teachers enjoyed the Connect Circle immensely and thanked Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am for conducting such a thoughtful and engaging activity for them.
Podar International School's PT-2 Open House was held on 14th December 2024. It was a demonstration of the school's commitment to providing high-quality education and extracurricular activities. Parents explored the school’s facilities and interacted with the dedicated faculty throughout the day.
The Open House aims to showcase pupils' performances for parents, guardians, and other pupils to see. This is also a platform for pupils to demonstrate their skills, talents, and progress in various areas such as academics, arts, or their Fun Learning Activities.
It further helps parents and guardians understand their child's development, encourages their confidence, and fosters a supportive connection between teachers, parents, and students.
To enhance understanding of symmetry by experimenting with different shapes and discovering how patterns repeat in both horizontal and vertical axes, Prism was conducted at PIS Shirur. The students of Grade IV presented a play introducing artists who work with patterns, such as S.H. Raza, Piet Mondrian, and Andy Warhol.
Class-wise activities were conducted on various topics by the teachers of Grades I to VIII. Students created various patterns using matchsticks and ice cream sticks and wrote about their designs and observations.
Throughout the activity, students worked both individually and in groups, collaborating and discussing their findings with peers. They also learned to recognize and replicate different types of symmetry, such as rotational and reflectional symmetry.
Overall, the Pattern Prism activity was a successful combination of learning and creativity, fostering both critical thinking and artistic expression among students.
Under the theme "Plastic Plastic Everywhere," our brilliant students from Grades I to VIII showcased creative and innovative solutions to combat plastic pollution and promote sustainability. With engaging models, projects, and ideas, they impressed everyone with their commitment to saving our planet!
The event featured a variety of activities designed to showcase student learning and promote awareness regarding plastic issues. Our students amazed everyone with their imagination, creativity, and thinking skills.

Rejoicing this unique Spirit of Childhood, Children's Day was celebrated with immense joy and splendor at Podar International School, Shirur. The students came dressed up in the best of their attire to celebrate the day dedicated to their innocence. They were heartily welcomed by our teachers.
To make them feel special on this day, our teachers conducted a special assembly and sang a song and shayari for them. Various funny games were planned in the classroom, and sweets were distributed among the students. It was a day filled with a lot of amusement for the children.

On 16th October 2024, PIS Shirur hosted its inaugural Youth Parliament session, where students from grades VI to IX demonstrated their debating and legislative skills. The event began with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, Mrs. Sonam Pisal Ma'am and Mrs. Usha Puri Goswami Ma'am, followed by the Speaker declaring the session open. Students engaged in insightful discussions on crucial topics like Women's Empowerment, Roadways, and Water Supply, emphasizing the need for gender equality and opportunities for women in society. The session also included a lively Q&A, where students further showcased their depth of understanding of these vital issues.
The event was meticulously planned and guided by the SST teachers, including Annasaheb Rakshe, Nalini Rakshe, and Liladhar Badgujar, with Roshan Kalambarkar sir coordinating the activities. The Thematic Unit: 'Fit and Fun' concluded with the culminating event 'Fitness Boot Camp' at PIS Shirur.
The program started with a song recitation. Dances were performed by each section. Our students made quick and healthy snacks that fuel their bodies for physical activities. They also designed and presented posters and pamphlets about various health topics, such as balanced diets, exercise routines, mental health tips, and hygiene practices.
Through this event, our students learned about different types of games and their benefits. Parents also witnessed the event and were involved in various activities.

Water, food, and a healthy body are the most important aspects of human beings, bringing collaboration between real life and study. Thematic units are the best activities that Podarites experience in Academics.
Grade II celebrated the "I am Alive" theme for the Thematic unit, where students collaborated on EVS, Maths, Crafts, Music, and Dance. All of them participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Parents witnessed this event on a larger scale.
The program started with a song recitation. Dances were performed by each section. Our students demonstrated models of the human body, balanced diet, types of food, and the internal and external organs, represented with exciting models.
Parents were fascinated by watching the skills and role-play performances done by students.
The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, addressed the occasion, emphasizing that such activities, which bring out competency, need to be inculcated in academics. This is the new motive of CBSE, which we are fulfilling through such activities.
It's a day dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, advocating for mental health education, and promoting mental well-being worldwide. This day serves as a reminder to prioritize mental health, seek help when needed, and support others in their mental health journeys. It's also an opportunity to challenge stigma and encourage conversations about mental well-being.

On this day, various activities are conducted for the students. Grade I drew pictures about things that make them happy. These could be anything that fills them with joy, makes them smile, or cheers them up. Grades II and III wrote worksheets and drew pictures on the topic "I Am Grateful". Grades IV to VII enjoyed "My Heart Map" and "Self Care Cup" activities.
Grade 8 and 9 participated in a Poster Making Competition about Mental Health Awareness.
The culminating event "Look where we live" was organised by Podar International School, Shirur. The students of Grade I participated in this event with zeal and enthusiasm. They dressed in colourful clothes and stood at different neighborhoods and talked about all the different places and people in their neighborhood.
They focused on presenting the roles of Doctor, Nurse, Security guard, Greengrocer, Policeman, Postman, Teacher, Lawyer, etc.
The event provided opportunities for the students to showcase their talent and learning. The exciting event gave students a platform for sharing the experiences they had during this thematic unit.
The students of grades VI to X embarked on an exciting trip to Sneh Resort on 8th October 2024. The purpose of the trip was to foster teamwork, encourage relaxation, and explore the beautiful natural surroundings.
Throughout our stay, students participated in a variety of activities including pendulum rides, a Sulfar car, a 3D movie show, a Missile Exhibition, a train ride, a Puppet show, a Rajasthani Dance with student participation, pottery making, tattoos, swings, slides, Merry-go-Round, Mirror image and many more. At the end, students danced on the playground with their friends.
The Sneh Resort trip was a resounding success, promoting friendship and self-discovery. We are thankful to the respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, for giving this wonderful opportunity to the students.
To mark the onset of the auspicious festival season, Podar International School Shirur organized a mega 'Dandiya Night' in its truest and most traditional form on 5th October 2024.
The whole school campus was decorated in shimmering colours and it seemed that the colourful Navratri festival of Gujarat had come fully alive in the school.
The celebration started by seeking blessings from Goddess Durga, followed by the lighting of the lamp and inauguration of the celebration by our honourable Chief Guest Dr. Anesh Jain, Guest of Honour Sachin Shah, judges Ms. Priya Biradar, Mr. Sandeep Wavhal, Prof. N.M. Ghangaonkar, respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir, Coordinators Santosh Shinde sir and Roshan Kalambarkar sir.
The school campus looked like a mini Gujarat, with all the students, parents, and teachers; all dressed up in traditional Gujarati attire and dancing to the rhythmic Dandiya beats! The rhythmic sounds of dandiya sticks and graceful movements of garba filled the air with festive fervour.
Our skillful and well-experienced judges checked the different parameters and chose selected members as winners. Among them, Best Costume- male and female, Best Dancer- male and female, and Best Group Dance were given Trophies and certificates for the best performance. It was an exciting moment when the Star Dancer of the Night was announced.
The Dandiya celebration was indeed a great event that was not only enjoyed but also appreciated by both the students and their loving parents.

Podar International School Shirur organized a day trip for the students on 4th October 2024. We had an amazing time visiting Meher Trip. Our students engaged in a variety of activities like Bullock cart rides, Tractor rides, Bird Safari, and waterfall. They made various cartoons.
The trip also enjoyed a play area, swings, slides, a magic show, and an observatory where they saw trees from the top and Matoba Lake. All the classes danced and had a lot of fun with their friends. This experience has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on all of us!
Swatchhata Hi Seva has now become a mass movement aimed at creating awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. To encourage the spirit of cleanliness, CBSE celebrated the Cleanliness Drive for Swabhav Swatchhata and Sanskar Swatchhata from 17th September to 2nd October 2024.
Our school organized a campaign, "Swatchhata Hi Seva," for the students of grades VI to X on 2nd October, in which students participated with great enthusiasm and fervor alongside their teachers.
The students prepared colorful and catchy slogans and banners promoting cleanliness and hygiene practices. All teachers and students gathered at 7 am to clean the surrounding areas of the school, turning into real brand ambassadors of this Swatchhata Mission.
The activities aimed to spread awareness among students about keeping their surroundings neat and clean to lead a healthy life and avoid diseases.
The importance of Swachhata was discussed by our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, who emphasized the duty of maintaining cleanliness towards the school, city, and country, wherever they go. He encouraged students to adopt cleanliness as a habit to ensure a better, cleaner, and healthier tomorrow.
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress. It impacts our ability to parent effectively, leading to decreased patience and strained relationships with our children.
A Managing Parents Burnout Session was organized at PIS Shirur for the parents of grades I to X, conducted by our counselor, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma’am. The session began with a wonderful activity called Parenting Superpower, where parents explained their unique superpowers and how they plan to utilize these strengths in their parenting.
Our counselor Ma’am explained why parental burnout occurs, citing reasons such as over-commitments, high expectations, and lack of self-care. She continued the session by discussing several strategies to avoid burnout, including setting realistic expectations, establishing boundaries, rediscovering passions, and prioritizing self-care.
During the session, parents were asked to write a letter to their younger selves, providing advice and wisdom to help navigate the journey of parenthood. They were encouraged to compose heartfelt letters, offering valuable insights.
Parents shared their experiences and what they wrote in their letters. They appreciated the session conducted by the school and provided valuable feedback about the program. The Parent Teacher Meeting is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to develop a healthy and strong relationship for the holistic development of the child. Parents play an equally important role as teachers in the positive development of the child.
The Second PTA Meeting was held at PIS Shirur on 30th September 2024. The meeting began with the lighting of the lamp, and the Primary Coordinator, Pratima Kashikar, welcomed the PTA members.
Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, informed the parents about students' achievements in sports, upcoming events, the Cleanliness Drive, Grade IX and X registration, school trip, Dandiya celebration, thematic events, Annual Day celebration, date of the Half Yearly Exam Open House, Diwali vacation, and classes during the Diwali vacation for grade X.

The Connect Circle serves as a supportive environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. It provides a safe space for introspection, reflection, and the opportunity to vent feelings. The Connect Circle activity was conducted at PIS Shirur for teachers by our Wellness Teacher, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am.
During the session, teachers were asked to write a story using different colors that represent various expressions. While crafting their stories, they were encouraged to consider the emotions associated with each color.
Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am invited the teachers to share their experiences and discussed how emotions are essential for bringing change in our thought processes, which in turn affects our behavior patterns. This activity promoted emotional awareness and provided a creative, visual way for participants to connect emotions with colors.
At the end of the session, the Wellness Teacher gathered feedback on the activity. Our teachers thoroughly enjoyed the Connect Circle and expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am for conducting such a wonderful activity for them.
Under the Jumpstart Activity for grade III, Dr. Prasanna Bihani was invited to guide our students under the thematic unit Fit and Fun.
The objective was to explore the intersection of fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle among students.
Dr. Prasanna sir highlighted the numerous benefits of regular exercise, including improved mood, enhanced cognitive function, and reduced stress levels. He recommended a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Sir also suggested various ways to make fitness enjoyable, such as joining group classes, trying new sports, or engaging in outdoor activities.
The discussion touched on the strong link between physical fitness and mental health. Dr. Prasanna sir also shared strategies to manage stress through exercise, mindfulness, and adequate sleep.

Podar International School Shirur organized a Cleanliness Drive (under the Podar Volunteer Program) on 19th September 2024. The initiative aimed to instill the importance of cleanliness and hygiene among students, encourage teamwork and community spirit, and educate students on sustainable practices and waste management.
The students of grade VIII participated alongside teachers and volunteers in this event. Our students visited the Visarjan Ghat at Ramling near Bhairavnath Temple. They were divided into groups and assigned different areas for cleanliness. Equipped with gloves and bags, they enthusiastically collected litter, learning about the impact of waste on the environment.
The Cleanliness Drive was a remarkable success, achieving its objectives and leaving a positive impact on the school community. We encourage everyone to continue practicing cleanliness in their daily lives and look forward to organizing more such events in the future.

Podar International School Shirur celebrated 'Hindi Diwas' with much enthusiasm on 14th September 2024. The celebration highlighted the importance of our mother tongue, Hindi, and commemorated the historic occasion when Hindi was adopted as the official language of India.
The day began by invoking the Lord's blessings, with students singing prayer songs in Hindi to seek God's grace on this auspicious occasion.
Students from grade VIII showcased poetry recitations and cultural programs to mark the celebration. The Nukkad Natak presented by the students received admiration from the audience. Our Hindi Teacher, Rohit Khomane sir, also shared his thoughts and discussed the significance of Hindi Diwas.

What a joyous and heartwarming celebration of Ganesh Visarjan we had today at Podar International School Shirur! The entire school community came together with immense devotion and enthusiasm to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha, symbolizing the removal of obstacles and new beginnings.
The day was filled with cultural performances, devotional songs, and traditional rituals performed by our students and teachers. From the heartfelt aarti to the vibrant procession, everyone joined in, making this event truly memorable. The energy and unity displayed by our students were uplifting.
Students from each grade were invited to seek blessings during the six days of Bappa’s arrival. Our Council Members, along with teachers, admin staff, and non-class teachers, led the aarti, offering prayers and devotional songs in honor of Lord Ganesha.
On the day of farewell, the idols were immersed in a large tub filled with water, and the clay-filled water was then poured over the lush green campus. The atmosphere was alive with devotion as we invoked the blessings of Ganpati Bappa.
Special appreciation goes to our eco-conscious students who ensured that the visarjan followed environmentally friendly practices by immersing eco-friendly Ganesha idols.
The ceremony concluded with the sweet taste of prasadam, symbolizing the sharing of divine blessings and boundless love.

Podar International School Shirur organized a Ganesh Idol Making Workshop for the students of grades IV and V on 6th September 2024.
The workshop began with an interactive lecture that taught our children about recycling and reusing.
This was followed by an elaborate demonstration of idol-making. Our Drawing teacher, Kishor Kale sir, showcased the idol-making process by creating the idol in front of the students. They learned the correct techniques for cutting, holding, and rolling the clay.
The students crafted beautiful mice for their Ganesh idols, which featured various ornaments and turbans, including the Puneri pagadi and the pheta!
Each student received individual guidance, which was reflected in the stunning idols they created by the end of the workshop.
Everyone left happy with their idols, and many decided to worship them during the upcoming Ganesh festival.
The workshop provided numerous takeaways for the students, including enjoyment of clay, learning a new art form, working collaboratively with friends, a love for nature, and the importance of recycling. Overall, the workshop was a huge success, with an overwhelming response.

During this unit, students learned about different types of plants and their various parts, as well as the essential types and uses of soil through a variety of theme-based activities.
The "ECO Detectives" event received positive attention from parents, highlighting its impact and raising awareness about environmental issues.

During the session, the Wellness Teacher instructed the participating teachers to reflect on themselves and write down a few compliments they would like to give themselves, as well as some constructive criticism regarding things they wish to improve. They did this on a sheet of paper with a pen, accompanied by soft instrumental music playing in the background.
All the participating teachers stood in a circle and began tucking a paper plate behind each participant using a safety pin. They wrote compliments on the paper plate attached to their back using colorful pens.
At the end of the activity, the Wellness Teacher gathered feedback on the Connect Circle. Our teachers thoroughly enjoyed the experience and expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Snehal Daundkar for conducting such a wonderful activity.
Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna. Podar International School celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with zeal and enthusiasm. Students of grades I and II dressed up as Krishna and Radha.
Students of grade IV performed a dance as a part of the Janmashtami celebration. A ‘Matki Phod’ event was organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Gopal’.
Students delivered a speech to remind us of the importance of ‘Krishna Janmashtami’ and the traditional folk of our nation.

Podar International School, Shirur is happy to announce the successful completion of the SAFAL (Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning) by CBSE. The online exam was held between 22nd July and 5th August 2024.
The SAFAL Exam is a crucial assessment designed by CBSE to evaluate students' academic progress and analyze their learning.
The students of grades V and VIII appeared in the online exam for EVS, Science, Maths, and English assessment. A team of trained teachers was assigned to conduct the entire exam process. The exam was conducted error-free and very smoothly by our team.
The CBSE-SAFAL examination committee, guided by our Coordinator as well as SAFAL Nodal Officer Roshan Kalambarkar sir, along with the team, contributed to the successful conduction of the SAFAL Exam 2024.

Grade II students expressed their views on the topic of Independence Day and remembered the sacrifice of the great freedom fighters by participating in patriotic speeches with iconic quotes and recalling the struggles of our great leaders.

To celebrate the anniversary of Indian independence, Deccan Education Society English Medium School, Pasaydan Foundation Shirur, Aviskar Social and Educational Foundation Shirur, and Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Branch Shirur organized an Inter-School Choir Singing Competition at Deccan School, Baburao Nagar Shirur on 12th August 2024.

To equip teachers with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to prevent and address bullying effectively, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students, an Anti-Bullying, Zero Tolerance Policy, and Sexual Harassment session was conducted for the teachers under the guidance of respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, at PIS, Shirur.
The Anti-Bullying session was conducted by our teachers, Ms. Shubhangi Achpal and Ms. Snehal Daundkar.
Teachers explained how to recognize bullying behavior, signs of bullying, behavioral indicators, creating a positive school climate, and guiding our children about what is good and bad and their consequences and effects.
The Zero Tolerance towards Corporal Punishment and Sexual Harassment session was conducted by our Coordinator, Mr. Roshan Kalambarkar sir.
Sir started by explaining the purpose of the session, which is to ensure a safe and respectful environment for both students and staff.
Sir clearly defined what constitutes sexual harassment, including examples such as inappropriate comments, gestures, and advances. He outlined relevant laws and institutional policies related to sexual harassment, emphasized the zero-tolerance policy, and discussed the consequences of violating it.
Respected sir also discussed various ways to prevent harassment, such as setting clear boundaries and maintaining professionalism.
This session aimed to empower teachers with the tools they need to address and prevent bullying, and to abide by school policies, ensuring a supportive and safe learning environment for all students.
Nag Panchami, a traditional Hindu festival dedicated to snakes, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at our school this year. The event, marked on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of Shravan, holds cultural and spiritual significance across India.
The day began with a special assembly conducted by Grade IV where students gathered to learn about the mythology and rituals associated with Nag Panchami. Our students performed a mesmerizing dance and delivered information about this celebration.
Students learned the ecological importance of snakes and how they contribute to maintaining the balance of nature.
The celebration concluded on a positive note with students gaining a deeper understanding of Indian culture and traditions.
Our school organized a motivational session for Grade X students conducted by esteemed alumni Rishi Kothari. The session aimed to inspire and guide students as they approach a crucial phase in their academic journey and prepare for future challenges.
The alumnus shared his personal journeys, highlighting challenges he faced during his school years and how he overcame them. He provided valuable insights into various career paths, emphasizing the importance of exploring interests and setting goals early on. Practical tips on effective study habits, time management, and exam preparation techniques were shared.
Students learned about prioritizing tasks, staying organized, and seeking help when needed, which are crucial skills for academic success. A lively Q&A session followed, allowing students to ask specific questions about career choices.
The session left a profound impact on Grade X students, inspiring them to set higher goals and pursue their dreams with renewed vigor. Many students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from a successful alumnus who once walked the same halls and faced similar challenges.
An Anti-Bullying session has been conducted at Podar International School Shirur for grades I to X using different activities with the objectives of reducing bullying instances in school and also spreading awareness about bullying and its effect on students.
The session was conducted class-wise by Class teachers under the guidance of the respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir.
The students showed great interest in the session conducted and there was maximum participation from all the students.
Podar International School Shirur conducted the Career Vision Program for the students of grades IX and X. Our counselor Ms. Snehal Dundkar Ma'am discussed and guided parents about different career opportunities for the students after grade X. They can have career opportunities in Finance, Accounting, and Banking, Insurance, Arts, Management, Law, Hospitality, Mass Media etc.
The school is going to conduct a vocational assessment test and IQ test for the students to make them understand their abilities and interests. These tests will help them to choose their careers.
The program ended with a fruitful discussion with our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir. Parents asked various questions regarding career opportunities and vision. Sir guided and motivated parents by sharing some examples related to career opportunities.
Sensitizing children about various issues like, good touch and bad touch makes them emotionally strong and helps them to grow normally, PIS Shirur organized a workshop on “Good Touch Vs Bad Touch”, "Teenager issues and Solutions", and "Friendship" on the 24th, July 2024 for grades I to VIII students. A group of dedicated, smart and active staff of Sanvadini Social Organisations successfully conducted a wonderful session.
The Seminar taught the children how to identify the 'No Touch' areas, understand who are 'Safe Adults' and how to communicate with parents about any bad experience. The seminar also highlighted how to handle a bad touch by shouting 'NO', running away from the person and informing a safe adult about the same.
With this session, children will now be able to recognize and protect themselves against such dangers from an early age.”
Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir thanked to Sanvadini Group for the staggering session. Good touch and bad touch would typically emphasize creating a safe environment for students and promoting awareness about appropriate and inappropriate physical contact.
Podar International School, Shirur conducted a Culminating Event Comic Verses Extravaganza - 'Unleashing Comic Superpowers' Under the IE Theme - 'Ink and Imagination: Crafting Tales through Comics.
The event saw its commence by lighting the lamp, followed by the dance performance of grade III students.
The students of grades I and II dressed up themselves into various cartoon characters and amazed everyone with their attire by doing a ramp walk in the assembly. Wherein the students of grades III and IV introduced themselves as their favorite characters.
The students of grades V to VIII transformed their classrooms into comic wonderlands with Comic strips, Comic merchandise displays, and Comic hero posters.
The students of all the grades visited and went through this information. The enthusiasm and creativity on display were truly inspiring! Our students had an amazing time exploring the world of comics and learning through this unique event.
Our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir appreciated the students for their creativity shown in the event. Sir also stated that such events boost their confidence and prepare them for the future.
A unique assembly….World Emoji Day
Communication in the present age goes far beyond typing long text messages. Who knew that one could have a meaningful conversation without any words? A glance at social media feeds or text messages on chat groups shows a number of smiley faces, flying hearts, hugs, laugh out loud.
To recognize the importance of emojis in our daily lives, an assembly was conducted on the occasion of World Emoji Day celebrated on 17th July every year worldwide. Students prepared various emojis and presented in the assembly by sharing facts and information about the new universal language of visual pictographs. The assembly brought out the idea of identifying and expressing emotions and also becoming sensitive towards other’s emotions.
The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly and explained that Emojis are more than just symbols; they're a universal language that bridges cultures and generations. Remember, while emojis are fun, effective communication still relies on clear and thoughtful expression. So, as we enjoy today's festivities, let's also embrace the power of words.

It is said that children learn from their experiences and observations so at Podar International School Shirur celebrated various festivals to give them real-life experiences. The very first festival of the year that we celebrated was Ashadhi Ekadashi. Our enthusiastic students participated in this celebration. The children came to school dressed up as little warkaris carrying cymbals in their hands and wearing rosaries around their necks. Girls wore a nine-yard sari and basil pot on their heads.
The performances of the day were filled with different shades of celebration. The students from grades V and VI sang the song "Dindi Magun Dindi Aali" and danced to the song Mauli Mauli Roop Tujhe".
The school premises were full of these little warkaris. Older students carried an attractive palkhi in the school premises decorated with flowers and photos of Lord Vithal in it followed by all little warkaris.
Later all the participants gathered at the entrance of the school. They all sang Lord Vithal's aarti along with our respected Principal sir, Coordinators and Admin Officer. The celebration brought in a feeling of devotion and spirituality amongst the students. PIS Shirur premises were not as usual but turned into a mini Pandharpur.
On the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir extended heartfelt greetings to all. Ashadhi Ekadashi reminds us of the importance of spirituality in our lives. It encourages us to reflect on our values and renew our commitment to righteousness and compassion.

The Open House provided opportunities for meaningful interactions. Parents engaged in conversations with teachers, discussing not only academic progress but also extracurricular activities and support services available to students.
As the event drew to a close, we collected valuable feedback from parents, which will guide our efforts in planning future events.
The Open House at PIS Shirur was a resounding success. It reaffirmed our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and excellence in education.

PIS Shirur has organized A Fire Mock Drill to create awareness among the students on the school premises, and to prepare students and teachers for any such eventuality under the fire risk reduction program.
The purpose is to know about disaster management and evacuation drills involving students and teachers conducted for grades I to X to create awareness among the students about firefighting techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergencies, to check the readiness of the school to face any such a fire emergency and also to make the students and staff aware about the Fire Fighting Rescue Operation.
The students were escorted by the subject teachers to the school grounds in two minutes and forty seconds safely. They were advised not to panic in case of any disaster they were instructed to be with the teachers at the time of disaster and follow the instruction given to them by the Team.
Our Administrative officer, Mr. Vijaykumar Patil sir gave the information about how to use fire extinguishers, types of fires and extinguishers.
It was really an experiential learning for the students. They also learned how to operate fire extinguishers at the time of any fire.
The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the students by saying that during the drill, it is important that you take it seriously and follow instructions promptly. Listen carefully to your teachers or assigned personnel who will guide you through the evacuation process. Your cooperation and participation are crucial in making sure that everyone understands what to do in case of a fire.

This day is celebrated as the remembrance of the father of the Green Revolution of Maharashtra Dr. Vasantrao Naik.
Celebrating Agriculture Day in school is a wonderful opportunity to educate students about the significance of agriculture and farming in our lives.
Students of Grade II Pearl performed a special assembly on this occasion. Anchor students informed the day special and all related information of Maharashtra Agriculture Day. They performed a special dance on Farmer's theme.
On the occasion of Agriculture Day, Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly by extending warmest greetings to everyone involved in agriculture and farming. Today, we celebrate not just the vital role of agriculture in our economy but also the dedication and hard work of our farmers who tirelessly contribute to feeding our nation.

Student Council is a platform for students to inculcate interpersonal and leadership skills by enabling them to play an active role in organizing and carrying out various school activities.
Podar International School, Shirur has conducted the first meeting with newly elected student council members. The meeting of students was conducted by our Coordinator Roshan Kalambarkar Sir under the guidance of respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir.
All newly elected members were welcomed and they introduced themselves.
Sir guided students about setting goals, and priorities, working in collaboration, teamwork, maintaining discipline, promoting English communication, students participating in upcoming events and activities, and creating awareness among students about saving water.
Every council member's role and responsibility was told by Head Boy and Head Girl. They also shared their ideas and though and held thoroughly discussion on it.
Students were very enthusiastic and interested to take charge and perform their responsibilities.
We are happy to share with you that our Council members already started working on their duties by conducting this First Council Members meeting successfully. Each and every minute planning and execution was done by our council members.

The International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June at PIS Shirur to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline in our students.
Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried out every day. Children got the chance to know how yoga embodies the unity of mind and body.
The students of grades I to X, along with the teachers performed Yoga. Different yoga postures like Tadasana, Kati chakrasana, Padahastasana, Vajrasana, Mandukasana, Kapalabhati, Bhramari Pranayama, Kapalabhati pranayama, Shanti mantra were performed by our students. Prayers were recited before and after the programme.
The celebration took place successfully under the guidance of respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir. Yoga tries to establish the relationship between your mind, body, heart and soul. If you want to improve your concentration level and physical health, you should do yoga regularly.
