Open House was conducted in Podar International School Shirur on 19th October 2024. A little progress each day adds up to a big result. Youth Parliament Session at PIS Shirur 'A Grand Success' - 2024

On 16th October 2024, PIS Shirur hosted its inaugural Youth Parliament session, where students from grades VI to IX demonstrated their debating and legislative skills. The event began with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, Mrs. Sonam Pisal Ma'am and Mrs. Usha Puri Goswami Ma'am, followed by the Speaker declaring the session open. Students engaged in insightful discussions on crucial topics like Women's Empowerment, Roadways, and Water Supply, emphasizing the need for gender equality and opportunities for women in society. The session also included a lively Q&A, where students further showcased their depth of understanding of these vital issues.

The event was meticulously planned and guided by the SST teachers, including Annasaheb Rakshe, Nalini Rakshe, and Liladhar Badgujar, with Roshan Kalambarkar sir coordinating the activities. Their hard work and guidance enabled students to confidently express their views and actively participate in this platform, making the session a success. The participants' eloquence and thoughtfulness were highly praised by the guests, who encouraged them to continue engaging with societal issues.

Thematic Unit 'Grade 3 - Fit and Fun' - 2024

The Thematic Unit: 'Fit and Fun' concluded with the culminating event 'Fitness Boot Camp' at PIS Shirur.

The program started with a song recitation. Dances were performed by each section. Our students made quick and healthy snacks that fuel their bodies for physical activities. They also designed and presented posters and pamphlets about various health topics, such as balanced diets, exercise routines, mental health tips, and hygiene practices.

Through this event, our students learned about different types of games and their benefits. Parents also witnessed the event and were involved in various activities.

Thematic Culminating Event 'Grade 2 - I Am Alive' - 2024

"Water is not luxury but necessary"

Water, food, and a healthy body are the most important aspects of human beings, bringing collaboration between real life and study. Thematic units are the best activities that Podarites experience in Academics.

Grade II celebrated the "I am Alive" theme for the Thematic unit, where students collaborated on EVS, Maths, Crafts, Music, and Dance. All of them participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Parents witnessed this event on a larger scale.

The program started with a song recitation. Dances were performed by each section. Our students demonstrated models of the human body, balanced diet, types of food, and the internal and external organs, represented with exciting models.

Parents were fascinated by watching the skills and role-play performances done by students.

The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, addressed the occasion, emphasizing that such activities, which bring out competency, need to be inculcated in academics. This is the new motive of CBSE, which we are fulfilling through such activities.

World Mental Health Day Celebration - 2024

It's a day dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, advocating for mental health education, and promoting mental well-being worldwide. This day serves as a reminder to prioritize mental health, seek help when needed, and support others in their mental health journeys. It's also an opportunity to challenge stigma and encourage conversations about mental well-being.

Musical Chair with a twist for teachers

On this day, various activities are conducted for the students. Grade I drew pictures about things that make them happy. These could be anything that fills them with joy, makes them smile, or cheers them up. Grades II and III wrote worksheets and drew pictures on the topic "I Am Grateful". Grades IV to VII enjoyed "My Heart Map" and "Self Care Cup" activities.

Grade 8 and 9 participated in a Poster Making Competition about Mental Health Awareness.

Culminating Event 'Grade 1 - Look where we live' - 2024

The culminating event "Look where we live" was organised by Podar International School, Shirur. The students of Grade I participated in this event with zeal and enthusiasm. They dressed in colourful clothes and stood at different neighborhoods and talked about all the different places and people in their neighborhood.

They focused on presenting the roles of Doctor, Nurse, Security guard, Greengrocer, Policeman, Postman, Teacher, Lawyer, etc.

The event provided opportunities for the students to showcase their talent and learning. The exciting event gave students a platform for sharing the experiences they had during this thematic unit.

Sneh Resort Trip - 2024

The students of grades VI to X embarked on an exciting trip to Sneh Resort on 8th October 2024. The purpose of the trip was to foster teamwork, encourage relaxation, and explore the beautiful natural surroundings.

Throughout our stay, students participated in a variety of activities including pendulum rides, a Sulfar car, a 3D movie show, a Missile Exhibition, a train ride, a Puppet show, a Rajasthani Dance with student participation, pottery making, tattoos, swings, slides, Merry-go-Round, Mirror image and many more. At the end, students danced on the playground with their friends.

The Sneh Resort trip was a resounding success, promoting friendship and self-discovery. We are thankful to the respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, for giving this wonderful opportunity to the students.

Dandiya Celebration - 2024

To mark the onset of the auspicious festival season, Podar International School Shirur organized a mega 'Dandiya Night' in its truest and most traditional form on 5th October 2024.

The whole school campus was decorated in shimmering colours and it seemed that the colourful Navratri festival of Gujarat had come fully alive in the school.

The celebration started by seeking blessings from Goddess Durga, followed by the lighting of the lamp and inauguration of the celebration by our honourable Chief Guest Dr. Anesh Jain, Guest of Honour Sachin Shah, judges Ms. Priya Biradar, Mr. Sandeep Wavhal, Prof. N.M. Ghangaonkar, respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir, Coordinators Santosh Shinde sir and Roshan Kalambarkar sir.

The school campus looked like a mini Gujarat, with all the students, parents, and teachers; all dressed up in traditional Gujarati attire and dancing to the rhythmic Dandiya beats! The rhythmic sounds of dandiya sticks and graceful movements of garba filled the air with festive fervour.

Our skillful and well-experienced judges checked the different parameters and chose selected members as winners. Among them, Best Costume- male and female, Best Dancer- male and female, and Best Group Dance were given Trophies and certificates for the best performance. It was an exciting moment when the Star Dancer of the Night was announced.

The Dandiya celebration was indeed a great event that was not only enjoyed but also appreciated by both the students and their loving parents.

Meher Retreat for grades I to V - 2024

Podar International School Shirur organized a day trip for the students on 4th October 2024. We had an amazing time visiting Meher Trip. Our students engaged in a variety of activities like Bullock cart rides, Tractor rides, Bird Safari, and waterfall. They made various cartoons.

The trip also enjoyed a play area, swings, slides, a magic show, and an observatory where they saw trees from the top and Matoba Lake. All the classes danced and had a lot of fun with their friends. This experience has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on all of us!

Cleanliness Drive 'Swatchhata Hi Seva' - 2024

Swatchhata Hi Seva has now become a mass movement aimed at creating awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. To encourage the spirit of cleanliness, CBSE celebrated the Cleanliness Drive for Swabhav Swatchhata and Sanskar Swatchhata from 17th September to 2nd October 2024.

Our school organized a campaign, "Swatchhata Hi Seva," for the students of grades VI to X on 2nd October, in which students participated with great enthusiasm and fervor alongside their teachers.

The students prepared colorful and catchy slogans and banners promoting cleanliness and hygiene practices. All teachers and students gathered at 7 am to clean the surrounding areas of the school, turning into real brand ambassadors of this Swatchhata Mission.

The activities aimed to spread awareness among students about keeping their surroundings neat and clean to lead a healthy life and avoid diseases.

The importance of Swachhata was discussed by our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, who emphasized the duty of maintaining cleanliness towards the school, city, and country, wherever they go. He encouraged students to adopt cleanliness as a habit to ensure a better, cleaner, and healthier tomorrow.

Managing Parent Burnout Nurturing The Nurturers - 2024

Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress. It impacts our ability to parent effectively, leading to decreased patience and strained relationships with our children.

A Managing Parents Burnout Session was organized at PIS Shirur for the parents of grades I to X, conducted by our counselor, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma’am. The session began with a wonderful activity called Parenting Superpower, where parents explained their unique superpowers and how they plan to utilize these strengths in their parenting.

Our counselor Ma’am explained why parental burnout occurs, citing reasons such as over-commitments, high expectations, and lack of self-care. She continued the session by discussing several strategies to avoid burnout, including setting realistic expectations, establishing boundaries, rediscovering passions, and prioritizing self-care.

During the session, parents were asked to write a letter to their younger selves, providing advice and wisdom to help navigate the journey of parenthood. They were encouraged to compose heartfelt letters, offering valuable insights.

Parents shared their experiences and what they wrote in their letters. They appreciated the session conducted by the school and provided valuable feedback about the program. We extend our gratitude to our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, for allowing us to conduct this session and communicate with the parents.

Second Parent Teacher Association Meeting - 2024

The Parent Teacher Meeting is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to develop a healthy and strong relationship for the holistic development of the child. Parents play an equally important role as teachers in the positive development of the child.

The Second PTA Meeting was held at PIS Shirur on 30th September 2024. The meeting began with the lighting of the lamp, and the Primary Coordinator, Pratima Kashikar, welcomed the PTA members.

Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, informed the parents about students' achievements in sports, upcoming events, the Cleanliness Drive, Grade IX and X registration, school trip, Dandiya celebration, thematic events, Annual Day celebration, date of the Half Yearly Exam Open House, Diwali vacation, and classes during the Diwali vacation for grade X.

The PTM concluded with the understanding that the joint effort, mutual understanding, and cooperation of parents and teachers are vital for the proper progress of students. PIS Shirur is extremely thankful to all our parents for making the PTM a success.

Connect Circle for Teachers - 2024

The Connect Circle serves as a supportive environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. It provides a safe space for introspection, reflection, and the opportunity to vent feelings. The Connect Circle activity was conducted at PIS Shirur for teachers by our Wellness Teacher, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am.

During the session, teachers were asked to write a story using different colors that represent various expressions. While crafting their stories, they were encouraged to consider the emotions associated with each color.

Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am invited the teachers to share their experiences and discussed how emotions are essential for bringing change in our thought processes, which in turn affects our behavior patterns. This activity promoted emotional awareness and provided a creative, visual way for participants to connect emotions with colors.

At the end of the session, the Wellness Teacher gathered feedback on the activity. Our teachers thoroughly enjoyed the Connect Circle and expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Snehal Daundkar Ma'am for conducting such a wonderful activity for them.

Jumpstart Activity Fit and Fine Grade III - 2024

Under the Jumpstart Activity for grade III, Dr. Prasanna Bihani was invited to guide our students under the thematic unit Fit and Fun.

The objective was to explore the intersection of fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle among students.

Dr. Prasanna sir highlighted the numerous benefits of regular exercise, including improved mood, enhanced cognitive function, and reduced stress levels. He recommended a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Sir also suggested various ways to make fitness enjoyable, such as joining group classes, trying new sports, or engaging in outdoor activities.

The discussion touched on the strong link between physical fitness and mental health. Dr. Prasanna sir also shared strategies to manage stress through exercise, mindfulness, and adequate sleep.

The session concluded with a mutual recognition of the significance of integrating fitness and fun into daily routines, especially for students. PIS Shirur extends its gratitude to Dr. Prasanna Bihani sir for conducting this informative session for the students.

Podar Volunteer Program - 2024

Podar International School Shirur organized a Cleanliness Drive (under the Podar Volunteer Program) on 19th September 2024. The initiative aimed to instill the importance of cleanliness and hygiene among students, encourage teamwork and community spirit, and educate students on sustainable practices and waste management.

The students of grade VIII participated alongside teachers and volunteers in this event. Our students visited the Visarjan Ghat at Ramling near Bhairavnath Temple. They were divided into groups and assigned different areas for cleanliness. Equipped with gloves and bags, they enthusiastically collected litter, learning about the impact of waste on the environment.

The Cleanliness Drive was a remarkable success, achieving its objectives and leaving a positive impact on the school community. We encourage everyone to continue practicing cleanliness in their daily lives and look forward to organizing more such events in the future.

Hindi Diwas Celebration - 2024

Podar International School Shirur celebrated 'Hindi Diwas' with much enthusiasm on 14th September 2024. The celebration highlighted the importance of our mother tongue, Hindi, and commemorated the historic occasion when Hindi was adopted as the official language of India.

The day began by invoking the Lord's blessings, with students singing prayer songs in Hindi to seek God's grace on this auspicious occasion.

Students from grade VIII showcased poetry recitations and cultural programs to mark the celebration. The Nukkad Natak presented by the students received admiration from the audience. Our Hindi Teacher, Rohit Khomane sir, also shared his thoughts and discussed the significance of Hindi Diwas.

Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, expressed that Hindi is not just a means of communication; it is a reflection of our rich cultural heritage and unity. By embracing and celebrating Hindi, we honor our traditions and strengthen our national identity.

Ganesh Visarjan - 2024

What a joyous and heartwarming celebration of Ganesh Visarjan we had today at Podar International School Shirur! The entire school community came together with immense devotion and enthusiasm to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha, symbolizing the removal of obstacles and new beginnings.

The day was filled with cultural performances, devotional songs, and traditional rituals performed by our students and teachers. From the heartfelt aarti to the vibrant procession, everyone joined in, making this event truly memorable. The energy and unity displayed by our students were uplifting.

Students from each grade were invited to seek blessings during the six days of Bappa’s arrival. Our Council Members, along with teachers, admin staff, and non-class teachers, led the aarti, offering prayers and devotional songs in honor of Lord Ganesha.

On the day of farewell, the idols were immersed in a large tub filled with water, and the clay-filled water was then poured over the lush green campus. The atmosphere was alive with devotion as we invoked the blessings of Ganpati Bappa.

Special appreciation goes to our eco-conscious students who ensured that the visarjan followed environmentally friendly practices by immersing eco-friendly Ganesha idols.

The ceremony concluded with the sweet taste of prasadam, symbolizing the sharing of divine blessings and boundless love.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration - 2024

Podar International School Shirur celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp and festivity on the school premises. The air was filled with excitement and devotion as our school welcomed Lord Ganesha with open arms.

The festivities began with a grand procession to welcome Lord Ganesha. The rhythmic beats of the 'Lezim' filled the air as students performed mesmerizing dances in honor of the deity. The school's Administrative Officer, Coordinators, and students all joined together to welcome Bappa.

The Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja commenced with the chanting of Vedic mantras, setting a spiritual tone for the event. The celebrations began with the traditional arti performed by our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir.

This celebration helped our students understand that the festival is marked by the installation of Lord Ganesha's idol to seek His blessings through prayers and offerings of sweets.

The event brought our Podarites closer to the splendid beauty of Indian culture.

Ganesha Idol Making Workshop - 2024

Podar International School Shirur organized a Ganesh Idol Making Workshop for the students of grades IV and V on 6th September 2024.

The workshop began with an interactive lecture that taught our children about recycling and reusing.

This was followed by an elaborate demonstration of idol-making. Our Drawing teacher, Kishor Kale sir, showcased the idol-making process by creating the idol in front of the students. They learned the correct techniques for cutting, holding, and rolling the clay.

The students crafted beautiful mice for their Ganesh idols, which featured various ornaments and turbans, including the Puneri pagadi and the pheta!

Each student received individual guidance, which was reflected in the stunning idols they created by the end of the workshop.

Everyone left happy with their idols, and many decided to worship them during the upcoming Ganesh festival.

The workshop provided numerous takeaways for the students, including enjoyment of clay, learning a new art form, working collaboratively with friends, a love for nature, and the importance of recycling. Overall, the workshop was a huge success, with an overwhelming response.

Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, also visited the workshop and praised the students for their creativity. A special thanks to the Art and Crafts department for their tireless efforts in making this event possible.

Teacher's Day Celebration - 2024

A teacher is a friend, philosopher, and guide who influences us greatly from our childhood to our matured life.

Podar International School Shirur celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and joy. A grand welcome was extended to the teachers to make them feel special.

The program commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony, performed by our respected Principal sir, Admin Officer, and Coordinators.

After the invocation, students presented a scintillating cultural show to express their love, respect, acknowledgment, and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers for their development. The cultural show featured poems, songs, and dance performances.

The students made great efforts to ensure that the teachers enjoyed every moment of the program.

Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, emphasized the importance of moral and ethical values that he expects the students to follow. He also encouraged the teachers to be role models for the children.

The teachers felt proud to be part of the school and recognized the significance of their role in the students' lives.

Girls Welfare Committee Session - 2024

The Girls Welfare Committee session was conducted by Dr. Rashmi Patil (Gynecologist) for the girls of grades VI to X on 3rd September 2024.

The session aimed to provide an educational experience focused on girls' health, led by an experienced gynecologist. Important topics related to reproductive health, hygiene, and wellness were discussed.

Dr. Rashmi also informed the students about how maintaining good health impacts academic and career performance, emphasizing the importance of understanding bodily changes.

The girls were encouraged to prioritize their health alongside academic goals, especially in demanding fields like tech and coding. At the end of the session, there was an open floor for students to ask questions and clarify their doubts.

Thematic Unit I 'ECO Detectives - Grade 3' - 2024

The event of ECO Detectives was a fantastic opportunity for all students to connect with nature.

The goal of ECO Detectives is to solve environmental mysteries and challenges, while also sensitizing students about the values, importance, and awareness of plants.

During this unit, students learned about different types of plants and their various parts, as well as the essential types and uses of soil through a variety of theme-based activities.

The "ECO Detectives" event received positive attention from parents, highlighting its impact and raising awareness about environmental issues.

Connect Circle for Teachers - 2024

The Connect Circle serves as a supportive environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. It provides a safe space for introspection, reflection, and the opportunity to vent feelings.

The Connect Circle activity was conducted at PIS Shirur for teachers by our Wellness Teacher, Mrs. Snehal Daundkar.

During the session, the Wellness Teacher instructed the participating teachers to reflect on themselves and write down a few compliments they would like to give themselves, as well as some constructive criticism regarding things they wish to improve. They did this on a sheet of paper with a pen, accompanied by soft instrumental music playing in the background.

All the participating teachers stood in a circle and began tucking a paper plate behind each participant using a safety pin. They wrote compliments on the paper plate attached to their back using colorful pens.

At the end of the activity, the Wellness Teacher gathered feedback on the Connect Circle. Our teachers thoroughly enjoyed the experience and expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Snehal Daundkar for conducting such a wonderful activity.

Janmashtami Celebration - 2024

Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna. Podar International School celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with zeal and enthusiasm. Students of grades I and II dressed up as Krishna and Radha.

Students of grade IV performed a dance as a part of the Janmashtami celebration. A ‘Matki Phod’ event was organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Gopal’.

Students delivered a speech to remind us of the importance of ‘Krishna Janmashtami’ and the traditional folk of our nation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, for the outstanding ideas that helped make the celebration of the birthday of Lord Krishna a memorable one.

Podar Volunteer Program 'Raksha Bandhan Celebration' - 2024

Under the Podar Volunteer Program, the students of Podar International School, Shirur conducted a special assembly on account of Raksha Bandhan and also visited different locations to celebrate the festival.

The Podarites of Grade IV, along with their class teachers, music teacher, and Admin sir, visited the Post Office, Police Station, and Vatsalya Hospital in Shirur. Our students showed their love and respect for these community helpers by tying Rakhis to them.

The employees of the Post Office, Police Station, and Hospital admired this campaign and distributed sweets to all.

Jumpstart Event Grade II 'Thematic Unit - In My Town' - 2024

The Jumpstart Event is designed to hook the students, capture their imagination, and generate curiosity about the Thematic Unit - In My Town.

Podar International School, Shirur aims to provide students with an opportunity to express themselves regarding their town, its places, people, and houses while offering a common platform for this expression.

It empowers learners to realize that they already know many things and provides a base that can be used throughout the unit to make connections.

Our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, encouraged the students for their active involvement and energetic participation.

Parents were requested to visit the classes of Grade II to witness the creativity shown by the students. The teachers of Grade II thanked the parents for being a part of this program.

Culminating Event Grade I 'Thematic Unit - Marvellous Me' - 2024

The Culminating Event for Grade I with the theme "Marvellous Me: Celebrating Me" was a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents and celebrate family roles.

The event was inaugurated by our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, along with the parents of Grade I.

Students of Podar International School, Shirur performed songs and dances related to themes of family, love, and individuality. These performances were lively and engaging, showcasing the talents and creativity of the students.

Students came dressed and played the roles of different family members such as grandmother, grandfather, mother, father, daughter, and son, which added a personal touch and helped students to understand the concept of family.

Parents were requested to visit the classes of Grade I to witness the creativity shown by the students. The teachers of Grade I thanked the parents for being a part of this program.

SAFAL - CBSE online Exam Successful Completion - 2024

Podar International School, Shirur is happy to announce the successful completion of the SAFAL (Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning) by CBSE. The online exam was held between 22nd July and 5th August 2024.

The SAFAL Exam is a crucial assessment designed by CBSE to evaluate students' academic progress and analyze their learning.

The students of grades V and VIII appeared in the online exam for EVS, Science, Maths, and English assessment. A team of trained teachers was assigned to conduct the entire exam process. The exam was conducted error-free and very smoothly by our team.

The CBSE-SAFAL examination committee, guided by our Coordinator as well as SAFAL Nodal Officer Roshan Kalambarkar sir, along with the team, contributed to the successful conduction of the SAFAL Exam 2024.

Patriotic Speech Competition - 2024

“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and the soul of its people.”

To ignite the fire of patriotism in each Podarite, a Patriotic Speech Competition was organized at Podar International School, Shirur on 12th August 2024.

To show gratitude to our country, students of Grade I expressed their affection towards the National Heroes of our country. Grade II students expressed their views on the topic of Independence Day and remembered the sacrifice of the great freedom fighters by participating in patriotic speeches with iconic quotes and recalling the struggles of our great leaders.

Inter-School Choir Singing Competition - 2024

"Music is a piece of art that goes in the ears straight to the heart."

To celebrate the anniversary of Indian independence, Deccan Education Society English Medium School, Pasaydan Foundation Shirur, Aviskar Social and Educational Foundation Shirur, and Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Branch Shirur organized an Inter-School Choir Singing Competition at Deccan School, Baburao Nagar Shirur on 12th August 2024.

There was a tough fight among fifteen participating schools. The students of Podar International School, Shirur emerged as true champions, bagging First Position in this competition.

Smita Kale ma'am (CO- Shirur Municipal Council), Shakuntala Didi, Neeraj Rai sir (Principal of Podar International School Shirur), and Sameer Onkar sir (Principal of Deccan English Medium School Shirur) attended the inauguration of the competition and facilitated the Podarites.

Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, congratulated the winners for showcasing their brilliance on the stage of singing excellence. A special thanks to our music teacher, Mr. Mohan Bale sir, for his hard work and preparation that helped secure the position in the competition.

Training Session on Building a Safe Environment at PIS Shirur - 2024

To equip teachers with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to prevent and address bullying effectively, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students, an Anti-Bullying, Zero Tolerance Policy, and Sexual Harassment session was conducted for the teachers under the guidance of respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, at PIS, Shirur.

The Anti-Bullying session was conducted by our teachers, Ms. Shubhangi Achpal and Ms. Snehal Daundkar.

Teachers explained how to recognize bullying behavior, signs of bullying, behavioral indicators, creating a positive school climate, and guiding our children about what is good and bad and their consequences and effects.

The Zero Tolerance towards Corporal Punishment and Sexual Harassment session was conducted by our Coordinator, Mr. Roshan Kalambarkar sir.

Sir started by explaining the purpose of the session, which is to ensure a safe and respectful environment for both students and staff.

Sir clearly defined what constitutes sexual harassment, including examples such as inappropriate comments, gestures, and advances. He outlined relevant laws and institutional policies related to sexual harassment, emphasized the zero-tolerance policy, and discussed the consequences of violating it.

Respected sir also discussed various ways to prevent harassment, such as setting clear boundaries and maintaining professionalism.

This session aimed to empower teachers with the tools they need to address and prevent bullying, and to abide by school policies, ensuring a supportive and safe learning environment for all students.

Nag Panchami Celebration - 2024

Nag Panchami, a traditional Hindu festival dedicated to snakes, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at our school this year. The event, marked on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of Shravan, holds cultural and spiritual significance across India.

The day began with a special assembly conducted by Grade IV where students gathered to learn about the mythology and rituals associated with Nag Panchami. Our students performed a mesmerizing dance and delivered information about this celebration.

Students learned the ecological importance of snakes and how they contribute to maintaining the balance of nature.

The celebration concluded on a positive note with students gaining a deeper understanding of Indian culture and traditions.

Alumnus Motivational Session for Grade X Students - 2024

Our school organized a motivational session for Grade X students conducted by esteemed alumni Rishi Kothari. The session aimed to inspire and guide students as they approach a crucial phase in their academic journey and prepare for future challenges.

The alumnus shared his personal journeys, highlighting challenges he faced during his school years and how he overcame them. He provided valuable insights into various career paths, emphasizing the importance of exploring interests and setting goals early on. Practical tips on effective study habits, time management, and exam preparation techniques were shared.

Students learned about prioritizing tasks, staying organized, and seeking help when needed, which are crucial skills for academic success. A lively Q&A session followed, allowing students to ask specific questions about career choices.

The session left a profound impact on Grade X students, inspiring them to set higher goals and pursue their dreams with renewed vigor. Many students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from a successful alumnus who once walked the same halls and faced similar challenges.

Anti-Bullying Session - 2024

An Anti-Bullying session has been conducted at Podar International School Shirur for grades I to X using different activities with the objectives of reducing bullying instances in school and also spreading awareness about bullying and its effect on students.

The session was conducted class-wise by Class teachers under the guidance of the respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir.

The students showed great interest in the session conducted and there was maximum participation from all the students.

Career Vision Program 'Career Pathway for a Better Future' - 2024

Podar International School Shirur conducted the Career Vision Program for the students of grades IX and X. Our counselor Ms. Snehal Dundkar Ma'am discussed and guided parents about different career opportunities for the students after grade X. They can have career opportunities in Finance, Accounting, and Banking, Insurance, Arts, Management, Law, Hospitality, Mass Media etc.

The school is going to conduct a vocational assessment test and IQ test for the students to make them understand their abilities and interests. These tests will help them to choose their careers.

The program ended with a fruitful discussion with our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir. Parents asked various questions regarding career opportunities and vision. Sir guided and motivated parents by sharing some examples related to career opportunities.

Olakh Sparsh Workshop - 2024

Sensitizing children about various issues like, good touch and bad touch makes them emotionally strong and helps them to grow normally, PIS Shirur organized a workshop on “Good Touch Vs Bad Touch”, "Teenager issues and Solutions", and "Friendship" on the 24th, July 2024 for grades I to VIII students. A group of dedicated, smart and active staff of Sanvadini Social Organisations successfully conducted a wonderful session.

The Seminar taught the children how to identify the 'No Touch' areas, understand who are 'Safe Adults' and how to communicate with parents about any bad experience. The seminar also highlighted how to handle a bad touch by shouting 'NO', running away from the person and informing a safe adult about the same.

With this session, children will now be able to recognize and protect themselves against such dangers from an early age.”

Our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir thanked to Sanvadini Group for the staggering session. Good touch and bad touch would typically emphasize creating a safe environment for students and promoting awareness about appropriate and inappropriate physical contact.

Culminating Event 'Comic Verses Extravaganza' - 2024

Podar International School, Shirur conducted a Culminating Event Comic Verses Extravaganza - 'Unleashing Comic Superpowers' Under the IE Theme - 'Ink and Imagination: Crafting Tales through Comics.

The event saw its commence by lighting the lamp, followed by the dance performance of grade III students.

The students of grades I and II dressed up themselves into various cartoon characters and amazed everyone with their attire by doing a ramp walk in the assembly. Wherein the students of grades III and IV introduced themselves as their favorite characters.

The students of grades V to VIII transformed their classrooms into comic wonderlands with Comic strips, Comic merchandise displays, and Comic hero posters.

The students of all the grades visited and went through this information. The enthusiasm and creativity on display were truly inspiring! Our students had an amazing time exploring the world of comics and learning through this unique event.

Our Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir appreciated the students for their creativity shown in the event. Sir also stated that such events boost their confidence and prepare them for the future.

World Emoji Day Celebration - 2024

A unique assembly….World Emoji Day

Communication in the present age goes far beyond typing long text messages. Who knew that one could have a meaningful conversation without any words? A glance at social media feeds or text messages on chat groups shows a number of smiley faces, flying hearts, hugs, laugh out loud.

To recognize the importance of emojis in our daily lives, an assembly was conducted on the occasion of World Emoji Day celebrated on 17th July every year worldwide. Students prepared various emojis and presented in the assembly by sharing facts and information about the new universal language of visual pictographs. The assembly brought out the idea of identifying and expressing emotions and also becoming sensitive towards other’s emotions.

The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly and explained that Emojis are more than just symbols; they're a universal language that bridges cultures and generations. Remember, while emojis are fun, effective communication still relies on clear and thoughtful expression. So, as we enjoy today's festivities, let's also embrace the power of words.

Ashadhi Ekadashi Celebration - 2024

It is said that children learn from their experiences and observations so at Podar International School Shirur celebrated various festivals to give them real-life experiences. The very first festival of the year that we celebrated was Ashadhi Ekadashi. Our enthusiastic students participated in this celebration. The children came to school dressed up as little warkaris carrying cymbals in their hands and wearing rosaries around their necks. Girls wore a nine-yard sari and basil pot on their heads.

The performances of the day were filled with different shades of celebration. The students from grades V and VI sang the song "Dindi Magun Dindi Aali" and danced to the song Mauli Mauli Roop Tujhe".

The school premises were full of these little warkaris. Older students carried an attractive palkhi in the school premises decorated with flowers and photos of Lord Vithal in it followed by all little warkaris.

Later all the participants gathered at the entrance of the school. They all sang Lord Vithal's aarti along with our respected Principal sir, Coordinators and Admin Officer. The celebration brought in a feeling of devotion and spirituality amongst the students. PIS Shirur premises were not as usual but turned into a mini Pandharpur.

On the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, our respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir extended heartfelt greetings to all. Ashadhi Ekadashi reminds us of the importance of spirituality in our lives. It encourages us to reflect on our values and renew our commitment to righteousness and compassion.

Periodic Test '1 Open Day' 2024-2025

Podar International School Shirur opened its doors wide to welcome parents, guardians, and community members to our PT-1 Open House event.

The Open House provided opportunities for meaningful interactions. Parents engaged in conversations with teachers, discussing not only academic progress but also extracurricular activities and support services available to students.

As the event drew to a close, we collected valuable feedback from parents, which will guide our efforts in planning future events.

A Mock Fire and Evacuation Drill - 2024

PIS Shirur has organized A Fire Mock Drill to create awareness among the students on the school premises, and to prepare students and teachers for any such eventuality under the fire risk reduction program.

The purpose is to know about disaster management and evacuation drills involving students and teachers conducted for grades I to X to create awareness among the students about firefighting techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergencies, to check the readiness of the school to face any such a fire emergency and also to make the students and staff aware about the Fire Fighting Rescue Operation.

The students were escorted by the subject teachers to the school grounds in two minutes and forty seconds safely. They were advised not to panic in case of any disaster they were instructed to be with the teachers at the time of disaster and follow the instruction given to them by the Team.

Our Administrative officer, Mr. Vijaykumar Patil sir gave the information about how to use fire extinguishers, types of fires and extinguishers.

It was really an experiential learning for the students. They also learned how to operate fire extinguishers at the time of any fire.

The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the students by saying that during the drill, it is important that you take it seriously and follow instructions promptly. Listen carefully to your teachers or assigned personnel who will guide you through the evacuation process. Your cooperation and participation are crucial in making sure that everyone understands what to do in case of a fire.

Maharashtra Agriculture Day Celebration - 2024

"Agriculture is not just an occupation, it is a way of life that sustains us all".

This day is celebrated as the remembrance of the father of the Green Revolution of Maharashtra Dr. Vasantrao Naik.

Celebrating Agriculture Day in school is a wonderful opportunity to educate students about the significance of agriculture and farming in our lives.

Students of Grade II Pearl performed a special assembly on this occasion. Anchor students informed the day special and all related information of Maharashtra Agriculture Day. They performed a special dance on Farmer's theme.

On the occasion of Agriculture Day, Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly by extending warmest greetings to everyone involved in agriculture and farming. Today, we celebrate not just the vital role of agriculture in our economy but also the dedication and hard work of our farmers who tirelessly contribute to feeding our nation.

I urge everyone to recognize and appreciate the immense contribution of farmers in our lives and to pledge our support towards building a robust agricultural sector for generations to come.

First Student Council Meet 2024-25

Student Council is a platform for students to inculcate interpersonal and leadership skills by enabling them to play an active role in organizing and carrying out various school activities.

Podar International School, Shirur has conducted the first meeting with newly elected student council members. The meeting of students was conducted by our Coordinator Roshan Kalambarkar Sir under the guidance of respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir.

All newly elected members were welcomed and they introduced themselves.

Sir guided students about setting goals, and priorities, working in collaboration, teamwork, maintaining discipline, promoting English communication, students participating in upcoming events and activities, and creating awareness among students about saving water.

Every council member's role and responsibility was told by Head Boy and Head Girl. They also shared their ideas and though and held thoroughly discussion on it.

Students were very enthusiastic and interested to take charge and perform their responsibilities.

We are happy to share with you that our Council members already started working on their duties by conducting this First Council Members meeting successfully. Each and every minute planning and execution was done by our council members.

Congratulations to all the Elected members for their selection and all the best for the whole year experiential journey.

International Yoga Day Celebration - 2024

The International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June at PIS Shirur to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline in our students.

Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried out every day. Children got the chance to know how yoga embodies the unity of mind and body.

The students of grades I to X, along with the teachers performed Yoga. Different yoga postures like Tadasana, Kati chakrasana, Padahastasana, Vajrasana, Mandukasana, Kapalabhati, Bhramari Pranayama, Kapalabhati pranayama, Shanti mantra were performed by our students. Prayers were recited before and after the programme.

The celebration took place successfully under the guidance of respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir. Yoga tries to establish the relationship between your mind, body, heart and soul. If you want to improve your concentration level and physical health, you should do yoga regularly.

World Music Day Celebration - 2024

Plato said, Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and everything.

PIS Shirur organized a World Music Day special assembly that truly celebrated music and its importance in all our lives.

Our mellifluous students put up an enthralling musical performance which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present. The students of grades VI and X presented a spectacular musical show and displayed their amazing skills and talent.

Pratik Lanzewar enthralled the audience by rendering melodious Classical music - Tarana respectively. Sharanya Kshirsagar, Gojiri Bhavsar and Viraj Chavan captivated the audience with semi-classical music - natyageet.

Yashovardhan and his group stunned the audience when they sang "Sangeet Jahan Hai Geet Wahan".

Our students also shared information about classical music, semi-classical music and folk music.

The event concluded with the respected principal sir addressed. Music plays a vital role in the development of the students. Sir also appreciated the preparedness and hardwork of the students and teachers to make this event successful.

School Investiture Ceremony 2024-2025

The Investiture ceremony is an important occasion where a school entrusts its upcoming leaders with certain roles and responsibilities. It was a proud moment for PIS Shirur, as it held an Investiture Ceremony on 20th June 2024 marked by the presence of esteemed guest Retd. Major Sampat Dhavale.

The ceremony began with the welcome song performed by the school's choir group which was followed by Goddess Saraswati Pujan and Lightning of the auspicious lamp.

The students of Grade 7th showcased their talent through their vibrant dance performance. The esteemed guest was welcomed and felicitated by the hands of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir.

The student leaders were then invited on stage one by one, receiving their respective badges and sashes from honorable guests. The student council took the pledge to hold the school motto in high esteem.

Mast. Armanpreet Singh and Ms. Sanskruti Pachundkar were bestowed with the titles of Head Boy and Head Girl, respectively, along with their capable assistants and house captains.

It was a proud moment for all the parents to witness their children being invested in great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders. The Chief Guest Retd. Major Sampat Dhavale gave a speech to the children regarding upholding the legacy of the school, the importance of leadership qualities and tips on how to turn out to be a leader. He encouraged students to always walk on the correct path and be the change.

The Principal Sir motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of us. He said that being a leader is a vital role and that the New Student Council would have ample responsibilities to shoulder.

Observation Anniversary of Rani Laxmibai - 2024

Every year, June 18 is observed as the death anniversary of Rani Laxmi Bai, popularly known as Jhansi ki Rani. Known for her bravery, courage, and aptitude, Laxmi Bai, born Manikarnika Tambe, led a ferocious battle against the British rulers and is regarded as one of the leading figures of India's rebellion against the British in 1857.

We celebrated with the role-play act of Jhansi ki Rani at PIS Shirur. The students of grade II presented a special assembly by performing Role play and speech on the contribution of Jhansi ki Rani in freedom fight of 1857. Small kids got fascinated by the draping of students in Jhansi ki Rani get up.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly by saying that we should be courageous and confident every time. We should fight for our rights like Rani Lakshmi Bai.

Inter-house Quiz Competition - 2024

An Inter-House Quiz competition was held at Podar International School, Shirur on 15th June 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic preparation and participation. The teams comprised four participants per house.

The format of the quiz entailed three rounds. The first round was Rapid Fire Round carried ten marks for each question, the second was Raise Hand carried twenty marks and the third was Final Round carried thirty marks each. It was a game-changer round, which the students enjoyed the most.

Although the teams participated actively, the team that scored the most was Ignis House, which was followed by Aqua House who took the second position. The other two houses, Terra and Ventus, succeeded in opening the account but could not make it to the finals.

The quiz was successfully conducted by the students of grade IX wherein anchors were Sharanya Kshirsagar and Pratik Waghmare, questionnaires were asked by Gojiri Bhavasar and Hardika Dey, scorekeeper- Ojas Kulkarni and score announcer- Harsimrat Kaur, mediator- Deven Gundecha and Timekeeper was Viraj Hole.

The vote of thanks was conveyed by Sharanya Kshirsagar who thanked teachers and the Principal sir for planning, organizing and facilitating such events.

PIS Shirur always encourages positive competition and hopes to bring out the best in all its students through such competitive events, while ensuring that the children learn through in all possible ways- not just through books and classroom teaching.

Students Council Election 2024-25

Students Council Election was held at PIS Shirur on 15th June 2024. The students from all four houses filed their nominations for various positions.

The students first began campaigning for their respective posts on 12th June 2024. The contestants for the various positions like Head Boy, Asst. Head Boy, Head Girl, Asst. Head Girl, Sports Captain, Asst. Sports Captain, Cultural Head, Asst. Cultural Head and many others, presented their manifestos in the assembly and made attractive posters to convince the students that they were the right choice for the position.

The final stage of the process was the casting of votes by the students. The students and teachers of Grades III to X cast their votes by filling out Google forms to elect members of the Student Council on Polling Day.

These elections provided an opportunity for the students, how to fill out nomination forms, declare their manifestos, connect with the students, and witness and exercise their fundamental right to vote.

The entire election process was conducted smoothly under the guidance of respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir. The motivation, inspirational words, and importance of election given by respected sir were really helpful for the students to choose the right candidate.

First Parents Teacher Association Meeting 2024-2025

Parent Teacher Association Meeting is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to develop a healthy and strong relationship for the holistic development of the child. The Parents play an equally important role as teachers in the positive development of the child.

A Parents Teacher Meeting was conducted at Podar International School Shirur on 8th June 2024. The meeting began with the lighting of the lamp followed by welcoming all the PTA members.

Coordinator Santosh Shinde sir shared outstanding results of grade X and the school position among all Podar Group of schools with PTA members. First Revision Worksheet Examination for grades I and II, Registration of grades IX and X, Revision Test before PT-1 Exam, First Periodic Test, and First Open House of the year 2024-25 schedules were also discussed in the meeting.

Event Manager, Girish Harke sir spoke about the upcoming events, Co-curricular activities, and Competitive Exams which will be conducted in the school.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir talked about IE events, students' attendance and discipline, and strategies to achieve good results not only for board exams but also for lower grades. Respected sir introduced the "Buddy Sharing" concept in school to reduce the weight of the school bag.

Sir also congratulated the leadership team and staff for the remarkable results of grade X. PTA members' suggestions were also discussed in the meeting. At last, the meeting ended with fruitful ideas exchanged between the PTA members and the school. We are extremely thankful to all our parents for being part of this meeting and making the PTM extremely successful.
Welcome back to school 2024-2025

Every session marks a new beginning. Therefore, the first day, when the children, all feeling rejuvenated, enthusiastic, and excited, come to the school in their brand new, crisp uniforms, it becomes a very special day.

As it was the first day after a long summer vacation, Podar International School Shirur welcomed its students with fervor and made the day very special with fun activities.

The students of grades I to VIII were welcomed back to school. The teachers decorated the corridor, and boards with welcome-back messages. Class teachers also greeted students with Welcome cards.

To make it all the more special, a welcome assembly was organized by the teachers of the school and they made the assembly memorable.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir also welcomed students wishing them welcome back to school and addressed them to have a lot of fun, and start the learning with enthusiasm and joyful way.

Grade X Parents Orientation Programme 2024-2025

An Orientation Programme for the parents of Class X students was organised on 5th June, 2024. The Orientation Programme focussed on introducing the parents to the respective subject teachers, the result of grade X (2023-24), what the school expects from students and parents, overall result of the school.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, addressed the parents and emphasized the value of discipline along with the need for the involvement of parents in the learning process of their wards.

Sir also shared the result of the grade X and expected a better result from the current batch of this year. The Respected sir focused on the strategies for the students to achieve success, the vision, and the goals of the school with the parents and students.

Parents appreciated the initiatives taken by the school for the betterment of the students and congratulated Principal sir and teachers for the outstanding board results.

The session ended with thanking the parents for participating enthusiastically in the programme and understanding the ethos of the school.

World Environment Day Celebration - 2024

"The environment is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest, it is the one thing all of us share."

World Environment Day was celebrated at Podar International School Shirur to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage the students to take positive action to protect the planet.

The day started with a special assembly by students of grade X Opal in which they took the pledge to protect the environment. The students shared the exhilarating information and conducted a quiz.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir stated that as a student, you should contribute to saving the environment. Your small actions lead to big changes. Let's nurture and preserve our environment for a sustainable future.

Micro Teaching Session - 2024

Micro Teaching is a teacher training and skills development programme wherein the teacher gets constructive feedback from his/her peers, works on it, and makes improvements to their teaching techniques.

On June 4, 2024, Podar International School Shirur conducted a micro teaching session. Teachers had chosen a small unit to teach, which was accompanied by different interesting activities, and innovative methods were also used to teach these units. Teachers also shared ideas and best teaching practices with one another.

Fruitful positive suggestions and feedback were given to each and every teacher personally by the HODs as well as coordinators.

Teachers enjoyed, got motivated, and learned many new skills by observing each other's micro teaching.

Pre-Secondary Scholarship Examination - 2024

Pre-Secondary Scholarship Examination is the State Level Scholarship Exam held for Class VIII students of Maharashtra. It is conducted by the Maharashtra State Examination Council, Pune.

We are extremely delighted to announce the results of the Pre-Secondary Scholarship Exams that were held in February 2023. We are pleased to state that the students of Podar International School Shirur exuberantly participated in this exam and received certificates for the same.

Potluck Lunch at PIS Shirur - 2024

Arranging a potluck lunch in school fosters community spirit, encourages sharing, and promotes diversity through the variety of dishes brought by students. It also provides an opportunity for students to showcase their culinary skills and learn about different cultures through food. With the same motto, Podar International School Shirur organized a potluck lunch for students on 27th April, 2024.

The main purpose of a potluck is to bring students together in a shared activity, encourage a sense of belonging, and create a fun and relaxed atmosphere, where students can socialize, share recipes, and enjoy each other's company.

E-PTA Formation Meet 2024-25

Communication is the key for strengthening any process in an organisation. Parent teacher association is a two way communication process that aims at improving the learning environment for the students.

Interested parents were invited to fill google form to contest in the election for the position of PTA Member from each division.

All the interested contestants PTA members welcomed for the meeting. The meeting saw its commence with a prayer of goddess Saraswati followed by the lighting of the lamp. The meeting agenda was discussed and procedure for the selections was read out for the all members. The members were selected based on the lots picked for the grades there were one than one nomination. Vice Chairperson and two Joint Secretaries were being selected in the meeting.

The Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir said that every parent is a part of PTA but you are the executive PTA member of the class. It is a two way process in which we have to work together for students progress. We will have four meetings throughout the year. We can have good discussion and bring changes in school.

The meeting was well organized with invocation and welcomed all the members with all pleasure.

Art and Craft Activities 'The Seven Elements of Art' - 2024

Elements of art are a crucial ingredient in conceptualizing and crafting an artwork. They have the power to ignite curiosity among viewers and make them wonder, “What exactly are we looking at?” Elements of art are a subject that intrigues you with every step you take in exploring their various aspects.

Podar International School Shirur successfully conducted "The Seven Elements of Art" for the students of grades I to VIII throughout April month. Our artist students enthusiastically, showed their creativity in various drawings.

Our art teachers, Mr. Kishor Kale sir and Pooja Niwane ma'am, guided the students throughout the session. The seven elements of art-line, colour, shape, form, texture, value, and space, were introduced to the students. Each and every element was discussed in detail so that students could make their own creative art.

The seven elements of art are the building blocks for creating artwork. By understanding it, we can make their work more powerful and unique. It can be used to create or describe a painting, sculpture or photographs.

We are pleased to announce that the students from our esteemed school have brought many laurels by winning medals in the Silver Zone Olympiad.

A special assembly was conducted to appreciate our shining students who performed an excellence and bagged prizes in the IIO, ISSO, GK Olympiad Hindi Olympiad conducted by Silver Zone in academics 2023-24.

The Silver Zone Olympiad helps to promote competitive awareness of academics in school children. Every year the students of Podar International School Shirur participates in different Olympiads and pass out with flying colours.

Legends of Laughter 'A Tribute to Comic Creators' - 2024

Podar International School Shirur hosted a special assembly on the theme 'Legends of Laughter – A Tribute to Comic Creators', part of Integrated English.

The students of grade VIII took the stage to explore the significance of laughter, delve into the importance of comics, and pay homage to the creative geniuses who brought joy to millions.

The students had a panel of Creators like, Anant Pai- creator of Amar Chitra Katha, Stan Lee - creator of Marvel Comics, Charles Schulz- creator of Peanuts, Pran Kumar Sharma - creator of Chacha Chaudhary. They shared their life experiences, which motivated them to create their comics and characters.

Two anchors expertly guided the gathering through the laughter-filled journey, bringing each comic character to life with their infectious enthusiasm.

Both students and staff thoroughly entertained and enlightened through the assembly. The assembly helped students to learn and understand about the imaginative thinking skills of the comic creators.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly saying that comic characters play important role in our life. They not only make us laugh, but also help people through their actions. We can learn many things from them.

CBSE Science Challenge Exam (First Round) 2024-25

Science is a subject which is linked to our lives unaccountably as it helps us to understand the world better. We can learn to solve problems and can learn to take initiative to think logically and rationally.

To generate the same curiosity, enquiry and skills of higher order thinking, the CBSE board has organized CBSE Science challenge for students of grade 8th to 10th. The theme for the same is ‘Environment and Sustainability’.

The challenge would be conducted through two rounds-within school and inter school. This was the first round conducted at Podar International School Shirur on 25th April 2024. The paper comprised a variety of stimulants followed by MCQs. This is a test of speed with accuracy.

World Book Day Celebration - 2024

"Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are. - Mason Cooley".

World Book Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at Podar International School Shirur on 23rd April 2024. The main objective of the event was to foster the reading habits among the young readers.

The morning assembly was conducted by the students of grade VII. They explained importance the books in our lives and need of nurturing the habit of reading. 'Get a Book and Get a friend' activity was also conducted in the school so they can exchange the books with their friends and making them good readers.

The Donation Drive was also planned so that students can donate the books to create interest of reading among the students. The students of grade 9th and 10th presented book review on the books they had read. The students enjoyed showcasing their talent merged with creativity.

The Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir acknowledged the efforts of library department for developing and polishing the reading skills of the students by engaging them in plethora of activities. Sir further motivated the students and staff to read more books for providing food to the mind.

Earth Day Celebration - 2024

To promote the principle of sustainability and display our gratitude towards Mother Earth, Earth Day was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at Podar International School Shirur on 22nd April 2024.

It was a great day to showcase environmental education, highlight efforts to green the school and engage the whole Student community in making a difference.

The day started with a special assembly conducted by the students of Grade VII. The students spoke about the significance of the day and presented an eye-opening skit on the earth of the 19th century and 20th century. How was the earth in the 19th century and what problems we are facing now that are shown through the skit? Lastly, the proper solution was also discussed by the students to save our motherland.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir appreciated the students for the skit presented in the assembly and also discussed the current scenario of the environment and the way we can contribute the saving the earth.

Teacher's Training Program - 2024

The Teacher's Training Programme was organized by Podar Innovative Center at PIS Shirur on 20th April 2024. The resource persons, Ms. Reshmi (the General manager of PIC), Ms. Sonali Shah (The General manager of PIC) and Ms. Vineeta Rajeev (The Asst. General Manager of the PIC Internal Development Team) were wholeheartedly welcomed by offering bouquets. The leadership and the resource persons have likely provided valuable insights for the participating teachers.

The session commenced with the lighting of the lamp. They emphasized various aspects such as fostering harmony in the classroom rapport between teachers and students, as well as the importance of a zero-tolerance policy, which indicates a comprehensive approach to enhancing teaching effectiveness. The incorporation of student-teacher rapport and classroom discipline allows for hands-on learning and peer collaboration, which are essential components of effective professional development.

The inclusion of a motivational video and positive feedback from program leaders like Ms. Reshmi and Ms. Sonali Shah demonstrates the supportive and encouraging environment fostered during the program. Such affirmation and encouragement are vital for motivating teachers and reinforcing their commitment to continuous improvement.

Ram Navami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

Podar International School Shirur celebrated Ram Navami with great enthusiasm and reverence! Grade IX students came together to present a special assembly, enlightening us all about the significance of this auspicious occasion.

The celebration took place in the school assembly, where students, teachers, and staff gathered to commemorate this auspicious occasion.

The celebration began with a prayer song dedicated to Lord Ram, sung by the students. Throughout the assembly, the significance of Ram Navami was explained, emphasizing the values of righteousness, truth, and compassion that Lord Ram exemplifies.

The celebration served as a beautiful reminder of the rich cultural heritage and values associated with Ram Navami, a sense of unity and reverence in the school.

The Ambedkar Jayanti celebration at Podar International School Shirur commenced with a special assembly, emphasizing the significance of the day in commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The students of grade IX highlighted various events through the assembly.

Ramadan Eid Celebration - 2024

Ramadan Eid also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," marks the end of Ramadan's month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting. Podarities celebrated Ramadan Eid, the festival of prayers, joy, happiness, and brotherhood with great fervor by conducting a special assembly.

The celebrations began with informative presentations by our students, wherein they elaborated on the meaning, purpose, and importance of Ramadan. Students were dressed up in their best attire. They had a day of enjoyment with amusing activities related to the theme. This promoted a feeling of cooperation, collaboration and teamwork. It was a moment of enjoyment, fun and pleasure in a relaxed environment.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir extolled the ethical virtues and motivated the young ones to uphold the values of this blessed month.

Gudi Padwa Celebration - 2024

Gudi Padwa marks the beginning of the Marathi New Year and the harvest season in Maharashtra. Gudi Padwa symbolizes Lord Rama's victory over Ravana. The festival commemorates the celebrations done for Lord Rama after his return to Ayodhya after completing 14 years of exile.

A special assembly was conducted by our students to celebrate this special day. The students spoke about the importance of the day and gave various logical and scientific reasons why celebrating Gudi Padwa.

The respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir also gave best wishes to all. Gudi Padwa reminds us that every sunrise brings a chance to reset, rejoice, and rejuvenate our souls.

The festival was celebrated in a short but sweet manner.

Jumpstart Activity 'Grades I to VIII' - 2024

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

It sounds like the teachers put a lot of effort into making the first day of the new academic year special for the students! On the very first day of school i.e. 4th April 2024, Jumpstart activities for various grades were being conducted by IE teachers at PIS Shirur.

The theme of Integrated English was Ink and Imagination. The students made comic strips in Marathi, Hindi and English languages. They dressed up as their favorite cartoon characters & sang a few famous dialogues of character like Batman and Spider-man and wrote a few lines about the character.

Integrated English activities into the day is an excellent way to make learning fun and interactive. The students of I to VIII grades performed as their favorite cartoon characters not only encouraged creativity but also helped them practice speaking and writing skills. Writing about their chosen characters allowed them to express themselves and share their interests with others.

Overall, it sounds like a fantastic way to kick off the new academic year and create a sense of excitement and enthusiasm among the students.

Parent Orientation Program 2024-2025

Podar International School Shirur organized the Parents Orientation Programme on 3rd April 2024, for the parents with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir guided the parents on how to nurture children by not only focusing on academics but also on learning important skills to succeed in life.

The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school. The respective class teachers gave an overview of various subjects and the activities that be undertaken in the year ahead.

The co-scholastic activities were also discussed which gave the parents an idea of the curriculum which is self-directed with hands-on learning activities that help our students in their all-around development.

The Orientation Programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school to educate the parents to look after and properly guide their children. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy.

The Prize distribution ceremony was held at Podar International School Shirur to felicitate the students who brought laurels and accolades for the school by winning medals in International Science Olympiad (ISO), International Maths Olympiad (IMO) and International English Olympiad (IEO) 2023-24 conducted by Silver zone Olympiad Foundation.

Our students have proved that hard work and dedication ultimately lead to success and there is no short-cut. They are an inspiration for all. Therefore we heartily congratulate all the prize winners of Silver Zone Olympiad.

Culminating Event 'Grade 1 - Jungle Beats and World Explorer Fair'
Podar International School Shirur organised "Jungle Beats" and "World Explorer Fair" for the students and teachers of Grade I on 2nd March 2024. Students dressed as zoo animals and plants/flowers/fruits. Through this activity, students have spread the message of protecting animals and nature simultaneously. Under the thematic Unit- World Explorer Fair students dressed as per their choices. They enjoyed the event through dance and their creations were displayed through an exhibition.
Session on Financial Literacy & Use of Digital Tools - 2024

“Financial Literacy not only involves the ability to count your money, it also tests your ability to evaluate the cost and benefit associated with each decision you make.”

Central Board and Secondary Education (CBSE) organized a session on Financial Literacy and the Use of Digital Tools at Podar International School Shirur under the guidance of Hemant Bhagwat sir on 28th February 2024.

The session commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The Respected Principal sir welcomed the esteemed guest and requested sir to guide for the same.

Mr. Hemant Bhagwat sir started the session by asking some questions about financial planning. Sir also guided teachers on various topics such as:

  2. Regular investing through SIP is the ideal way to secure retirement.
  3. Protect your life and health through insurance.
  4. Use digital payment smartly but be watchful of frauds.

Marathi Raj Bhasha Day Celebration - 2024

Every year, 27th February is celebrated as Marathi Language Day in Maharashtra and Goa states in India, known as ‘Marathi Raj Bhasha Din’. It is celebrated on the birthday of the eminent Marathi Poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, to recognize and honour the greatness of Marathi literature.

Students of grade IV started the assembly with the auspicious Marathi prayers and songs.

Students dressed up in traditional Maharashtrian costumes. They presented a drama based on Marathi Literature. Our students came to know the vast scope of the Marathi language in the form of stories, novels, autobiographies, biographies, travelogues, poems and songs. Students came in the attire of various Marathi saints and introduced themselves to the assembly.

Teachers and students of PIS Shirur left no stone unturned while celebrating Marathi Bhasha Diwas. They also explained the importance of the Marathi language and sang Marathi poems that were highly appreciated by the students.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir appreciated for their fluency in Marathi and their wonderful performances put up. It was indeed a colorful and joyous celebration of Marathi Diwas!

Science Day Celebration - 2024

A science exhibition is an interface of science and society and it contributes towards creating awareness about science as well as creating enthusiasm in students.

A Science Exhibition was organized on 24th February 2024 at Podar International School Shirur. It was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and zest from students in grades I to IX. The objective was not only to inculcate a scientific attitude and research-mindedness but also to enhance student’s interest in science and technology.

The students showcased their scientific skills by representing the models based on mechanics, optics, electromagnetism and thermodynamics.

The main attractions of the Day were the Scientific Rangoli made by the students of grades VI to IX and magic tricks and games. All the parents were enthralled to see the young Podarities as emerging young scientists.

On the occasion of Science Day Plantation programme was arranged by the Science Department to spread the message "Plant a tree and save a life".

It was truly a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and scientific exploration among the students.

We appreciate all Science teachers all parents for supporting and motivating students to participate in this Science exhibition.

Science Workshop - 2024

The Earth Sight Foundation conducted the first-ever workshop called "Space for Everyone " at Dnyanganha Jr. College, Shirur on 17th February 2024.

Dr. Shirish Ravan ji, Founder of Earthsight Foundation, former officer of United Nations, ISRO, and C-DAC. was the resource person, including Mr. Advait Kulkarni, and Mr. Yuvraj Joshi made students understand space and the world beyond our Earth.

We are happy to share with you that the students of grades VIII and IX of Podar International School Shirur overwhelmingly participated in this workshop and learned various concepts about space.

The workshop aimed to understand the satellites- how they work, and help us in our everyday lives. How they are an integral part of our daily life and how can we locate the places using satellite? Students also understood how satellite images can be used to visit various places just by sitting at home.

Art Exhibition - 2024

"Drawing at its best is not what eyes see but what our mind understand."

An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world. Every child is an artist. Art speaks where words are unable to be explained. Keeping this in mind, an Art exhibition was organized at Podar International School Shirur on 17th February 2024 to give wings to every child's creative instincts!

The exhibition was inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp by the Chief Guest Sanjay Pathade (president of Ahmedabad District Art Teachers Association). The youngest artists of our school with a lot of creative ideas, hard work, intellectual skills, sincerity and dedicated participation portrayed their talents. Students displayed 3D woven wonder, Pixel and paperwork, sculpting pages, rotating imagery, flowers, different faces etc.

Our students were fully prepared for the exhibition from making arts and crafts things to decorating classes. They confidently interacted with parents and shared information about their work. Through this exhibition, students learned presentation skills, group work and gained confidence and motivation.

The chief guest congratulated students and their teachers for the successful event and motivated them to keep up the good work. Parents appreciated the exhibition. They admired the creative work exhibited by the students and suggested organizing such exhibitions in the future.

PIS students proved the truth of the saying that “every child is an artist.”

Visit at Maher Orphanage - 2024

Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.

Under the Podar Voluntary Programme the students of Podar International School Shirur experienced a very serious and compassionate life pattern when they visited the innocent children in "Maher Orphanage".

We met Mr. Shilanand Ambure who welcomed us and led us to the main hall. Sir also interacted with students and briefed them about the ashram. Daily useable items were given to innocent lives. The children were elated when they received the stationery from us.

Orphanages are an important part of our society as they give children the kind of upbringing they need regardless of their family situation. We bid them farewell with a promise of visiting them once again.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Celebration - 2024

Shiv Jayanti reminds us of the courageous act of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which inspires the coming generation forever to show their courage to the nation.

Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti was celebrated in Podar International School Shirur on 17th February 2024 in a special assembly under the guidance of our teachers and Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir.

The celebration started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the Pooja of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with mesmerizing Shiv garjana by our students.

Students with great zeal and enthusiasm participated in the attire of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Jijaua, Tanaji, Maule and many others. Shiv Janmotsav was celebrated with the fullest zeal along with the oath taken by Shivaji Maharaj for Swarajya.

Yugandhar Waghmare sang a powada on the velour and bravery of Shivaji Maharaj while other students performed the events described like the court scene of Begam, the meeting with the Afzalkhan and the siege of Panhala.

The main attraction of the programme was Shivaji Maharaj Rajyahishek. Our students played the roles of Shivaji Maharaj, Maa Jijau and Mawle marched towards the stage welcoming them by playing lazim was an unforgettable moment.

Mr. Neeraj Rai sir, Principal of the school reminded our students about Shivaji Maharaj, his bravery and life and the lessons to be learned from Shivaji Maharaj's life.

World Radio Day Celebration - 2024

"If done correctly, radio has the potential to be far more vital than any other form of communication."

Radio is a medium that has remained popular for a long time. It's a platform where we can get information from across the globe, educate the masses, express ourselves across cultures, and of course! listen to our favourite music. To commemorate the journey of Radio over decades, Podar International School Shirur conducted a special assembly on ‘World Radio Day’ on 13th February 2024 with a flurry of events.

The students of grade VIII- Einstein pretended to be radio hosts and chatted, and discussed topics that they believed such as the Independence Day, the 1965 Indo-Pak War, the World Cup Cricket Match etc.

Nowadays radio is not having as much importance as it was there in earlier times. It was the one source for people to know the news and information of their surroundings said by the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir.

The assembly concluded with an understanding that radio is the sole broadcast medium that continues to entertain us.

Grade X Farewell Ceremony 2023-2024

Farewell of Grade X marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. It's a time to cherish memories, celebrate achievements, and embrace the future with optimism. Podar International School Shirur bid adieu to its beloved class X students on 10th February 2024, in a heart warming farewell ceremony.

The atmosphere brimmed with joy and nostalgia as class IX students showcased their talents through dance performances, Physics-based games and a delightful school skit, depicting the journey and memories of class X.

In a poignant moment, the cake was cut, signifying the illumination of their path ahead. Each student was honoured with a school sash, by giving a small gift as a token of love and blessings from teachers encapsulated in farewell cards.

The Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir guided students by saying that you should always be positive in your life. Whatever challenge life will throw in front of you, don't complain, accept the challenge and move ahead. The ceremony culminated in a shared meal, fostering camaraderie and cherished memories.

Handwashing Activity - 2024

Regular hand washing is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs. In light of the same and to acquaint children with the significance of keeping their hands germ-free, Podar International School Shirur conducted an engaging "Hand Washing" activity.

The session included the techniques and seven steps of hand washing to maintain proper hygiene. The activity encouraged students to promote good habits to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

The children enjoyed the activity and also learned the importance of handwashing for a healthy life.

Podar Parents Premier League Cricket Match - 2024

Parent-teacher relationships play a vital role when it comes to student success. By working together, parents and teachers can create an encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to reach their goals.

Podar Parents Cricket League is one of such steps taken by us to develop a healthy bond between the parents and school.

Podar International School Shirur organized the cricket tournament. The Parents played very well and had strong enthusiasm. It was interesting to see all the parents performing well in sports, at the same hand.

More than 180 parents registered for the PPPL matches. The players were divided into different teams.

The Female-parents team- "Podar Angel", the Male-parents team- "Podar Giant" won the final match and the team of PIS Shirur teachers was the Runner Up.

The matches were a true spectacle, featuring magnificent cricketing shots, breathtaking catches, unwavering team spirit and an enthusiastic audience that added excitement.

Jumpstart Activity 'Significant People' - 2024

Making children realize their hidden talents and dreams has always been the focus at Podar International School Shirur. A platform to put the same in writing was provided as the Jumpstart Event.

These activities come as a surprise to the students preparing them for the upcoming theme.

Grades 1 and 2 chose what they would want to be, under ' I want to be next ' out of celebrities from distinct fields such as Business, Sports etc.
Grades 3 and 4 realized what they are good at by writing it on a piece of paper.

The activity thus conducted raised the curiosity levels of students as they look forward to other events with this theme. Overall the activity was fully enjoyed by each and every student.

The Principal, Admin Officer and Staff of Podar International School, Shirur organized a Potluck Lunch party. They prepared varieties of traditional food and shared them with all.

The main purpose of a potluck is for teachers and staff to come together and share a meal, with each person or family bringing a dish to contribute to the overall meal. It is also a way to have a get-together share dining experiences and showcase their culinary skills. Such events bring the teachers together, build healthy relations and boast teamwork among them.

It fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere, fostering a sense of community within the school. It's moments that made our school environment truly special. The day was enjoyed enthusiastically and energetically by everyone.

We are thrilled to share you that Hima Das (Golden Girl- Renowned Athlete) graced our school for Annual Sports Day Prayas. Her presence added immense inspiration to the Sports Day event and excitement for our PIS Shirur.

Hima Das ma'am had a friendly discussion with students, motivated and guided them for playing and talked about sports. Our students were inspired by her achievements. Her motivation to the students made the sports Day PRAYAS truly memorable.

Annual Sports Day Celebration 2023-2024

The most awaited Annual Sports Day was held with great zeal and enthusiasm at Podar International School Shirur on 20th January 2024. It was held in the playground of our school. Students celebrated its Annual Sports Day, amidst great mirth, verve, and camaraderie.

Honorable Mr. Dadasaheb Udmale was the Chief Guest of the Opening Ceremony of our Annual Sports Day. The sports day began with lamp lightning by respected dignitaries followed by school welcome song by choir group. The main attraction of the programme was the Guest of honour, Hima Das (Bhing Express) visited our school's Annual Day.

Students of Primary and secondary grades performed a dance to show their excitement & sportsmanship for sports day followed by felicitation of chief guest by our Respected Principal sir.

After this there was March past by students of Secondary section. Starting off with lots of blazing cheers, the students eagerly participated in various events 50 Metre-race, Hurdle Race, Pick the Ball Race, Basket ball race, Hula Hoop race, sack race, 100 Metre-Relay race. It was an event that gave them a chance to display their team spirit.

Then Our chief guest Honorable Mr. Dadasaheb shared his valuable words with us. Sports can develop multiple qualities like a sense of togetherness, leadership skills, stamina, planning, patriotism and teamwork. Sports department, specially Mr. Pravin Patil sir, Mrs. Rupali Bhogawade ma'am, leadership team and all the teachers put the best efforts to make the programme successful.

The winners were awarded with medals and trophies given by Honorable Chief guest, Mr. Dadasaheb Udmale, and Respected Principal sir. The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by Meet Singhvi.

Makar Sankranti Celebration - 2024

"Let your dreams touch the sky just like the kite you fly"

Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival which is celebrated in almost all parts of India. This festival marks the transition of Sun into the Makara Rashi which is a zodiac sign. It is also believed that it marks the spring of India which is a traditional event.

On this auspicious day, a special assembly was conducted at PIS Shirur. A wonderful skit written by 6th was presented enthusiastically in the assembly. Students of grade VI- Einstein, Ananya Sale, Riddhi Nahar, Krupa Pardesh, Adarshni Rai, Saiesha Wakhare, Mahashree puri Goswami, Vaibhavi Gaikwad performed various ways of celebrating Makar Sankranti in different states of our country through the skit.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly, spoke about the importance of festivals in our life and extended warm wishes of Makar Sankranti to all.

Connect Circle Activity - 2024

To build connections and foster team integrity, "Connect Circle" was conducted by Ms. Shreya Das ( Counselor In charge of Pump Hub-2) at Podar International School Shirur on 16th January 2024.

Podar International School gives the opportunity to conduct these sessions under the program of "Connect Circle" where teachers experience the transformative power of inspiring Sessions like Musical Artwork Session (Round Rabin Round), which bring teachers together, encouraging collaborative efforts to craft a unique piece of art, exemplifying the strength of unity and creativity within the teaching community.

The session turned out to be quite informative, useful and enlightening. The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir thanked and appreciated ma'am for this wonderful session.

Magic Mountain Trip - 2024

Field trip is an important way for students to make connections between the classroom and the real world. Furthermore, it helps deepen their learning experience across the subject areas. Podar International School Shirur organized a field trip for grades V to IX to Magic Mountain at Lonavala.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir informed students about the importance of such trips in their lives and also instructed the students to have a safe and sound trip.

The students thoroughly enjoyed different rides such as Space Trainer, Sky Screamer, Delta Hoppla, Super Splash, Giant Frisbee, Rush Hour, Top Spin, Megha Disco and many more. Breakfast and lunch were also served to the students. Not only the kids but also the teachers enjoyed themselves.

The engagement and enthusiasm displayed by students were truly commendable, and this trip will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on their education.

A magnificent Programme was organized to felicitate the high achievers at Podar International School Shirur on 8th January 2024.

The Topper students of grades I to X were appreciated and received certificates of appreciation in the assembly by the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir for achieving excellent results in the PT-II Exam 2023-24.

Sir continued motivating students that they can also become successful by doing hard work, planning and proper execution. I believe that in the next exam, more students will be achieving this certificate of excellence.

PT II Open House - 2023

Podar International School Shirur conducted an Open House for grades I to IX on 6th, January 2024. The main purpose of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to enrich the student’s educational experiences and to discuss the Individualized Education Program.

Parents interacted with the respective teachers and discussed their progress and overall development of their wards. They also appreciated the efforts of the teachers towards teaching and making the learning methodology feasible for the students.

The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir also had a fruitful interaction with the parents and cleared their queries.

Book Fair - 2023

Podar International School Shirur organized a book fair in association with "Book Space" on 6th January 2024. Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir inaugurated the book fair. It was organized to inculcate reading habits among the students.

A wide range of books for different age groups was brought for selling such as kids' story books, novels, drama, arts and crafts, comics, motivational books, career guidance?? and many other forms of books attracted the attention of everyone.

A large number of students, parents, other book lovers and staff members enjoyed the fair and purchased a variety of books.

It was a wonderful experience for the children and parents who visited the fair. The programme was appreciated by everybody.

Podar International School, Shirur conducted a special assembly in which the students and teachers were appreciated and awarded with certificates for their active participation in Annual Day Celebration and gave their best to make programme successful.

We also appreciated teachers for their efforts in various areas such as Voice recording merging effects, Annual Day Report, PowerPoint Presentation and Incharge Ship in choreography.

The celebration ended with the motivational words of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir and congratulated all the achievers for their leadership and hard work.

Christmas Celebration - 2023

Christmas is the festival that inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held at PIS Shirur on 22nd December 2023. The School was beautifully decorated and everybody was dressed in red and white. The entire school campus looked vibrant and festive with all the Christmas decor.

The students of grade I danced to the melodious tunes of ‘Jingle Bells’ and wished Merry Christmas to each other.

The children sang various Christmas Carols. Students presented a skit on the birth of Jesus Christ.

The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. It was truly a joyous day for everyone.

The Respected Principal sir explained to students the importance of Christmas, and its historical background and guided them spiritually by giving them the need for God's blessings in our day-to-day life.

National Mathematics Day Celebration - 2023

"Mathematics is a game played according to certain simple rules with meaningless marks on paper"- David Hilbert.

We Podarities commenced the celebration with a special assembly on National Mathematics Day. Students shared Thought of the Day, Poems, skits, Story Telling and Speech on National Mathematics Day.

Lastly, a Cube solving competition was organised for the students of the Primary and Secondary Sections. In continuation of the celebration, every class in the school did one Math activity in their respective classes.

Podar Volunteer Program - 2023

Under the Podar Volunteer Programme, Podar International School Shirur organised a visit to The Mother Global Foundation's Manshanti Chatralaya on 22nd December 2023.

The school took up the initiative of spreading joy, love and happiness by donating things such as books, stationery, daily essentials, etc.

They packed warmth of love for the needy and brought smiles to the faces of the deprived and needy.

Our Coordinator Mr. Roshan Kalambarkar sir explained to Manshanti Chatralaya-Orphanage staff and children that, At Podar School under the initiative of the Podar Volunteer Programme - Joy of Giving. We create and inculcate values among the students like sharing and caring, donating the things.

Also, Kind and welcoming gestures by the students and staff of Chatralaya their discipline, cleanliness and hygiene, self-prepared daily routine were appreciated by our Podar teachers.

Annual Day Celebration 2023-2024

"The Annual day celebration is a milestone that marks our success and progress."

Podar International School Shirur celebrated Annual Day on 8th December 2023 under the theme "Krishna Kathayein". The students of grades I to X joyfully participated in the most awaited celebration of the year.

The programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Kakasaheb Mohite sir (Principal of City Bora College) and other dignitaries, Mr. Manoj Kale sir (General Managar of Podar Educational Network), Mr. Bipin Mahajan sir (HR), Mr Ajay Ghorpade sir (Principal of Chalisgaon PIS), Mr. Mangesh Jagtap sir (Principal of Ahmednagar PIS), followed by Welcome Song and Welcome Dance.

Under the guidance of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, the Annual Report of the school was presented where the achievements of the school in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas was highlighted.

The audience witnessed different roles of Lord Krishna through dramas and songs. Each performance was unique and special which gave footprint on Lord Krishna's life.

The students who had shown outstanding performance in academics and discipline were honoured by giving away the Trophies. Best Teachers of the year from primary and secondary sections were also felicitated to recognize their contribution and service.

The performance of the students in cultural programme was highly appreciated by all the dignitaries.???? The Respected Principal sir addressed the gathering. Fire Evacuation Mock Drill - 2023

A mock exercise and evacuation drill was conducted on 24th November 2023 at Podar International School, Shirur to educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency like a fire.

The evacuation drill aimed to acquaint the students with the safety measures that are to be taken in case of a fire emergency in school.

At the sound of the hooter, the students and their respective teachers deftly proceeded toward the exit gates and assembled at the designated spots on the school ground. A quick headcount was done by the class teachers.

The demonstration of the use of fire extinguishers was given by Administrative Officer Mr. Vijaykumar Patil sir and supportive staff in the presence of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir and Co-ordinators.

Biz Kids Bazaar (Diwali Mela) was organised to celebrate the joyous festival of Diwali at Podar International School, Shirur.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Mr. Siddharth Chabukswar sir. Respected sir appreciated the school for arranging such a wonderful programme and making the platform available for students to learn marketing from schooling life. He also stated that such programs not only boost confidence among students but also prepare them for the future.

The special performances by the students and the song presentations caught the attention of the audience.

The exhibition showcased our student skills and talent across a wide range of media areas from drawing, painting and sculpture. Students made eye-catching Diyas and lamps.

The great attraction of the program was the different arts and crafts things, game zones and yummy food stalls organised by students.

The most crowded area was Amazing Food Stalls. Parents as well as students enjoyed delicious and Yummy food items.

The Principal sir, Neeraj Rai extended warm and Happy Diwali wishes to the students, teachers and parents present for the program.

Podar International School, Shirur organised the certificate distribution ceremony for students and winners of different co-curricular activities and competitions such as Paper Bag Making Competition, Emoji Making Competition, Report Writing and Pot Decoration activity.

Culminating Event 'Thematic Unit - What we wear (Grade 2)' - 2023

The culminating event ‘Fashion Fiesta’ was organised for the students of grade II at Podar International School, Shirur.

Thematic Learning is a way of teaching and learning, whereby different subjects are connected and integrated within a theme. Thematic learning replaces the regular curriculum for the four weeks of the unit. Students presented the songs that they had been practicing in the Music session. They also performed the dance in groups on "Let's get ready", which amazed everyone. The students performed the role plays on different seasons and types of clothes.

The fashion parade by the students marked the epitome of the event. The students were dressed representing the several states and seasons.

Respected Principal Sir addressed the event and motivated the students.Mother teachers of Grade II, thanked the gathering.

The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Respected Principal Sir, Mr. Neeraj Rai and with the support of parents and the collective efforts of teachers and students of Grade II.

Culminating Event 'Theme - Look where we live (Grade 1)' - 2023

The culminating event "Look where we live" was organised by Podar International School, Shirur. The students of Grade I participated in this event with zeal and enthusiasm. They dressed in colourful clothes and stood at the different neighbourhood's set up in the class and talk about all the different places and people in their neighbourhood.

They focused on presenting the role of Doctor, Nurse, Security guard, Greengrocer, Policeman, Postman, Teacher, Lawyer etc.

The event provided opportunities for the students to showcase their talent and learning. The exciting students achieved a platform for sharing the experience that they have had during this thematic unit.

"Look where we live" event was a wonderful event that reached out to the students and parents to experience neighbourhood community. They watched the performance of their kids, appreciated the creative worksheet and artwork made by students and gave valuable feedback on this event.

Podar International School's Term I Open House event was held on 28th October 2023. It was a demonstration of the school's commitment to providing high-quality education and extracurricular activities. Parents explored the school’s facilities and interacted with the dedicated faculty throughout the day.

Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning at Podar International School, Shirur. Being a diverse country, through such celebrations, students not only learn the significance behind the festival, but they also learn to embrace other traditions and cultures just like they do with their own.

Dusshera is a colourful and vibrant festival. It is celebrated almost in all the major parts of India. Keeping the festive spirit alive, Podar International School, Shirur celebrated the festival of Dussehra on 23rd October 2023.

To emphasize the significance of celebrating festivals, was a special assembly on Dusshera, presented by the energetic students of class VII-Newton on 23rd October 2023. The students presented special theme talk, drama and told the importance of the day. Dussehra signifies the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravana, hence it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Children came dressed in ethnic clothes.

The hardwork of the students was highly appreciated by the Respected Principal sir, Neeraj Rai.

International Millets Year Celebration - 2023

Podar International School celebrated the International Year of Millets as a momentous occasion that aims to raise awareness about the importance of millets in our daily lives and their significant impact on nutrition, sustainability, and food security. The theme for the International Year of Millets 2023 is “Harnessing the untapped potential of millets for food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture.”

The assembly presented by the students of grade III Newton was fabulous. Students emphasized different recipes made and used as food in our daily lives through the script. It aims at educating the students about integrating millet in our everyday diet and spreading awareness about the same.

An ice-breaking activity was conducted for the grades III to VIII. Students made various recipes by using millets like ragi laddu and corn bhel. It provided a platform for students, teachers, and parents to understand the importance of millet in our diets, agriculture, and environment.

The Principal, Neeraj Rai sir also talked about millets and appreciated the unprecedented enthusiasm of the students and the presentation that grabbed the attention of everyone present there.

World Mental Health Day Celebration - 2023

"Health is not just about what you are eating. It is also about what you are thinking and saying."

World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. The theme for the year 2023 is "Mental health is a universal human right."

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated this day with full zeal and enthusiasm by conducting various activities for teachers and students. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class V including the prayer, followed by news, thought and basic information about World Mental Health Day.

An amazing session including a series of fun activities such as Zentangle art and interactive games were organised by the counselor ma'am, Ms. Snehal Daudkar to increase mental health awareness and drive a positive change for everyone’s mental health. Respected Vice-Principal sir, Neeraj Rai also participated in the special session and enjoyed different games and activities.

Pariksha Pe Charcha Certificate Distribution - 2023

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023, an initiative undertaken by the CBSE, is an annual event hosted by the Hon’ble PM, Mr.Narendra Modi, on the agenda of academic and examination-related queries.

The event was praised for promoting a culture of open and honest discussions about education and exams, and for providing valuable insights and suggestions for improving the education system in India.

We feel privileged to announce that more than FORTY-THREE students, who were a part of Pariksha Pe Charcha hosted by PM Mr. Narendra Modi, received the Certificate for their valuable ideas.

Podar International School, Shirur organised Panache Parenting Workshop for the parents of grade I to X. Through this session different strategies such as Musical Sunday Breakfast, create a Ryhthm Chart, Sunday Dance Party, Family Drum Circle, Outdoor Rhymes Walk, Embrace Playfulness, Use Silly Voice and Character, Laugh at Yourself, Share funny Stories, Play Word Games, were discussed with parents which can make parenting a rewarding and joyful experience.

The key points of this session were:

  2. Creates a positive and nurturing environment that supports a child's emotional, social, and cognitive growth.

Parent-Teacher Meeting plays a huge role in shaping a child's educational journey and future academic success.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration & Emersion - 2023

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with great pomp and festivity in school premises.

The air was filled with excitement and devotion as our school welcomed Lord Ganesha with open arms. The festivities began with a grand procession to welcome Lord Ganesha. The rhythmic beats of the 'Lezim,' filled the air as students performed mesmerizing dances in honor of Lord Ganesha.

The Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja began with the chanting of Vedic mantras, setting the spiritual tone for the event. The Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay and Vice principal, Neeraj Rai sir performed the initial pooja. Each staff member as well as students had the opportunity to offer their personal prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha for wisdom, prosperity, and success.

The grand celebration of the 5-day Ganesh festival reached its meaningful conclusion with the immersion of eco-friendly Lord Ganesha idol. Drum beats and bells clanged vigorously to shouts of "Ganpati Bappa Morya" as the young colourfully clad devotees matched step. A beautiful tank was mounted for the immersion, setting the stage for a unique and responsible farewell to our beloved deity.

The school's leadership team, Council members and students joined together to bid a fond farewell to Bappa, took blessings and say goodbye to our lovely Bappa with heavy heart.

After a joyous celebration, we bid adieu to Lord Ganpati, requesting him to come back next year.

Ganesh Idol Making Activity - 2023

To enhance the creativity of learners, to inculcate traditional values amongst learners and also to sensitize them towards the environment, our Podar International School, Shirur celebrated “Eco Friendly Ganesha Making activity with modeling clay.

The students showcased their skills and pay homage to Lord Ganesh through their unique creations. It's a wonderful way to promote eco-friendly idol making and artistic expression. Students overwhelmly participation, happy faces and involvement shown enthusiasm throughout the activity.

Students got to know the importance of Ganesha festival and understand that our old rituals of Indian culture are environment friendly.

This activity celebrates the artistic and cultural aspects of the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. It's a great way to promote eco-friendliness and cultural awareness, expressed by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay.

World Ozone Day Celebration - 2023

"Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need but not every man’s greed."

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated the World Ozone Day on 16th September 2023 with the slogan “Ozone for life” to spread awareness among the students about how crucial the ozone shield is for the life on Earth, its gradual depletion and the need to search for possible solutions to preserve it.

The theme of World Ozone Day 2023 is ''Montreal Protocol: Fixing the Ozone Layer and Reducing Climate Change.''

A special assembly was conducted by the students of classes V comprised of the prayer, followed by news, thought, pledge, and short script on the same.

A script presented by them was informative. A student who played the role of teacher explained the value, importance, causes of degradation and it's effect on human body through this script.

The Ozone layer protests us from harmful UV rays, and it is our responsibility to preserve this layer from the utmost chemical damage, informed by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay.

Emoji making competition 'Prize distribution' - 2023

Hindi diwas celebration - 2023

On 14th September Podar International School celebrated Hindi Diwas with a special assembly that showcased the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of our country. It is the day to revisit our cultural roots and celebrate its richness. Hindi is our mother tongue and we must respect it.

Our students presented their talent and love for the Hindi language, and the results were nothing short of spectacular! From poetry to drama, singing to marvellous speeches, our participants left us awestruck with their incredible performances.

Teachers of Hindi department tried to spread the message of Importance of Hindi through their song. We should be proud of our national language and should learn to speak in the public domain without any hesitation, emphasized by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay.

Celebrating Kabir - 2023

Podar International School Shirur celebrated specially designed two days event as Celebrating Kabir where Sant Kabir was introduced to the students through the various dohas.

In these two days event, different class wise activities were conducted. Grade I and II learnt the importance of prayer. Grade III and IV came to know some values that they can apply in their real life situation.

Short skirt and Role play based on the value was depicted by the students of grade V and VI. Students of grade VI and VII were engaged in meaningful discussions to draw parallels between the social issues Kabir addressed and those we face in contemporary society.

Sant Kabir was one of the greatest Indian poet, philosopher, Humanitarian. He wrote dohe which was based around punctuality, humanity, knowledge, Love, Faith in one self.

Janmashtami Celebration - 2023

On this Krishna Janmashtami, may you break the pots of obstacles and discover the butter of success and happiness.

In a colorful extravaganza of devotion and joy, we Podar International School, Shirur celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with unwavering enthusiasm.

Our primary class students special grade I and II came dressed as Radha Krishna's Divine Circle, adding a touch of magic to the day. The little ones added a traditional touch to the entire celebrations when they danced on the beat of Janmashtami song and performed a choir dedicated to Lord Krishna.

A special assembly of grade VIII students grabbed the attention of all the students. In the spiritual ambience of Radha and Krishna, our students immersed themselves in devotional singing and chanting creating an atmosphere of pure devotion.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay for her outstanding ideas which helped in making the celebration of the birthday of Lord Krishna a memorable one.

The Teacher’s Day celebration was organised with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of grade IX and X to pay the tribute to the great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan at Podar International School, Shirur.

The program started with lighting ceremony by the Principal ma'am along with coordinators. Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Hence to express their gratitude, a wide range of activities were organised on this occasion.

The day commenced with honouring the teachers for their valuable contributions to the school. Thrilling games made the day the most memorable one for the teachers.

The cultural show incorporated with rap song, dance and drama. All the teachers enjoyed and appreciated the program. The audience was mesmerized and the whole ambience was filled with festivity and joy. A grand lunch was part of the celebration.

The students of grade I of Podar International School, Shirur enthusiastically participated in the Culminating Event, "Marvellous Me". The event was designed to showcase the talents, creativity and confidence of students through various performance and activities.

The students took the role of various schools staff members such as Teachers, Principal and Administrative Officer, Account.

A delighted dance performance on the theme "We Are a Family" symbolised the unity and bond shared by all the students. They dressed up as their favourite family members. Students performed songs and expressed their views on family.

A classroom Exhibition was also organised where different objects, worksheets and things were showcased which were made by students under Thematic Unit. Parents were overjoyed and excited throughout the event.

National Sports Day Celebration - 2023

National Sports Day is observed to appreciate and honour the athletes of the country who have been rewarded with prestigious laurels for their wonderful contributions in different sports.

National Sports Day celebration commenced at Podar International School, Shirur with a tribute to Major Dhyan Chand Singh in the special assembly as well as different sports persons were introduced in their real outlook, so that the students would come to know the names of various games and their famous personalities.

To mark the significance of the National Sports Day, the school organized an Inter-House Competition of Throw ball (Grade VIII) and Dodgeball (Grade III & IV) to inculcate the feeling of true sportsmanship among the children.

Onam, the endearing festival of harvest, was celebrated with much zeal, freshness and happiness at Podar International School, Shirur.

The festival of Onam is dedicated to the king Mahabali who sacrificed himself along with his kingdom in order to stand true to his words. The day was marked by the special assembly. Students enacted the mythological story of King Mahabali and traditional dance forms which mesmerized the audience with their grace and skills.

The Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay guided the school by saying that it is a celebration of Kerala's cultural identity, unity, and the spirit of giving. It serves as a reminder of the values of compassion, humility, and the importance of community.

Fireless Sweet Dish Making Activity - 2023

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Fireless Sweet Dish Making Activity was conducted for the students of Grade VI to VIII on 28th August 2023 at Podar International School, Shirur.

Different ingredients like chopped dry fruits, ground nut powder, dates, jaggery powder any many other things added by the students enlarge the taste. The active participation reflected through their happy faces.

This activity was a perfect platform for the students to foster their creativity and help them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest.

Physical Education Activity 'Grade 1' - 2023

Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.

Podar International School, Shirur conducted Physical Education for grade 1 students under the Thematic Activity 'Marvellous Me' where the students circled and interacted with each other and also played the games 'Signal' and performed various exercises.

The entire event was conducted by the PE tutors under the able guidance of the worthy Principal ma'am Dr. Lata Upadhyay.

Children enjoyed performing the event wholeheartedly and energetically.

In Podar International School, Shirur celebrated Independence Day with a lot of pride. The event kicked of with the arrival of our esteemed Chief Guest Deepak Badhe sir and Pramod Gawade sir.

After flag hosting the celebration included March Past of four different houses, speech, dance on Patriotic songs which enables children to demonstrate their talent and learn about the rich legacy of nation and exhibit their love for India.

Our distinguished Chief Guest shared his insights by adding depth to the celebration.

Inter-School Choir Singing Competition - 2023

To celebrate the anniversary of Indian independence, Deccan Education Society English Medium School, Samarth Seva Mandal Shirur, Aviskar Social and Educational Foundation Shirur and Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Branch Shirur organized an Inter-School Choir Singing Competition organized at Deccan School, Baburao Nagar Shirur on 11th August, 2023.

There was a tough fight among sixteen participating schools. The students of Podar International School, Shirur emerged as true champions bagging Second Position in this competition.

Former MLA Kakasaheb Palande, Police Inspector Sanjay Jagtap, President of Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Shirur Nilesh Khabia attended the inauguration of the competition and facilitated the Podarites.

Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay congratulated to the winners for showcasing their brilliance on the stage of singing excellence. A special thanks to our music teacher, Mr. Mohan Bale sir for his hardwork and preparation that helped to hold the position in the competition.

Visit to Shopping Mall 'Grade I and II' - 2023

A meaningful educational field trip with the kids at Shopping Mall.

Students of grade I and II of Podar International School, Shirur were taken to Shopping mall, Reliance Mart as directed and guided by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay as a part of an experiential field trip to supplement their learning process. Students learnt about the concept of departmentalization.

They were shown different sections of the supermarket (fresh fruits & vegetable section, grain section, toiletry section, meat/dairy/frozen food section, bakery, and canned goods, toys, etc.)

Teachers explained them how things are bought, billed and paid for. This also induced in them the feeling of responsibility. Some students shared their shopping experience which they had had with their parents in the same supermarket.

On the whole, it was a fun-filled learning experience for each child.

Drawing Competition in Municipal Council, Shirur - 2023
"Winners don't do different things, they do things differently." Under the Swachh Survekshan 2023 and Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan, Shirur Municipal Council organised a drawing competition on 21 January 2023. We are delighted to announced that Adwait Nandkumar Patil grade VI student of Podar International School, Shirur secured first position in Drawing Competition. Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay congratulated Adwait for this achievement.
PT-1 Open House 2023

"Feedback is a free education to excellence, seek it with sincerity and receive it with grace."

On the day when ‘Open house’ is conducted, parents can talk to the teachers, get to know what is being taught in the class, the teaching methodology being used, changes being made to the existing curriculum. This is extremely important for parents to assess the efforts being made by the school for educating and training their children for becoming successful individuals in the future.

We Podar International School, Shirur successfully conducted PT-1 Open House for grade I to X on 5th August, 2023. Parents interacted with teachers about their wards' progress, performance in the class, active participation in classroom activities and many other things.

Parents discussed about their wards' progress with Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay too. Different methods of children progress came up in discussion with good ideas and suggestions given by principal ma'am.

Books Exhibition - 2023

To celebrate the joy of reading books and to inculcate reading habits among the students Podar International School, Shirur organised Scholastic Book Fair on 5th August 2023. It included a diverse selection of books from several categories to motivate the readers.

The whole area was a glimpse of edufair. The books stalls were decorated to the core. Parents of grade I and II were invited to visit the book fair. They explored all the varied genres of books.

Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay encouraged the students to become avid readers and to explore these treasure houses of deep knowledge.

School Investiture Ceremony 2023-2024

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, you are a leader."

Amidst great enthusiasm and pride, we witnessed the grand Investiture Ceremony at Podar International School, Shirur. The event was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Jagtap (SI) and Mr. Jagdish Pawar (PSI) whose presence added immense charm to the occasion.

The ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the auspicious Lamp of Knowledge followed by warm verbal welcomes, an introduction of the day's proceedings. Our distinguished guest was then felicitated, acknowledging their valuable contributions to education.

Next, we saw the council members marching with pride and taking their oaths of responsibility, promising to lead by example. The newly elected student council members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the school while receiving their prestigious badge and sash from the Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Jagtap and Mr. Jagdish Pawar.

It was a proud moment for all the Parents to witness their children being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders. The Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Jagtap sir motivated students by saying that Leaders are the backbones of the nation. Therefore, it is our responsibility to build good leaders. It is the best intiative taken by the school to give administration to the students. Leaders are not born, they are made. I personally believed that it is not virtual leadership, it's actual readership because you are selected as leaders from the students.

You can lead the family and nation.

Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of us. She said that being a leader is a vital role and that the new Student Council would have ample responsibilities to shoulder.

With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Student Council Elections 2023-2024

The election for the Students’ Council was held at Podar International School, Shirur on 26 July 2023. The objective of appointing the Student’ Council is to provide a platform to the students to develop leadership qualities by organizing and carrying out school activities, help others to solve their problems as a leader.

It was the day the whole school was waiting irrespective of the hierarchy. Digital voting booths were set up by the Election committee. Grade V to X were called one after the other. The young voters responsibly and gleefully cast their votes and proudly displayed the ink smeared finger and announced themselves as the proud citizens of the PIS community.

The entire election process helped the students to adopt 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and decision-making.

Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay made students understand the actual election process, the voting right and the need of election after regular intervals through her speech.

Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration - 2023

In Kargil Vijay Diwas , a day to remember the gallant efforts and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated all across the country on 26th July every year. The day commemorates the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the Kargil war fought against Pakistan in 1999.

At Podar International School Shirur, we marked this momentous occasion with a special assembly, filled with patriotism and a dance performance that resonated with the spirit of the day.

During the school assembly, Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay addressed the students to emphasize the qualities of patriotism, dedication, and selflessness of Indian Armed Forces during the war.

The celebration ended with the school choir singing patriotic songs, instilling a pristine love and respect for our nation.

School Election Campaigning - 2023

Every election is determined by the people who show up.

When candidates actively campaign, they make their members aware that the election is truly a contest in which they should participate. More information on the election, including candidate information, developmental plans or agenda of the candidates and their platforms can inspire members to cast their ballots.

The students of Podar International School, Shirur appeared with great zeal for School Council Election campaigning.

They filled the nomination for various posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, Vice- sport captain, House Captain, Discipline Captain.

Each one campaigned enthusiastically. Nominated candidates were given three minutes to present their views on why they should be elected for the posts they had stood for.

The campaigning ended with the speech given by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay, informing students the importance of election in society, selection of right candidates, avoid any types of malpractices, and value of a vote in election.

A trip around my school 'Grade 1' - 2023

To give the students a break from the monotony of the classroom teaching, Podar International School, Shirur arranged "A Trip Around The School.

The purpose of this activity was for the students to learn and familiarise themselves with the different places in the school.

The students enjoyed thoroughly by visiting Computer Lab, Science Lab, Mathematics Department, Library, Reception Area, Administration Office. They were flabbergasted with sports activities conducted by sports teacher.

The most interactive place they visited was the Principal ma'am's office. Our students opened up and had many discussions with ma'am. Respected Principal mam, Lata Upadhyay illustrated all questions and quires asked by students. The students got a charge out of conversation with principal ma'am.

The trip became an enlightening and pleasant experience for them. The visit concluded with the students sharing their observations through the school trip and discussing their experiences with one another.

Teacher's Training Programme - 2023

Teacher training programme equips teacher with techniques and modern pedagogy strategies that help them to better connect with, manage, and teach students in a manner which ensures all the students are learning and benefiting.

Podar Innovative Center had organised a Teacher's Training Programme on "Implementing and Delivering Outstanding Lesson". It was conducted on 15th July at Podar International School, Shirur.

The Programme was led by Resource person, Mr. Sudhanshu S. Nayak sir. It was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana and lighting the lamp followed by icebreaking session.

Respected sir emphasized on Lesson Opening, Teaching Methodology, Correct Content, Learning Connected and Written work. Noon session was introduced by micro- teaching and discussion. Voice modulation plays a great role in teaching. It is also an effective way to grab the attention of the students. The session ended with a motivational video and positive feedback given by the respected Principal ma'am Dr. Lata Upadhyay as well as teachers.

Paper Bag Competition - 2023

Paper Bag Competition was held at Podar International School, Shirur at 12th July, 2023.
The ardent enrolment, wholeheartedly participation of students display their interest for this competition. Students from various grades earnestly participated in the competition. They decorated bags using old newspaper, sketch pens, mirror glitters, waste material with great joy showing their creativity.

The purpose of this activity was:
1. Reducing plastic waste.
2. Inspiring others to make and use eco-friendly bags.
3. Save the nature.
4. Reuse and recycle.

Each of the bags made by the students was a treat to our eyes. Respected Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyay appreciated students for their amazing creativity and imagination.

Jumpstart Event 'Grade 1 to 8' - 2023

Jumpstart in Integrated English offers kids a great opportunity to learn and improve English communication skills. Throughout the event, various kinds of group activities are conducted which pallows the students to communicate and socialize with peers. Students’ imagination and creativity gets developed along with their vocabulary and communication.

Students of Podar International School, Shirur enjoyed, jumped and started the I.E. Event ‘Young Entrepreneurs’. The school witnessed different grade students performing different activities all at a time.

There were grade I and II students showcased their thoughts on their most and least favorite Business by signing and writing their names on ‘Pick a Business’. While Grade III and IV students prepared a big wish list of their interesting items to be purchased from the Super mart.

Grade V and VI students thought beyond the box and showed their imagination by making use of one single thing in different ways.

Grade VII suggested the importance of Name and its meaning by performing the activity on ‘What’s in a name?’ while grade VIII students also emphasized on their wish of starting their business through the activity My business ideas.

Jumpstart Activity 'Grade 2 - In My Town' - 2023
The Jumpstart Event is designed to hook the students, capture their imagination and generate curiosity about the Thematic Unit - In My Town. The jumpstart event is an activity carried out at the start of the Thematic Unit. All the activities immerse the students in the theme without directly telling them what it is all about. Students of Podar International School, Shirur Grade: 1 enthusiastically participated in the 'Circle Time Activity' where each of them answered one question about themselves with the passing of the soft toy and ball.

Formation of Parents Teacher Association - 2023

A Parent Teacher meeting is a perfect way to discuss the child's progress. It is the best way to help the children and for their academic development.

PTA meeting was conducted for grade I to X parents. They showed their presence enthusiastically. The meeting was held under the guidance of Hon. Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyaya ma'am. The selection process of PTA was done smoothly. The principal ma'am congratulated newly elected members by offering bouquet.

The aims and objectives of Parent Teacher Association are:

Guru Purnima Celebration - 2023

Guru Purnima Day celebration is a memorable event that strengthens the bond between students and teachers while highlighting the importance of values and the role of Gurus in shaping the future generation.

Whatever is not obtained from the Guru, cannot be obtained from elsewhere with the grace of the Guru one indeed gets everything.

On the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a pious celebration was organised at Podar International School, Shirur. From offering prayer to goddess Saraswati to paying respects to the Principal and teachers, students of grade V left no stone unturned in creating a spiritual yet enchanting atmosphere in the school.

The students of grade Xth overwhelmingly expressed their views on the welcoming changes made in the school by respected Principal ma'am, Dr.Lata Upadhyay.

A beautiful mythological drama depicting the importance of guru in our life was awesomely performed by our students who disguised themselves as Eklavya and Dronacharya.

Sexual Harassment is a heinous misconduct. Podar International School, Shirur has formed ICC i.e, Internal Complaint Committee under which the protection of the rights of Women is taken care of and also women are given equal respect and responsibilities as that of men and same has been included as same in the HR Policy.

The committee saw Adv. Bhagyashree Sunil Bora, Ms. Ashwini Balasaheb Kardile from NGO along with the Principal Dr. Lata Upadhyay and coordinator Ms. Swati Mamidanna as the foremost members and all the lady teachers as members. Conducting the meetings regularly regarding the agenda of the committee was the most talked point of the meeting.

Doctor's Day Celebration - 2023

National Doctors’ Day is a day to thank the doctors who work tirelessly for the society and remain on call 24/7. Without doctors, society would be plagued with diseases and soon end. It is essential that the efforts of doctors be applauded to inspire them and motivate them to tread pridefully on the path of service to society.

In celebration of this special day, our students of grade V of Podar International School, Shirur took initiative to visit doctors in our locality. They expressed heartfelt gratitude for their tireless efforts and presented sapling as a token of love to honour their invaluable service.

Ashadhi Ekadashi Celebration - 2023

Varkari is a religious movement within the bhakti spiritual tradition of Hinduism. Every year, Varkari walk hundreds of miles to the holy town of pandharpur. During the entire journey, continuous chanting of the Lord's name (Nam Japa), singing of holy songs (abhang).

With the same zeal our students at Podar International School, Shirur enjoyed the festive celebration of the ASHADHI EKADASHI. The entire school campus reverberated with the chanting of "Vitthal-Vitthal, Jai Hari Vitthal".

A well decorated palki was the attraction of this programme. Students performed dance on the song Gajar maulicha and sang a Bhajan- Vitthal-Vitthal gajari.

All the students in their ethnic attire offered prayers to Lord Vitthala.
On this occasion, a dazzling procession was also organized to give students exposure of Pandharpur Vari. Through this celebration, students became aware of spirituality, divinity and selflessness.

International Olympic Day Celebration - 2023

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated International Olympic day on 23rd June 2023. The programme was led by grade VIII students. They performed a role play of Indian athletes, and gave some basic information about their sports. The celebration was an initiative to encourage every student to participate in different types of games and to raise awareness of variety of sports.

Hon. Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyaya talked on the theme of International Olympic Day that is - "Let's Move". Ma'am also suggested students should engage in sports so that you can stay active and fit.

International Yoga Day Celebration - 2023

"Yoga is the journey of the self, to the self, through the self."

An energetic yoga session was conducted at Podar International School, Shirur. The programme started with a welcome song. The students of grade I to X participated in the session. It was led by Trainer Dr. Sri Rajendra Varpe sir. Different yoga poses were performed such as tadasana, natarajasana, ardha chandrasana, vajrasana, pranayam, etc. P.E teachers, Mr. Pravin Patil sir also told students the benefits of these positions. Students of grade VI performed a dance through various yoga positions.
