Podar International School Mangalore Honors Community Helpers by organizing a heartwarming event titled "Thanksgiving to Community Helpers," aimed at recognizing and appreciating the selfless contributions of individuals who serve the community daily.
During the event, former municipal member Mr. Kiran Kumar Kodikal was the chief guest. While speaking, he emphasized the vital role of municipal workers in keeping our city clean, well-maintained, and providing a healthy environment. He appreciated the unique event organized by Podar School and hoped that it would serve as a model for everyone.
He also expressed his gratitude, saying that organizing a thank-you event for the community helpers during his five years of service and participating as a guest to honor them was commendable. He praised Podar School for organizing such a meaningful event.
A Grand Showcase of Talent and Patriotism
The much-anticipated Annual Day celebration, Spandan 2024-2025, was a grand and memorable event held with great enthusiasm. Graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. P Anantha Krishna Bhat, Guest of Honour, Ms. Anuradha Shivaram, and the guest, Mr. Suresh Mahalingpur, the event showcased the incredible talent and creativity of our students.
The event began with a welcome song followed by dance performances, the annual report presentation, and the prize distribution ceremony. The cultural performances mesmerized the audience, including Karnataka Vaibhava, a tribute to our state's rich heritage. The thematic presentation, "Tales of Freedom Struggle", featured powerful portrayals of valiant freedom fighters, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
The audience was enthralled by the stunning finale dance. Adding to the festive atmosphere, a special Christmas Surprise Celebration brought joy and excitement, enhancing the day's vibrant spirit.
The program concluded with the soulful Podar Song and the National Anthem, leaving the audience filled with pride and unity.
We kicked off our Integrated Learning Programme's new theme, "Pattern Prism – Unravelling, Creating, Connecting: Where Patterns Come to Life!" with an exciting Jumpstart Event!
Students explored the magic of patterns through hands-on activities, creating shapes with match sticks and lolly sticks, solving word patterns, and discovering quick number patterns. These activities sparked their imagination, encouraging curiosity and setting the stage for our journey into the world of patterns!
Podar International School celebrated Kannada Rajyothsava with pride and enthusiasm! Students honored the significance of the day by dressing as iconic Kannada freedom fighters and influential personalities. The celebration featured vibrant traditional performances, dance, and patriotic songs.

Podar International School, Mangalore, proudly organized Kannada Teru in a vibrant mode. We were honored to have Mr. Krishna Murthy D.B., Head of the Kannada Department and Lecturer from Kundapura R.N. Shetty P.U. College, as our esteemed guest.
The event included a procession from Ladyhill to Urwa Store and showcased lively Kannada folk performances by our talented students, including Dolu Kunitha, Veeragase, Hulivesha, Kannada songs, Kamsale, Kannada folk dance, and Yakshagana.
This event marked a memorable tribute to Kannada culture and heritage.
Our Mother's Day event was filled with joy as mothers entered with smiles and pride. The show kicked off with a fabulous ramp walk featuring mom and child, followed by a marvellous talent show showcasing their unique talents.
The joy on the mothers' faces was priceless! The celebration concluded with a lucky draw, where three lucky moms won prizes. Moms shared their heartfelt appreciation for the event.
Podar International School Mangalore celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, honoring their contributions to the nation and also inaugurated its Scout and Guide, Cubs, and Bulbul units with Chief Guest Dr. Rahul Tonse Ganesh, Assistant District Commissioner of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Mangalore North.
The event featured the lighting of the lamp, an inspiring speech by Dr. Rahul Tonse Ganesh and an address by Principal Mr. Girish Kumar, emphasizing the importance of scouting. The ceremony concluded with an All Faith Prayer and the National Anthem, promoting unity and service.
Podar International School, Mangalore, celebrated Hindi Divas with great enthusiasm on 14th September 2024. The event, aimed at honoring the significance of Hindi as the national language, was compared by Rahana Ganguly of Grade 8.
The students showcased a vibrant cultural program that included dance performances, group singing, expressive poem recitations written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, an impressive poetry reading session, and a melodious keyboard performance, which added a musical touch to the occasion.
Miss Bhavika, also from Grade 8, delivered an insightful speech on the importance of Hindi Divas, emphasizing the role of Hindi in uniting the nation.
The students took immense pride in representing their national language and displayed meticulous effort in organizing and presenting the event. The program was a true celebration of the rich heritage of Hindi and left the audience with a sense of pride and appreciation for the language.
Podar International School celebrated Eid Milad with a focus on the theme of "Unity in Diversity." The event, hosted by Prakanya P, was a vibrant display of cultural harmony and togetherness.
Students participated enthusiastically, presenting a captivating dance performance that highlighted the joyous spirit of the occasion. The significance of Eid Milad was thoughtfully explained to the students, helping them understand the importance of love, compassion, and unity in the celebration.
As part of the festivities, students brought dry fruits to share with their peers, symbolizing the essence of sharing and community, which is central to Eid Milad. This act of sharing emphasized the deeper message of togetherness, making the celebration both meaningful and memorable for all present.
Podar International School, Mangalore, celebrated Onam with great enthusiasm and splendor. The event, hosted by Prakanya P of Grade 8, was a vibrant showcase of the rich cultural traditions associated with the festival.
The highlight of the celebration was the entry of King Mahabali, which captivated the audience. The students brought the legend of Onam to life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
The program was enjoyed by all, as the students celebrated the spirit of Onam with joy and unity, making the occasion both entertaining and memorable.
On August 29, 2024, Podar International School, Mangalore, celebrated National Sports Day with a vibrant mini-marathon. The event commenced with our Principal inaugurating the race, which featured three categories: Grades 1 & 2, Grades 3 to 5, and Grades 6 to 10.
Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and energy, running with great spirit. In alignment with the theme of health and wellness, participants also brought healthy snacks to underscore the importance of a balanced lifestyle.

We kicked off a week-long celebration with an oath-taking ceremony and a variety of student competitions. Our school corridors, classrooms, and house boards came alive with patriotic decorations, and we played patriotic songs each morning to set the tone. We also encouraged our parents to participate in the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign.
On Independence Day, we celebrated with a welcome dance, flag unfurling, and the national anthem. Highlights included a cultural program, the launch of our newsletter, a moment of honoring our senior teacher, a guest speech by Prof. Radhakrishna K, and sweet distribution.
Grades 1-8 had Quality Circle Time discussing story building on their favourite toy, favourite sports and its rules, and the significance of upholding traditions.
Other activities included a session on segregation of waste by Mr. Bhuvan & Mr. Jeeth, followed by a field trip (Grade 4,5), classroom decoration, Aati celebration along with Aati food, and Art & Craft works.
Fun and learning were on the agenda all day!
We honored Kargil Vijay Diwas at Podar International School, Mangalore. Ms. Jayalakshmi Sapna, our SEED coordinator, welcomed Mr. Kishan D K, a former Indian Army soldier and our current admin. The students and staff honored Mr. Kishan for his service.
The highlight was an engaging interactive session where Mr. Kishan shared the significance of this important day. Inspired by his stories, our students pledged to be true patriots and commit to serving our country in the future.
Terra House hosted an Earth Day assembly on 26/7/2024 highlighting the key environmental issues.
The students have taken an oath, and presented speech, interview session etc. Ms Thara (English teacher) enlightened the students on this topic. The topics covered in the special assembly were :

Podar International School, Mangalore, we organized Kaushala Day-2 for the academic year 2024-25.
Grades 1-4 learned book binding skills, Grades 6-7 explored a paddy field hands-on, and Grade 8 volunteered at Bala Samrakshana Bhavan.
Grades 1-5 had Quality Circle Time discussing happy memories, supporting others, and respecting people.
Other activities included sessions on good touch/bad touch, a plantation drive, and basic classical dance for Grade 5.
