Our Mother's Day event was filled with joy as mothers entered with smiles and pride. The show kicked off with a fabulous ramp walk featuring mom and child, followed by a marvellous talent show showcasing their unique talents.

The joy on the mothers' faces was priceless! The celebration concluded with a lucky draw, where three lucky moms won prizes. Moms shared their heartfelt appreciation for the event.

Mock Fire Drill - 2024
Podar International School, Mangalore, conducted a mock fire drill on 16 October, 2024. The emergency bell was rung, immediately after which, students and staff gathered at the assembly point through the emergency exit points. Once there, head count was taken and students were briefed about the safety measures they need to observe in such situations. Students found it to be a very informative session.

Hindi Diwas Celebration - 2024

Podar International School, Mangalore, celebrated Hindi Divas with great enthusiasm on 14th September 2024. The event, aimed at honoring the significance of Hindi as the national language, was compared by Rahana Ganguly of Grade 8.

The students showcased a vibrant cultural program that included dance performances, group singing, expressive poem recitations written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, an impressive poetry reading session, and a melodious keyboard performance, which added a musical touch to the occasion.

Independence Day Celebration - 2024

We kicked off a week-long celebration with an oath-taking ceremony and a variety of student competitions. Our school corridors, classrooms, and house boards came alive with patriotic decorations, and we played patriotic songs each morning to set the tone. We also encouraged our parents to participate in the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign.

On Independence Day, we celebrated with a welcome dance, flag unfurling, and the national anthem. Highlights included a cultural program, the launch of our newsletter, a moment of honoring our senior teacher, a guest speech by Prof. Radhakrishna K, and sweet distribution.

Kaushala Day 3 - 2024

Grades 1-8 had Quality Circle Time discussing story building on their favourite toy, favourite sports and its rules, and the significance of upholding traditions.

Other activities included a session on segregation of waste by Mr. Bhuvan & Mr. Jeeth, followed by a field trip (Grade 4,5), classroom decoration, Aati celebration along with Aati food, and Art & Craft works.

Kaushala Day 2 - 2024

Podar International School, Mangalore, we organized Kaushala Day-2 for the academic year 2024-25.

Grades 1-4 learned book binding skills, Grades 6-7 explored a paddy field hands-on, and Grade 8 volunteered at Bala Samrakshana Bhavan.

Grades 1-5 had Quality Circle Time discussing happy memories, supporting others, and respecting people.

Other activities included sessions on good touch/bad touch, a plantation drive, and basic classical dance for Grade 5.

In the afternoon, students enjoyed making bookmarks and painting old t-shirts. Fun and learning were on the agenda all day!

Student Council Investiture Ceremony 2024-2025

We are delighted to share the wonderful moments from Podar International School's Student Council Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2024-25! The event was graced with the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Ms. Geetha D Kulkarni, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Principal Mr. Girish Kumar, parents of student council members, and our teaching and non-teaching staff.

The ceremony commenced with a brief introduction to investiture, setting the stage for an unforgettable day. Our talented Grade-4 students mesmerized everyone with a captivating welcome dance. Master Tanay Rajesh of grade-7 welcomed the gathering and the chief guest was felicitated by the principal.

Ms. Maanya S and Master Tanmay Jain of Grade 7, our Masters of Ceremony, introduced our prefects who marched proudly to the stage. The highlight of the ceremony was the badge pinning ceremony, where badges were pinned by Chief Guest ACP Ms. Geetha D Kulkarni, Principal Mr. Girish Kumar, and the parents of our prefects.

Ms. Geetha D Kulkarni addressed the audience with humility and wisdom, highlighting important precautions against cybercrime, such as avoiding unknown links and video calls from unfamiliar numbers. Her informative talk included updates on the revised names of IPC,IRPC and left a lasting impact on all present.

The energy soared with our victory song, filling our prefects with renewed vigor as they took their oath administered by Principal Mr. Girish Kumar. The ceremony continued with proud moments as the school flag and house flags were passed on by the principal and housemistresses respectively, followed by inspiring acceptance speeches from our Head Boy Mohammed Afeef and Head Girl Poojana Jayaram. When the head boy Mohammed Afeef spoke about leadership, how he will try to create an inclusive, dynamic, and innovative environment; the head girl Poojana jayaram shared her plans on uplifting and supporting each student's growth.

Principal Mr. Girish Kumar expressed his joy at the promising leadership shown by Mohammed Afeef and Poojana Jayaram, emphasizing the importance of inclusive leadership and teamwork. He commended the efforts of parents and teachers in shaping these future leaders, urging all prefects to lead with integrity and empathy. He expressed his happiness on how the head girl and head boy expressed their way forward-way they are going to lead the school. He added, "if the vision is correct, the approach is right,then naturally nobody can stop us from excelling". He made the prefects aware about their responsibilities. He advised the students to become "a leader" rather than "a boss'. He also reminded "the true leaders have an approach of taking people together and moving forward". He shared his joy and pride of saying that all the previous student council has proved themselves with this approach.

The ceremony concluded on a harmonious note with the Podar song, symbolizing unity and school pride. Soham Poojary of Grade 7 delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

Mock Fire Drill - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore conducted a mock fire drill to ensure everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency. We successfully evacuated the entire building in 2 minutes 40 seconds after the alarm sounded.

Principal Mr. Girish Kumar gave a brief but informative session to the students and staff, including our new members.

He highlighted the importance of these drills and shared the total evacuation time, encouraging everyone to improve their speed for future drills.

He also emphasized the importance of staying calm, follow the line, avoid falling and take care of each other while exiting the building.

The drill was a valuable learning experience, ensuring that all students and staff are always prepared for any emergency.

IE 'Legends of Laughter A Tribute to Comic Creators' - 2024

The first IE assembly for the academic year 2024-25, centered around the theme "Legends of Laughter: A Tribute to Comic Creators," was conducted today by the students of Ignis House.

This event served as a heartfelt homage to the iconic comic artists who have left an everlasting mark on the world.

Under the guidance of their respective housemistresses and IE in-charge, the students showcased an engaging Interview skit. In this skit, they portrayed legendary figures such as Anant Pai (creator of Amar Chitra Katha), Stan Lee (creator of Marvel Comics), Charles Schulz (creator of Peanuts), and Pran Kumar Sharma (the genius behind Chacha Chaudhary).

Through their performances, the students not only paid tribute but also delved into the origins of these comic creators.

The skit provided a fascinating glimpse into how these pioneers embarked on their creative journeys and crafted stories that continue to captivate children worldwide.

It was an enriching experience for the students, as they felt as though they were meeting the architects of the comic industry from various corners of the globe.

World Environment Day Celebration - 2024

The morning assembly served as the perfect curtain-raiser for this special day, with the guidance and support of our Principal Mr. Girish Kumar and Academic Coordinator Ms. Bhavya V, our students were enlightened about the significance of Environment Day and how each of us can contribute to this cause.

With competitions like drawing, fancy dress, and elocution, our students showcased their creativity while raising awareness about environmental issues.

The highlight of the day was the tree planting activity, where each grade, alongside their class teachers, planted a sapling. This symbolic gesture reflects our commitment to nurturing and protecting our environment for future generations.

Kaushala Dina - 1 - 2024

Kaushala Dina-1, for the academic year 2024-25 was conducted on 5th June 2024 at Podar International School, Mangalore. Aligned with the theme of "Environment Day," the day commenced with a special assembly and sapling planting ceremony, followed by a series of competitions organized for the students.

Students from grades 8 to 10 were privileged to attend a career guidance session led by Mr. Gaurav Kumar Jha, an esteemed education entrepreneur and physics mentor. Mr. Jha provided valuable insights on preparing for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, Olympiads, and NTSE.

Simultaneously, students from grades 1 to 7 participated in quality circle time activities and convened for their respective house meetings during the morning session.

The afternoon session was adorned with vibrant displays of art and craft works created by the students, under the expert guidance of our dedicated teachers.

15 Books Campaign - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore proudly commenced the 15 Books Campaign for the academic year 2024-25, to nurture the reading habit among our students. The event was graced by Principal Mr. Girish Kumar, who unveiled the campaign poster and addressed the students.

The 15 Books Campaign is open to all students enrolled at Podar International School Mangalore. While participation is voluntary, it is highly encouraged. Participants are challenged to read 15 books from different genres. During his address, Mr. Girish Kumar motivated students to expand their reading beyond these 15 books and emphasized the importance of reading. He also encouraged students to write and publish their own books.

The inauguration ceremony was further enriched by the presence of Ms. Aadhya Garg from Grade 7 and Ms. Prakanya S from Grade 8, who have already showcased their talent by writing and publishing their own books.

We hope this campaign will be a great success and that students will make the most of this wonderful opportunity to enhance their reading and writing skills.

World No Tobacco Day - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore observed World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) on 31 May 2024 with the objective of reducing tobacco consumption and raising awareness among the community. Recognizing the vital role schools play in shaping future generations, our students from Grades 8 to 10 took the initiative to educate their peers from Grades 1 to 7 about the significance of this day.

Through an engaging PowerPoint Presentation, they explained the adverse effects of tobacco use and shared strategies on how to quit. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and sharing their views and suggestions on the topic.

We are proud of our students for their commitment to promoting a healthier, tobacco-free future. Together, we can make a difference!

Student Council Election 2024-25

We are excited to share the successful completion of the Student Council Election for the academic year 2024-25! The election was held on 30 May 2024 to appoint new leaders for the following positions:
Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl, Sports Captain (Boy) Sports Captain (Girl), Activity Captain (Literary), Activity Captain (Cultural), School Editors. Our election process was designed to be fair and engaging, ensuring that every student had a voice. It was conducted by following procedures like Nominations, Campaigning, Voting, Counting.

The results were declared on 31 May 2024.

IE Jumpstart Activity 'Exploring Superhero Powers' - 2024
Podar International School Mangalore, organized the Jumpstart activity ‘Exploring Superhero Powers’, under the IE theme ‘Ink and Imagination- Crafting Tales Through Comics’ on 23rd May, 2024. Students from grades 1 to 7 explored superhero themes through imaginative activities. Grades 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7 envisioned their own superpowers, while Grade 3 enhanced their favorite heroes' abilities. Grade 4 delved into beloved cartoon and comic characters, and Grade 8 crafted dialogues for Snoopy. These activities fostered creativity and storytelling skills, enriching students' educational experience.

At Podar International School, Mangalore, a Thematic Learning event was organized on 09/03/2024. The event, aimed at fostering holistic development, brought together students, teachers, and parents in an enriching educational experience. Subjects such as EVS, Physical Education, Integrated English, Music, and Art were intricately woven into the curriculum to create a multidimensional learning environment. Students enthusiastically embraced the theme by dressing up as travelers and tour guides. The Culminating Event was a vibrant showcase of talents, featuring action songs, group dances, skits, demonstration of yoga, tongue twisters, and fascinating facts about different places. No Bag Day - 2024
Podar International School Mangalore, organized a No bag Day- A day without bags on 9 March 2024. Students were enthusiastically engaged in various activities like Fruit Chat Party, Bangle Art Making and Earring Making. Quality circle time, during which students spoke on a variety of topics: Importance of a Balanced Diet, Qualities I Am Good At, Qualities I Need to Work Upon, Importance of Planning and Organizing. Students thoroughly enjoyed making and sharing the fruit chats and designing colourful earrings of various shapes and sizes.
Girls Welfare Committee and Boys Welfare Committee - 2024

Podar International School, Mangalore, as part of the Girls Welfare Committee and Boys Welfare Committee organised a session on 07/03/2024. The resource person, Principal Mr. Girish Kumar discussed the Book by Stephen Covey, ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’. The 7 habits were dealt with in detail and how it can be practically applied by the students was explained. An activity was done in groups which provided a transformative guide for personal and professional success. Emphasis was given on proactive thinking, prioritization, effective communication and collaboration. The session threw light on the fact that one can build personality by altering one’s habits.

Career Guidance Session - 2024
Podar International School, Mangalore, organised a Career Guidance Session on 07/03/2024, for students of Grades VII to IX. The resource person for the session was Principal Mr. Girish Kumar. Through the session students were exposed to the different carree options available in the present scenario. An in-depth explanation was given regarding each option and what each career offered. Queries raised by the students were addressed by the speaker. The session was immensely enriching and interesting.
Mock Fire Drill - 2024
Podar International School, Mangalore, conducted a mock fire drill on 6 March, 2024. The emergency bell was rung, immediately after which, students and staff gathered at the assembly point through the emergency exit points. Once there, head count was taken and students were briefed about the safety measures they need to observe in such situations. Different rescue methods were demonstrated. It was an informative and practical session for students.
Podar Volunteer Program 'Donation Drive for the Children's Orphanage' - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore, conducted a Podar Volunteer Program on 29 February 2024. To instill a sense of empathy and social responsibility in our students, a Donation Drive for the “Children’s Orphanage - Bala Samrakshana Kendra’, Kuttar is organised every month. The centre was visited by council members. Students from each class contribute to this noble cause by bringing specific materials or items designated to their respective classes. This being the last visit to the orphanage for this academic year, collection from IE events conducted by the school was also utilised to buy essential items which included a wet grinder, cooker, cloth stand etc.. as per the requirement of the orphanage.

Art Exhibition 'Art In Focus and a Science Fair - Imprints' - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore, organized an ART EXHIBITION - Art In Focus and a SCIENCE FAIR -Imprints, Mathematical Marvels, Code-A-Thon, on 28 February 2024.

Chief guest Mr. Harisha Shetty (Principal, KPT, Mangalore ) encouraged students giving a patient ear to the demonstrations presented by them. He even gave a few inputs of his own which was a great motivation for the students. Talent, creativity and a lot of hard work were on display by students who presented working models of Robotic arm, Sensor parking area, Water purifier, Hydraulic lifter, Homemade battery, Sensor glasses and several other interesting items. Art works of students were also on display. Parents who visited the exhibition appreciated the efforts put in.

IE Theme 'Significant People - Parivartan Drive' - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore, organized the culminating event ‘Parivartan Drive', under the IE theme ‘Significant People’- The Event and Characters that changed the World’ on 23 February 2024. Students presented a street play 'Be The Change To Be Change’ to create awareness on spreading kindness and acceptance and the importance of following traffic rules. It was organised at 3 different venues- Lalbagh, Kottara Chowki and Kavoor Junction. Students accompanied by their parents gathered and encouraged the performing students at the different sites. In their feedback, Traffic Police Vishwanath (Kavoor), Traffic Police Kanthappa (Kottara Chowki), Senior citizens and parents (Kavoor Junction) lauded the students' performance and messages conveyed by them.

International Mother Language Day - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore celebrated International Mother Language Day on 21 February 2024, with the aim to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.

A special assembly was conducted to acknowledge the fact that ‘Language’ forms the foundation block in communication. It is important to respect, acknowledge and understand each other's language to effectively communicate. Accordingly, teachers and students presented a skit, speech and songs to convey the same message. A language exhibition in the form of charts, models and games was organised which showcased different aspects of various languages. It was a treat for both teachers and students alike.

Special Assembly 'World Day of Social Justice' - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore conducted a special Assembly on 20 February 2024 to observe the World Day of Social Justice. It is an international day recognizing the need to promote social justice, which includes efforts to tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion, gender inequality, unemployment, human rights, and other social issues. Principal Mr. Girish Kumar in his address, stressed on two important areas where injustice is brazenly seen - gender inequality and child labour. He urged the students as educated and responsible persons to discourage any such practice seen in society. The event helped create awareness among the students on this important issue.

Annual Sports Meet 'Udaan' 2023-2024

Podar International School Mangalore conducted its 6th Annual Sports meet- 'Udaan' on 17 February 2024. The day started with the welcoming and introduction of the Chief Guest, Inspector Khushboo Singh (Reserve Inspector, CISF Unit NMPA, Mangalore). This was followed by flag hoisting and the Inter-House March Past, a highly competitive event where the four houses vied for first place. The torch was carried and lit by outstanding athletes. The oath was taken by the sports captains of the four houses. The Chief Guest and the Principal in their address to the gathering stressed on the importance of sports in our curriculum and how sports in turn instills discipline in students.

The audience next witnessed various drill displays using dumbells, hoops, pom poms, and lezims which showcased flexibility and synchronization among the students. The displays made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof.

The winners were rewarded with medals and certificates and congratulated for their victory. The zealous parents, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the enthusiastic young sports stars. The day ended with the delivery of the vote of thanks. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.

Podar International School Mangalore, celebrated Terra House Day on 10/2/2024, which gave a platform to the house students to display their talents and achievements. Songs, dances, a skit from the life of Abdul Kalam, the Icon of Ignis house and a variety of entertainment programs kept the audiences enthralled. A colurful presentation and enjoyed by all.

Podar International School Mangalore, organized No bag Day 'A day without bags' on 10 February 2024. Students were engaged in activities like BASKET MAKING, HOUSE COMPETITIONS, CLUB ACTIVITIES. Sessions on FIRST AID DISPLAY and use of AI TOOLS-CANVA software were organised. Quality circle time, during which quizzes on different topics were conducted in each class. Students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the various events.

Field Trip to Sevashram - 2024
Podar International School Mangalore's Field Trip to Sevashram, Pelathadi: Exploring under the theme 'SIGNIFICANT PEOPLE- Characters and Events that changes the World” through Acts of Kindness. Grades 7-9 Students shared their Joy with a Song and Dance, Donated Essentials, and Shared Heartwarming Moments at the Old Age Home. The visit to the old age home was a valuable experience for both the students and the residents. Students got an exposure on the life of the residents and the need for encouraging empathy within our community.
Field Trip to Animal Care Trust 'Exploring Tails of Love' - 2024
Podar International School Mangalore, organized a Field Trip- "Exploring Tails of Love: Grade 4-6 Embark on an Exciting Adventure to the Animal Shelter in Shakthinagar, Mangalore – Where Compassion Meets Creatures!" under the IE theme SIGNIFICANT PEOPLE- Characters and Events that Changed the World. Students got the opportunity to see the different animals that are cared for at the Animal Shelter, and learned the different ways that they can help animals in their community, such as volunteering at a shelter or fostering a pet. It was an enriching experience for the students which showed them the importance of caring for animals.
15 Book Campaign - 2024
Podar International School, Mangalore concluded the 15-Book Campaign on 31 January 2024. The campaign began on 2 June 2023. The campaign succeeded in encouraging students to inculcate the practice of reading. Students who achieved the task were awarded certificates.
Farewell 2023-2024

Podar International School, Mangalore organized a heartfelt ‘Farewell function’ to bid adieu to the outgoing 10th standard students on 20 January 2024. The venue was adorned with vibrant decorations, creating a festive atmosphere for the students to cherish their final moments in the school. The farewell function commenced with a warm welcome, a prayer and then various cultural performances by the juniors added color and vibrancy to the event.

One of the highlights of the farewell function was the heartwarming speeches given by the principal, teachers and students. Teachers shared anecdotes, praised the students for their accomplishments, and imparted words of wisdom for their future endeavors. Students, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the school, teaching and non-teaching staff for their support and guidance. Students were given mementos by the Principal.

As the event drew to a close, a sentiment of bittersweet emotions lingered in the air. The students were bid farewell with a mix of joy and sadness as they embark on a new chapter in their lives. The farewell function served as a poignant reminder to the outgoing batch of the shared memories, friendships, and experiences that shaped their school years.

IE 'Fashion show and skit' - 2024

Podar International School Mangalore, under the IE-Theme: ‘MYTH BUSTERS’ culminated in Myths & Legends - ‘Believe It or Not! The module on ‘MYTHBUSTERS’ aimed at educating students on the concept of Myths and Legends, understanding the relevance of myths and legends in exploring the history, traditions, beliefs & customs of various communities and countries across the world.

Various activities were organised like, ‘Characters come alive’ for students of Grade 1 & 2, a’ Fashion Show’, wherein boys and the girls of Grade 3 & 4 walked on the ramp like royal princes and the princess. Characters from popular fairy tales like Goldilocks, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Prince, Super Heroes like - Batman, Spiderman, Hulk, Thor and so on was brought to life by students of Grade 5&6, ‘Knit a Skit’ and ‘A Myths and Legends Quiz’ was conducted for students of Grade 7&8.

IE Jumpstart Activity 'Significant Day' - 2023

The focus of the theme - ‘Significant People- Characters and Events that Changed the World’ is to empower the students to understand the talents /skills/ qualities/ philosophies of the significant people of the world and see how students can explore their own qualities, enhance them and become significant in the future. The main aim of the Jumpstart activity is to build excitement and interest among the students about the upcoming theme, ‘Significant People’ and to create opportunities for the students to express their feelings and thoughts in the school.

Grade 1 to 3 participated in the activity named I AM GOOD AT...... where they wrote their strongest talent/ skill that they have which can make them significant in future.

Grade 4 to 5 Participated in the activity MY STAR QUALITIES, The activity will encourage the students to think about their own different skills and qualities.

National Youth Day Celebration - 2024
Podar International School, Mangalore celebrated ‘Youth Day’ on 12 January 2024, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest philosophers and spiritual leaders. In the special assembly students presented a speech on the life of Swami Vivekanand. Songs and famous quotes of his were presented with the aim of sensitizing students about the philosophies, principles and ideas of Swami Vivekanada. Apart from this, a number of competitions like poster making, singing and a skit were presented on the theme of ‘Youth Empowerment’. Students were motivated to be good citizens of India, thereby contributing to the development of the country.

Podar International School Mangalore, organized No bag Day 'A day without bags' on 13 January 2024. A Special Assembly was conducted on the occasion of Makara Sankranthi, the significance of the festival and making of Yellu Bella was shared with the students. IE 'Field Trip to Kalanghann' - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, conducted an IE field trip on Saturday 9/12/2023. Students of Grade 1st, 2nd and 3rd were taken for Kalanghann, - The Konkani Heritage Centre, near Shakthi Nagar. It is a beautiful place where folk tales were depicted through the sculptures on walls, which were really admirable. Students saw some of the traditional articles used in the household of ancient Mangalore. The Kalangann theater is constructed on the lines of the Greek theatre style. Every week dramas are performed in the Theatre.

Halloween is a fun day observed in various parts of the world on 31st October every year With the same festive spirit, the Podar International School Mangalore geared up to celebrate this day on 31 October 2023 as a part of IE events.

The students came dressed in various outfits to mark the welcoming of good spirits and driving away bad spirits .It was organised by Terra house students to learn, enjoy, encourage to appreciate differences in culture and customs and also to make them aware of global festivals and their values.

Students performed as ghosts and vampires on stage in their attires during the school assembly. Students displayed a lot of Halloween theme items on the background.

There was much excitement all around. The assembly ended on a happy note.

Podar International School, Mangalore explored the magical imagination in our students of Grade 1 to Grade 8 through various Jumpstart activities on 25/10/2023 under the theme "MYTHBUSTERS- Uncovering Myths, Fairy Tales and Legends Engraved in Time". Grade 1 and 2, expressed their favourite fairy tail through the activity "MY FAVOURITE FAIRY TALE" .Grade 3 and 4 involved in the activity by speaking about their lucky thing through the activity *"MY LUCKY THING". Grade 5 involved and expressed in the activity "IF I HAD A MAGIC WAND" the things to change. Grade 6, 7 and 8, explored their imagination through the activity "WRITE A WORD FOR THE MAGICAL CREATURES FROM HARRY POTTER" Students were encouraged by the teachers to bring out more ideas and creativity. All of them participated enthusiastically.

Deepawali Celebration - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, celebrated Deepavali on 9 November 2023. The significance of celebrating the festival of lights was shared with the students. Dances and songs to celebrate the theme were beautifully presented. Apart from this, Rangoli making, face painting, tattoo making and mehendi activities were also organised.

The importance of the day was shared. Teachers stole the show with a variety of dances and songs. Students enjoyed the amazing performances. The day ended with a tug-of-war competition between the houses and a little gift as a token of love from the school on Children’s day.
Aqua House Day - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, conducted Aqua House Day on 7/11/2023, which gave a platform to the house students to display their talents and achievements. Students presented a variety of entertainment programs in the form of dances, skits and speeches. As their theme is water, the importance of saving and using water judiciously was highlighted. A portrait of the house icon Rabindranathe Tagore was also presented which left the students thrilled. Later a pledge was taken by all the students to save and to use water prudently.
Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, celebrated KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA on 1 November 2023 by organizing KANNADA BHAASHE YAATHRE (Procession) from Kottara Chowki to the school. Chief Guest Mr. Kiran Kumar, Mangalore Corporator Bangra, Kuloor addressed the gathering and flagged off the procession. Students enthusiastically participated in large numbers. National Unity Day Celebration 'Ekta Diwas' - 2023

Field trip to NITK Surathkal - 2023

Students of Podar International School Mangalore had the amazing opportunity to visit NITK Surathkal on 13/10/2023. They had the chance to attend an open house of their labs and it was mind-blowing. They explored the bio gas plant, where they convert organic waste into renewable energy. It was fascinating to see their sustainable practices in action, which highlighted the importance of environmental conservation."

Podar Premier League - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, before breaking off for the Dusshera vacation, organized a friendly cricket match ‘Podar Premier League’ for parents on 13 October, 2023. Response from the parents was overwhelming, around 8 teams were formed. Teams included a team of the school staff, students and the rest were teams of parents. An enthralling day of matches, the crowd cheered their respective teams. The game brought out the sportsmanship and bonding of the players. The parent’s team which won were awarded a trophy, trophies and medals were also awarded to the runners-up, best batsman and all rounder of the match.
Dandiya Nights - 2023

Podar International School Mangalore, celebrated –NAVARATHRI by organising a Dandiya Night on 13 October 2023. Dussera is celebrated to symbolize the triumph of good over evil.

The celebration started by offering prayers to Goddess Navdurga. Briefing was given on the significance of the festival of nine nights- ‘Navaratri’. Students along with their parents joined the festival of nine nights dressed up in colourful traditional attire. A few games were organised. Later the crowd swayed to the beats and rhythm of the music of Dandiya. The enthusiasm and frenzy was infectious. While some grooved on the music, others were seen relishing the refreshments.

The Garba celebration was a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, with people of all backgrounds, ages coming together to dance, enjoy music, savor delicious food, take memorable selfies, and partake in fun activities. This annual event continues to be a celebration of culture, diversity, and the joy of Navratri, creating unforgettable memories for all who attend.

The theme of millet year - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, on 12 October 2023, held a session on modern Farming, in connection with the theme of the ‘Millet year’. Mr. Sathyaraj Kotian, the resource person shared how he developed an interest in farming though he was working in a software company. Students listened with keen interest the processes involved in farming; the way the land needs to be readied and then planting seeds and how long they need to wait before the first harvest. A few curious questions from the students were also addressed by the speaker. Farming being the backbone of our country, the session was highly appropriate for today’s children, who are losing touch with this very vital occupation.
Gandhi Jayanti Celebration - 2023

Podar International School Mangalore, on 2 October 2023, paid homage to the father of the nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and the 2nd Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Respect was paid to Bapuji through bhajans by the teachers. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, the Principal in his message highlighted the principles of Gandhi which holds true even today; The principles of truth, non-violence and cleanliness. He also stressed on the importance of farmers in our nation, which was conveyed through the slogan of Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri, ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan'.

Hour Peace - 2023

It's wonderful to hear about the unique program organized by Pranic Healing Kadri at Podar International School Mangalore for the students of Grade 1 to 10 on August 19, 2023. The event titled "HOUR PEACE" Meditation and Super Healing sounds like a beneficial experience for the students.

Led by Ms. Laxmi, the team head, the session included various exercises aimed at preparing the students for the "hour peace" meditation. It's intriguing to learn that this session was also conducted across Karnataka on the same day. The meditation itself lasted for about 20 minutes, yet it managed to leave a significant impact on the students who participated. It's always great to see events that promote mindfulness and well-being among students.

Independence Day Celebration - 2023

Podar International School Mangalore, celebrated the 77th Independence day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 15 August 2023. The school campus was beautifully adorned with flags and decorations of the tri-colour. The program began with the welcoming and felicitation of the honorable Chief Guest, Sri.Devdas Pai, by the Principal Mr. Girish Kumar. Sri.Devdas Pai is an Air Force Personnel, who has served the Indian Air Force for more than 20 years. The National Flag was hoisted and the National Anthem was sung with true patriotism.

To add colour to the event, patriotic dances and a skit was presented by the students, through which was shared the message of 'What is Patriotism'. The event also marked the release of the first edition of the school Newsletter, 'Campus Roots' for the Academic Year 2023-24.

The Chief Guest in his very valuable and inspiring message shared the importance and need to build a good character and practice good values. He urged the students to excel in whichever field they are in, saying no job is inferior or superior, but added that every job has its own value and each person is needed for the smooth functioning of any society. So one should have dignity and pride in whatever one does. The Principal in his speech added to these thoughts. The program concluded with the delivery of the vote of thanks and distribution of sweets.

A day without bags - 2023
Podar International School Mangalore, organized 'A day without bags’ on 12 August 2023. Students were engaged in activities like, Book Binding, Paper Bag/Sun Dial Making, Pen Stand Making, Sewing And Stitching, Mandala Art Basics, Recycling The Paper , Quality Circle Time, Key Bunch Making were conducted. An exhibition on medicinal plants which are used during the rainy season were shown and explained to the students. Online Admission Process:

  1. Complete the online application form.
  2. The following documents are to be uploaded while filling out the online application form:
    • Student’s Birth Certificate.
    • Student’s Aadhaar Card.
    • School Leaving Certificate (can be submitted later if currently not available) (Std 2 onwards).
    • UDISE Number (Unified District Information System for Education) from current school (Std 2 onwards).
    • Student's previous/current class Report Card (Std 2 onwards).
    • Address proof (any one): a) Ration Card, b) Electricity Bill, c) Passport, d) Aadhaar Card.
    • Aadhaar card of any one parent/guardian.

  3. After submitting the online application form, if there are seats available in the standard that you have applied to, an email with a payment link for the first-term fees will be sent to you. Parents are requested to make the necessary payment online.

Offline Admission Process:

  1. Complete the application form either online or collect the form from the school.
  2. Please submit the completed application form along with the following documents at the School Office:
    • Photocopy of Student’s Birth Certificate.
    • Photocopy of Student’s Aadhaar Card.
